    Wide open place.....

Conveniently located next to Highway with plenty of parking spaces available. Large spacious location with colorful decor and Mexican influences throughout the location. Fairly decent service and very affordable comida too. Reasonable prices for portions served. I had the "Brenda's Plate" via Tex-Mex style!! The Fresh Mexican Lemonade was a treat too. I enjoyed my food and the causal atmosphere too Nice for lunch, dinner or whatever tickles your fancy! I had a nice lunch and I chilled out afterwards

    Fajita Gorditas

Took a whole a hour & the food isn't worth the wait. The Gordita was full of grease, tasted nothing like fajita or beans just the tortilla.

Brenda's Taqueria is our go to real Mexican place in the Stafford/Sugar Land area. It's fast service, good food, for an affordable price. Don't expect anything fancy here, but the food is well worth the affordable prices. My go to orders are the street tacos, al pastor torta, or tampiquena. The chips and salsa are fire here as well. The green sauce always packs a kick, and the red salsa is always fresh tasting. I'm surprised this place has such a low rating on Yelp. You can't go wrong with their margaritas, classic Mexican taqueria food, and live music on weekends. My cousins and I always go here to satisfy our late night taco cravings. Enjoy!

i gave specific instructions to the waiter to put our ice cream cake in the freezer and served us a melted cake. the waiter was also inattentive to our table and didn't provide any refills to drink or salsa and chips. never again

    Tostadas and tacos

If you want good Mexican tacos, come here! Service is decent. Wait time for the food isn't too long. Love their green sauce dip with the chips!! It's spicy but not habanero-level spicy. I've had their tostadas like 3 times and regular corn tacos a couple of times. My favorite meat options to go for whether as a tostada or taco are: carnitas (pulled pork), barbacao (beef brisket), fajita (beef), and al pastor (marinated pork). I've also tried their churros which comes drizzled with Mexican chocolate. The churros are slightly crispy on the outside and soft inside. Utter yummyness! The chocolate drizzled tasted kinda weird to me. Not terrible, just different. If you do tacos, pick corn and not flour tortillas. It taste better! Tostadas (carnitas, barbacoa, fajita, or pastor) - 5/5 Tacos (carnitas, barbacoa, fajita, or pastor) - 5/5 Churros - 4.5/5

I wouldn't even give it a star if I could.. horrible food and service. Menudo was so greasy and salty to begin with, gorditas masa was from last years freeze they kept in the freezer, when ordered fajita nachos be prepared to receive cold ground beef and watered down cheese. Even after letting out waitress know she never came back to our table. After speaking to the manager, she gets an attitude and begins to say we should have said something??? WE DID, to the waitress? Very disappointed and how it was handled on their management side. In addition, the manager did mention their Menudo is made on Friday to last the entire weekend.. food for thought*

Food was cold tasty but cold. I'm on my lunch break so sad. I won't be back warm your food up over there and youll get more customers shouldn't have to eat stone cold meat.

You know, the problem with this place is that it has been hit or miss for me. Once I came here with my husband and I was given frozen food. Like, seriously the food was still frozen when you bit into it. Just getting a new plate was ridiculous. However, once when I came with my mom she was given the wrong order and although I was annoyed, it did not cause the amount of drama it did for me and was quickly corrected. I also did learn the gossip that the kitchen staff was messing up the orders. I hope, after seeing some of the more newer recent reviews, that the kitchen staff has either been retrained, fired, or whatever necessary, because when they are decent, it's a nice place to eat, but when they have a mishap it causes people to run away. It doesn't matter if most of the food (skip the chile con queso- it's too thin for my taste) is good if you unfortunately had one bad experience. That pretty much colors your experience. However, I'm a sucker for Tex Mex and really want businesses near me to do well. I'm a Yelp reviewer, not a destroyer of dreams. If you like Tex Mex this is an ok spot, but be mindful of your order, just in case they haven't fixed their issues, since I last came to visit.

Food quantity is ain't it. Not enough options and they serve you very little. DJ isn't good. Staff just stands there.

We came on Friday night after a baseball game. The music was soooooo loud, I probably have permanent hearing damage. It was miserable!!

Not really a Taquería, more like a bar with sub par Tex mex. Service was slow and they were not busy.

The food was bland and had no seasoning, margarita had no alcohol in it. They take a 18% gratuity for bad service and terrible food.

This place is open. If you're tired of turkey on Thanksgiving, they are open. If you need a margarita on Christmas Day, they are open.

Great Mexican restaurant!…read more We ordered the el molcajete, port carnitas tacos and steak and shrimp with a couple of margaritas and I have to say , I was very very pleased with our meals. Since moving here to Texas it has been quite difficult to find a restaurant that serves meals outside of Tex Mex . Something told us to explore the area a bit more and thankfully we did ! El fogon has been one of the most authentic Mexican restaurant we've had so far. In the month of May, my husband and I have ate here twice and every plate that we've ordered have been incredibly delicious. The meats are very tender & seasoned extremely well. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for dishes outside of the typical Tex mex. The menu has so many options and everything looks and smells so good. Their margaritas are made very well which is a bonus! I appreciate the assortment of seating (booths , patio ,tables & bar top ). I loved the decor and cleanliness. Our service each time has been top tier. The staff is friendly , fast and accommodating. Based on our experience both times, we are definitely returning and encouraging friends to try. I am ready to return already. Yum !

My ceviche was completely* tasteless, tough & uninteresting, more like Peruvian style but without any lime (nor flavor). The fish, shrimp and pulpo came straight out of a very frozen bag. Totally overpriced. Chips were pretty thanks to the amount of red & yellow dye added, went w the festive decor. The guacamole was very much too chunky ... They appeared to have real street Mexican tacos on the menu w corn tortillas. The atmosphere felt like entering a rancho joint in northern Mexico. The staff was very nice, accommodating and attentive when we went. The place was not very crowded. Parking was not a problem. I would not go back but it depends on what you're used to.
