Even though he was thorough in his inspection, the source of the leak evaded him on that initial service call. He was totally perplexed and unsatisfied not to have found the leak. We were advised not to use the propane in the trailer until the issue was resolved. Undeterred, Ian was adamant that he was going to find the source of the leak, so he returned twice more, concerned for our safety, wanting to uphold his reputation, and save us a costly visit to the dealership. We were happy and relieved when the problem was finally identified and repaired - I don't think any other service person could have had better success at finding it sooner. A couple of days ago, I brought my virtually brand-new, 2020 Porsche 718 Spyder into the Porsche dealership in Victoria, B.C., for its first scheduled oil change. The dealership was very professional to deal with (or so I thought, at the time!), and I picked up my vehicle, little more than 3 hours later, work complete. On route to Tofino, where I planned to escape for the weekend with my wife, an indicator light came on in the dash, advising me that my oil had been overfilled, and to contact the dealer immediately, which I did. The representative from the dealership made a variety of excuses for what had happened, but, reiterated what the warning light had said, that it was still safe to drive the vehicle. With this in mind, I cancelled the rest of the weekend, and headed back to Nanoose Bay the following day, where I would decide on the best way to move forward. After describing the situation to a good friend of mine, who has owned numerous Porsches, he told me to immediately take it to European Specialty for a proper assessment. I called his contact, Tom Zieba, the company's Service Manager, who told me to bring the vehicle in right away, and they would make time to check it over. In retrospect, they did far more than this, and carefully removed and measured the oil in the car. In addition, they documented, through text and photographs, every step in their investigative process, which determined that the Porsche dealership had put almost one full litre of oil too much into the car, which, as most people know, can be disastrous for the longevity of an engine. Despite accommodating me on a last-minute basis, and spending several hours working on my car, they charged me literally a fraction of the money to properly install the correct amount of oil that the Porsche dealership charged me to screw it up in the first place. As a result of this, European Specialty Automotive Services is a company that I would confidently refer to anyone who is seeking first-class, reasonably priced and friendly automotive expertise. In our situation a disturbing noise was coming from the rear of our Class B RV. We were almost 3 thousand miles from home and the RV is home on our Road Trip. On Friday a tire store had referred us to Scottie as they felt we probably had a very serious problem beyond their skills. Showed up Monday morning 8am and Scottie took it for a drive. He was able to quickly determine that is was A) A defective tire (brand new tire) and B) A leak in the rear caused by a clogged filter. Thank you Scottie!!

I called on Thursday as I was coming out of bamfield, hows it going I ask?? Looks real good, just bearings needed no ring and pinion, you have good ears to hear those bearings he tells me. Are we still on budget then I ask?? Oh ya he tells me but not ready till Friday. Ok I say Friday morning I call him up and ask if it's going to be done today and how much is the final bill?? I'm told 1875$ now!! Why so much more?? Ad ons he tells me! What ad ones?? It's only bearings!! He didn't want to tell me. We had some words to each other and he says pay me my money or I keep your truck. After an hour I call him back and agree to pay him but he won't take a credit card, cash only he says. Long story short,, the truck got towed out of there with the rear end takin apart and parts stuffed in a box. That night I decide to look at reviews, I wish I would have looked at them first. Many people have had the same kind of dealings with him. Just a thief praying on people. Say what someone wants to hear and once he has your car he can throw out any number he wants
