We found this park when we were passing by. We turned around and spent three days here! Chris and Marcy have put their heart and soul into this place! They have the above and beyond hospitality as well as a plethora of information about the area and the fun adventures nearby. They have a gathering area with very comfortable seating and fire pit in the center. Great play area for children and a dog walk for your fur babies. The bathrooms and showers are cleaned daily and very accommodating to all. As you can see we have had our fill of other types of RV Parks that tend to be more concerned about the sale than the truth. This place is priceless! We rented a pull through spot with full hookups. There are adorable cabins to rent on this 12 acre pine covered area with a short stroll down to the river. Trails galore to ride and the quaint little town of Troy nearby.

The highway isn't too heavily traveled, so the sites are fairly quiet, with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. Tables, BBQ grills and fire rings...plus very clean vault toilets and running water. Being in view of the highway, the sites don't feel very secluded or private -- but that is more than made up for by the fact that directly across the highway is a little all-natural sandy-bottomed hot spring, right on the banks of the Payette River. As far as I know you can soak any time, day or night, in a little rectangular pool that used to be part of a bathhouse or something back in the day. We walked over from our campsite after dark, and hiked down for a very relaxing soak. This place is not hardcore, remote or rugged....but I still give it 5 stars because it's clean, beautiful and EASY! And sometimes, that's what you want! I would definitely stay here again...but if you don't want to camp out, you can use the springs for free by parking in the little day use lot at the trailhead, just across from the campground.

We stayed this last weekend at round lake with some friends and family. We rented three sites next…read moreto each other. As soon as we arrived the people in front of us quickly got stuck because of the boulders that are placed everywhere. The people that work there sat in the golf cart and proceeded to watch them for thirty minutes. My spouse had to help with 3 others to jiggle a boulder so they can gain an inch of room. The area where they ask you to put up tents on are white rock filled area next to our fire pit and picnic table. We were asked to not use the "ground" dirt to camp but did point out many tents using this. The rules are ridiculous, no hammocks , and if you are disabled and use a cane like I do good luck maneuvering around the unnecessary costly boulders that are not an improvement but a waste of cost. Never again will I or seventeen others visit again. Enjoy your boulders.

When we arrived, not only was Steve there to show us to our spot, but several others currently staying. In the park were helpful in spotting some close calls and helping get us positioned just right in our spot. For our rig size, it was a close call and tight fit getting in, but once in our spot it was perfect. They got us in site 11 no problem. Is it an impersonal overly polished concrete and blacktop parking lot style RV Park with perfect level geometry/symmetry everywhere you look? No, but it was one of the best and most relaxing locations we've been so far. It's in the middle of a game preserve, so there are numerous deer routinely wandering around the area. Ahhh nature! As far as quiet goes, evenings were like a cemetery (in a good way). Just lots of peace and quiet to enjoy your surroundings. And the sunsets on the dock & beach! They are about as idyllic as you can get for lakefront property. We spent time swimming, kayaking, and just siting our on the dock enjoying the sunshine. I can speak for the internet/WiFi as we had great T-Mobile reception and so were only on our own hotspots the entire time. 60Mbit down / 8.9Mbit up. Perfectly suited to my purposes.

Sites are great too, my spot was nicely spaced between neighbors and it seemed that most spots are spaced out nicely. Other guest were nice too, kept to themselves and didn't start any trouble and didn't party loudly or past sundown. Dog park is nice too. Lots of trees to pee on and a small section of taller grasses and flowers to run around in and explore. Will definitely be back to this lovely little resort.

The spots are level, that's important in a small rig like ours. The place is super clean and the bathrooms are a dream! The folks in the campground are mostly just passing through and some are there for a couple days to enjoy all the outdoor activities. Those there for awhile are super friendly and helpful, we me several in our little world of chaos! The owner though, he's the real hero of this little haven! We arrived later in the evening only to find an entire group of folks in our spot. Well, what we thought was our spot!! We called the after hours number and one of the folks actually texted the owner for us. Lo and behold, in the year and a half on the road, I had mixed up the reservation date! We were scheduled to be there the day before and they were full that night! The owner found us a spot to park though, luckily with a plug in since it was so hot!! For "glamping", the Conestoga Wagons are fun, and there are actual Tipi spots coming that'll be right among the trees! Be sure to walk the nature trail through the woods when you're here. As far out as it is, there's not a lot to explore on the campgrounds. To explore you have to go out on the dirt road. They do have ping pong tables & a horseshoe pit. Most of the people staying there had dirt bikes and quads. They'd all be coming and going at times. At night, it was very quiet. They have warm showers, and a clean bathroom (clean for camping standards). To note: It's a fairly long (~9 miles) trek on a dirt road to get to the campground off of I-90. Expect your vehicle to get dirty on the way in/out. There was zero cell service (Verizon). Overall, I would recommend this campground!

In order to navigate the park it requires coming in and out of the check point. Even after you have checked in, received your vehicle tag, if there are 20 cars in front of you, you must wait patiently in line once again. I did not know this (a new rule) and made my way around the lazy traffic to get to the boat dock after unloading my vehicle (parking is horrid). Next thing you know, I'm being chased down by a large Tractor! Literally a front loader with a bucket full of dirt. This maintance guy was insane. As I pulled into a parking spot at the boat launch he screamed in behind me, bloxking me in as if a criminal. Then, he unloads his bucket, 1 ton of dirt behind my truck and proceeds to challenge me to a dual. I have never been i sulted, humiliated and intimidated to such a degree at a campsite. I don't believe they are doing mental welfare checks on their employees at this camp. My family's stay wasnuch shorter, even though the views are beautifil. Spirit Lake is one of those beautiful places tucked away as a hidden gem. If you need a RV spot this is certainly a go to. We are sure to be back.
