The views were breathtaking, the service friendly and the accommodations top-notch. Mike and Nancy were very welcoming and made us feel right at home. Each room was spacious, stylishly furnished and very clean. The beds were comfortable and the relaxing ambiance made for a great night's sleep. A complimentary breakfast was anything but ordinary. Just order any breakfast item off the menu, and Nancy cooks it up and serves it hot and fresh. Lunch and dinner were equally delicious. Our first day, we relaxed on the large, wrap-around front porch taking in the beautiful view and several deer and moose sightings. Later, Gary took us on an ATV ride to explore the property. The next day, we drove 10 minutes to the Fork Clark River and did some kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding. Perfect. Perfect. Perfect. The Amber Bear Inn is ideal for those looking to hike, fish, boat, kayak, paddle board, snow shoe, cross-country ski or get away from it all. I highly recommend this slice of paradise and will visit again!

Gina & Michael who run this b&b made me feel welcomed instantly and helped make sure my stay was perfect for the entire duration of my 3-day visit. The rooms were beautifully decorated, and you are awoken with fresh coffee and breakfast each morning. Gina is an AMAZING chef - if you're lucky enough to try her homemade Huckleberry croissant French toast, you'll instantly add it to your list of best things ever eaten. The b&b sits on a couple acres and is very spacious - private outdoor seating, patio and there's even a bocci ball court in the backyard. Michael was gracious enough to let me beat him 3 games in a row! Nestled in the hillsides right next to Schweitzer mountain, the location is prime for all thinks happenings in Sandpoint. Gina and Michael gave some great suggestions on things to do around the town, in addition to tons of recommendations for food & bars. We were in the Kipling suite which had a jet tub big enough for two people to swim is. It had a mini fridge, microwave, small coffee maker with coffee. A definite off the norm place to relax. It was just prior to Memorial Day weekend, so spring had sprung we had geese with babies parade through our yard and private beach. There were bald eagles and deer everywhere. We had one bald eagle that sat on a tree for hours almost every day. The natural beauty is unrivaled and the owner and his son were so helpful and friendly. We sat for hours outside just enjoying the natural beauty and wildlife. Farragut State Park is literally right next door to the resort, a must see. We loved it there so much that we would love to retire to the area. Thank you for an amazing stay and the most adorable cabin and private beach. Also, everything you could possibly need is in the cabin, including a wine opener so you don't have to bring one. Thank you for making our 25th wedding anniversary so magical!!!!

You try to use the locker room and again its packed with local kids.On a good note, the staff are very nice and the facilities are clean except when they have to close the pool ( which has become more and more frequent due to the kids urinating or throwing up) If having an athletic club is part of the reason for staying at the resort, forget it, you'll be disappointed.
