Great Mexican restaurant!…read more We ordered the el molcajete, port carnitas tacos and steak and shrimp with a couple of margaritas and I have to say , I was very very pleased with our meals. Since moving here to Texas it has been quite difficult to find a restaurant that serves meals outside of Tex Mex . Something told us to explore the area a bit more and thankfully we did ! El fogon has been one of the most authentic Mexican restaurant we've had so far. In the month of May, my husband and I have ate here twice and every plate that we've ordered have been incredibly delicious. The meats are very tender & seasoned extremely well. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for dishes outside of the typical Tex mex. The menu has so many options and everything looks and smells so good. Their margaritas are made very well which is a bonus! I appreciate the assortment of seating (booths , patio ,tables & bar top ). I loved the decor and cleanliness. Our service each time has been top tier. The staff is friendly , fast and accommodating. Based on our experience both times, we are definitely returning and encouraging friends to try. I am ready to return already. Yum !

This is not an authentic Mexican place. It's good if you like Tex-mex. Tex-mex w creative dishes…read morenamed after real Mexican dishes but w different ingredients. My ceviche was completely* tasteless, tough & uninteresting, more like Peruvian style but without any lime (nor flavor). The fish, shrimp and pulpo came straight out of a very frozen bag. Totally overpriced. Chips were pretty thanks to the amount of red & yellow dye added, went w the festive decor. The guacamole was very much too chunky ... They appeared to have real street Mexican tacos on the menu w corn tortillas. The atmosphere felt like entering a rancho joint in northern Mexico. The staff was very nice, accommodating and attentive when we went. The place was not very crowded. Parking was not a problem. I would not go back but it depends on what you're used to.

I come regularly for Doms fajita Wednesdays. You get 1pound…read morefajitas for 2, chips n queso, 2 beans (charros or refried), 2 rice (Spanish or poblano), choice of flour/corn or both tortillas, and a dish of toppings (cheese, sour cream, lettuce, guacamole, pico). All included in the Wednesday special that I personally think is worth the price. Cute over festive decor inside, all the services I've received were fast from nice people. Oh! * HH is $1 off margaritas! still better than Daikin park prices lol SYOY

Stopped for a late lunch at the Stafford location and was a bit unimpressed. I had a tex-mex plate of beef enchiladas, tamale, and beef taco accompanied with rice and beans. The portions were huge which was a nice surprise. But the food was not bad, nor great - it was basic. The beef picadillo filling for the enchilada and taco was bland and a bit greasy. Service was prompt but also a bit pushy. At 2pm, perhaps it was the hour and we just caught them at the change over. Be aware that the restaurant is pretty dark so it takes a moment to adjust. I understand that dim look at dinner but it feels off during lunch. Unlike some of the sister restaurants in town, the parking is plentiful. Not sure if I will make it back to this location.
