We have been seeing the billboards on I-90 about their Huckleberry and other shakes after entering Montana. It was late in the night but still we decided to try this. Looks like a favorite pit stop for the highway travelers. They do have a small restaurant, an aquarium, large souvenir section as well. Wow! Awesome spot! Do stop here on any road trip or just because. The burgers are ginormous and of high quality. We could not believe how yummy everything was. The milkshakes here are incredible! We always stop if we're driving through on our way to anywhere in Montana, from Washington.

Saw the signs from a mile away , great advertising! I was traveling from Washington state to Wisconsin with three kids 4 and under and my husband. We had to stop by ! It's worth the wait ! This place was packed ! ORDER: take out ;We got chicken tenders for the kids , two burgers , and two shakes . If you love fries then this is the spot they give you ALOT! The burgers were MASSIVE ! Very flavorful, stacked well and not just thrown together ,well made wish they were pink but hey beggars can't be choosers . This restaurant was unexpectedly one of the best meals I had in Montana. It is a road stop and rather unassuming but the food is good and the service is great. The huckleberry milkshake is AMAZING , there are no words to describe how fruity and flavorful it was, it cannot be missed. For food we had the burgers (one with gluten free bread) and tried both the fries and the sweet potato fries . Everything was cooked perfectly and the burgers where perfection . Not many folks here on this visit, at least in the Hucks Grill restaurant area. The waitress was friendly enough and made sure she hit her required up-sale questions. None for me as I just want a quick, decent meal before driving another 150 miles. I had the Duke burger that has bacon and a horseradish cream cheese on it. The burger tasted like it was a freezer patty, however the bacon slices were nice thick cuts, cooked just right. The sauce was more horseradish than cream cheese, but was still good as it gave the burger a unique kick. Tater tots were perfection and they didn't skimp on portion sizes with them. Overall a decent meal but came in at around $13 which felt a bit high for what you get. It is the perfect stopping point though, with not much else around. read more

Attention earthlings! Plastic free July is right around the corner, and as you may have guessed, the huckleberry shakes in Saint Regis are more delicious than ever!! I wasn't going to get one as I saw most of the shakes were served in single use plastic. Good news! Upon purchase of a reusable travel mug at the Saint Regis gift shop, Hucks Grill had no problem filling our beautiful new reusable coffee mug with said delicious huckleberry shake! This is the first time I've ever ordered a shake in the last five years, and the establishment was open to serving the shake to me in a reusable mug! Pretty sure they would have allowed me to use my own 20 ounce reusable travel mug had I remembered it! Hucks grill made the shake in the big metal cup that they have on hand, and then they poured it directly into my travel mug! No problems, and wouldn't you know it,... We saved some turtles, fish, and the planet while we drinkour delicious huckleberry shake! Hats off to Huck Grill for being conscientious and making our earth. Stuart dreams come true! This is a really famous place for Huckleberry shake. It is sinfully sweet, also a reason why it tastes so good. There is always a long wait for it but it's worth the wait.Also, the Greek fries you get here is amazing. It's attached to a souvenir shop with lots of local goodies. Well, when I got there, this place is huge (not the largest in MT, but close). And, artists and photographers will love the pictures and paintings that are for sale there. I ordered a small shake without whipped cream, as I didn't want to dilute the flavor of the shake. Well, it was really good. This restaurant is located inside of a gas station & travel center, but don't let that stop you from trying it. I had Huck's signature burger (no bun) with tots and a huckleberry lemonade. The burger was juicy and perfectly cooked. The bbq sauce was tangy and complimented the burger well. The tater tots were perfectly crispy and piping hot. I still don't know what a huckleberry is, but I can tell you it's sweet and delicious in lemonade! If you are traveling to the area I recommend trying this little hole in the wall. read more

The problem was a $12 bacon cheeseburger, then .... oh you want lettuce, pickle, tomato (which were green and inedible) & onions on that..... $1more, I upgraded my fries to onion rings.... $2, but thats ok I saw the upcharge on the menu. I asked to grill the onions at the time of billing I had to pay $2 grill charge for the onions, good thing the burger came cooked! Then I get to pay a "Resort" tax of 3% ... soon to be 4%, for a grand total of $17.51, excluding the $3.50 tip. I would expect this kind of treatment if I was in one of the parks or Jackson Hole ..... Oh excuse me Jackson, Wy. I understand the need to profit, but I don't agree in doing it this way. I'm not sure if it lived up to the title, but definitely up there! We were super bummed to find out they no longer have Crystal's Huckleberry pie. Our waitress, Cosmos, mentioned that they might be introducing other huckleberry items in the future to replace the pie (including a tart). Speaking of, Cosmos was 5/5 - super friendly and helpful, had recommendations about hot springs in the area, and very apologetic about the ten minute wait we had before being served (as she was the only waitress). I got the Duke Burger with a side of the huckleberry bbq sauce. Horseradish cream cheese was excellent, strong horseradish flavor. The bbq sauce was a little sweet for my tastes, but had a nice flavor. Coleslaw side was a little bland and heavy on the mayo. Girlfriend got the Hot Chick Sandwich. She found it reasonable for a chicken sandwich, but not mind blowing. She really enjoyed the sweet potato fries, though they were a bit dry. The orange sauce that came for dipping with the fries tasted like a deviled egg. Location is attached to a gift shop/casino/travel stop. A little more expensive than expected for this part of the country, but not exorbitant and the food was a cut above your average travel stop. They were so dang delicious! The location itself was very nice and clean. The staff was very friendly to us. They have everything from gas to all snacks and drinks you will need. As I drive through Montana and Idaho on my way to Seattle, I find myself in small towns across the country. This leads to interesting experiences. Huck's Grill is one of those. This restaurant is located in the rest stop called "St Regis Welcome Center", in St Regis, Montana. The restaurant had clean tables and booths, and the floor was recently swept. They also have a takeout window, which was nice. There were people there who I assume were taking their food on the road with them. The menu is mostly hamburgers, but they do have breakfast food until 12 noon daily. I don't eat a lot of hamburgers, perhaps 2 a year, and I found this one very tasty. I asked the server what the most popular one was, and ordered that. She did not steer me wrong. The fries that come with it were fine, but not memorable, and I did not finish them. There is a huckleberry theme on the menu as well, I tried the huckleberry milkshake, simply because where else would I have a chance to have one? It was good, but too large and slightly overpriced. In fact the whole menu is basically $1 overpriced on all items. I cant blame them, they have a captive audience I suppose, the place gets tons of foot traffic and seems to be the only real game in town. But, that's not a reason to gouge people either. The servers were really pleasant. I would stop here again without hesitation, and probably order another burger, but I'd pass on the milkshake. read more

Stop at st. Regis multiple times a year, and haven't ever been inclined to try Hucks, because I always assumed the prices would be ridiculously expensive but I decided to take my kids to get food as a fun little treat and they are surprisingly affordable, especially in todays world of inflation. Service was quick, food was good, lots of entertainment for kids (toys and kids menus to color) and the employees are friendly and patient. Will stop here again! 10/10 recommend! read more

Food wise, I was pretty bummed. I ordered the fish and chips. I did get four pieces of fish, but it was mystery fish because the description didn't say what kind. I like that there wasn't an upcharge to get sweet potato fries, but a lot of them had black edges. Taste wise, it was ok. Breading was thick. The description says it comes with tartar sauce and malt vinegar, but I got neither and had to ask for them. Service was pretty nice though. read more

My husband has previously left a glowing review. We travel through St Regis weekly and up until a few weeks ago, could easily leave a glowing review. The last few experiences have been sub par culminating to a positively negative experience today. Our last few sub par experiences, we excused to 1) being busy and 2) new staff. We give everyone a bad day and we forgive. Today, no. It wasn't busy. We ordered a coffee, eggs, a burger and water. After 30 minutes, I had to ask for my coffee. The water never came. I watched as the burger and eggs sat under the warmer while our server wrote on paper at the register--with no one else in the restaurant except a large family that had been served. I waited and waited while three different servers passed by our food and our server did paperwork. While we're waiting, the gentleman behind us complained to the general manager about the unusual amount of flies and flies in his food. I didn't get too upset--it's July in Montana. We're still waiting for our food that is sitting there. I get up to ask our server to please get our food that is right there and she seems to suddenly notice it's there and gets it. Hubbie's water never came. To sum up, what should have been a 30 minute breakfast turned into an hour and a half. For the few items we ordered, I/we had to consider asking for it repeatedly or actually ask for it a second time. With flies buzzing all over. What used to be our favorite place, we won't be going to again. It's really sad. read more

Our family thoroughly enjoyed the burgers, fries, and huckleberry shake. Was it the BEST SHAKE EVER!!!!? Maybe not, but it was super good. I got the Big Sky burger with jalapeño cream cheese and bacon, while my wife got the Huck's Signature burger with huckleberry BBQ sauce and coleslaw. Both were excellent, and the fries were perfect (be sure to try the Yellowstone seasoning on the fries). And for the GF folks, be sure to "go topless" on your burgers... my wife's burger came over a full salad that was fresh and tasty. The kids also loved their burgers, and the prices on the kids' menu are pretty great for what they get (including a free toy). Lots of folks on these reviews are complaining about the service. Our experience was very pleasant. It's not fast food, but the servers (the two with whom we interacted were great) seemed to be doing a fine job keeping up while the place was pretty busy (it did seem that those seated in the restaurant were being served much more efficiently than those standing in line at the pick-up window, FWIW). There are tons of signs advertising their huckleberry shakes, which my partner tried and said they were pretty good. The shopping area has a lot of cute gifts to pick up when you pass through. On road trip from Seattle to Mississippi and stumbled across Hucks. All I can say is I never found another place off the main road the whole trip as neat as Hucks. They have about everything you could need in one stop. Super neat country store with quality gifts, a lot of local gifts, shirts, hats, mugs, etc. Not your usual made in China junk, great prices. We were early so we had breakfast, good service and great food. Although I didn't indulge they also had a small casino with slots only and a bar in a separate area. Also there was a nicely stocked convince store as well. Bathrooms were very clean. Lots of made in Montana goodies, localy made huckleberry items. To go orders coming after us received their food and were long gone by the time we got ours. Ordered 2 burgers, one with onion rings, one with fries, one milkshake to go - that was all. Onion rings were very good. Wanted to leave a tip for the waitress who seemed to want to appease us but it was excessively long wait for burgers and fries. But why should kitchen receive the pooled tips and be rewarded for bad behavior? We are 3rd generation U.S. citizens and my spouse's family was here before the Alamo. Everything you'd want from a meal on the road. Quick service, good selection, solid flavors and quality. Leagues away better than fast food or the nearest restaurant choice. Prices are reasonable. The gift shop attached via corridor is also really cool and massive. They've got a large fresh water aquarium, toys, clothing, art, games, electronic accessories and so forth. Vibe is really fun, kinda like a theme park gift shop. Bathrooms are clean and spacious. Definitely THE place to stop on this otherwise long and dull (if beautiful) stretch of highway. read more
