Sweet Peaks is one of the best ice cream spots in Montana, and this Missoula location is my favorite of the ones I've visited. They use local Montana dairy and always have fun seasonal and special flavors. I love the huckleberry and the Wustner Bros honey cinnamon the most. Both are rich, creamy, and full of flavor. The shop has a small lobby, but there is some seating inside if you want to sit down for a bit. It's cozy and cute, and the staff are really friendly and always happy to give samples, so you can try a few flavors before deciding. If you're in Missoula and craving ice cream, this is a great local spot that really highlights Montana ingredients and creativity. read more

The waffle cones are incredible. Flakey, crunchy, just sweet enough, light notes of cinnamon. It did a good job of not leaking too much ice cream out also. The ice cream was good but did leave me wanting a little more. The Chocolate Love flavor was chocolate ice cream with chocolate chips. The chocolatey-ness could have been richer, and I wish there was some fudge or brownie bits or something else to really make it shine. I do appreciate so many of the options are GF. Overall, the ice cream was very enjoyable. The prices are fair and the place was clean, smelled of fresh waffle cones, and was a great place to hang out. read more

Third time coming here in the past 3 days, visiting from AZ and somehow missed this the last year we came. I'm not a huge ice cream person, so maybe my opinion doesn't hold as much weight, but they have the best ice cream I've ever had. The lobby is a bit small, so I can't imagine coming during the peak of summer but the decor is charming. I was helped by Hannah, a very generous scooper, and Tenny. My family said they loved the chocolate, but my favorite was the buzz bomb sundae. Definitely give it a shot! read more

I needed to try the famous Huckleberry ice cream and got a kid sized scoop with sprinkles, which was the perfect amount if you are coming from dinner. Service was super friendly and prices were fair for the size of the scoop. Cheap stickers too if you like to collect them. Huckleberry flavor was as amazing as I thought it would be. read more

I wish we would've gotten this server's name. She might be the single friendliest, kindest, caring-est, most helpful brand ambassador that this ice cream shop could possibly have hired. Horrible staff person! Whoever was on shift today June 22, 2025, at 4:05PM saw four of us come in. She was on her cell phone and did not acknowledge us. Ok, fine, tell your call that you're working and will call them back. Nope, didn't happen. We looked at the menu for 5 minutes while she hid in back. We were ready to give our orders and rang the cowbell on the door again. I watched her, still on her cellphone, go to the back/staff hallway and shut the door!! She didn't even look at us! If she would've just said it's a really important call and to please give her a couple minutes, we would've understood, but to not even acknowledge paying customers - she should be fired! For some reason, The Big Dipper gets good press and lines of people. Their ice cream is fine, if a bit airy. For my money, Sweet Peaks is far and away the best ice cream in Missoula. And lots of other places. Rich and flavorful, wide variety of flavors, seasonal changes to specials. The incredibles? Chocolate Love (deep chocolate with bittersweet chocolate pieces), Mountain Mint (mint (of course) with bittersweet chocolate pieces), Madagascar Vanilla (perfection with a small dose of hot fudge). After devouring a huge plate at Notorious P.I.G. we dropped by Sweet Peaks after our walk around the block. The place was nice, clean, and very inviting. They have so many flavors to choose from, typical of most ice cream spots. Not being from the area, I order a local flavor, Huckleberry. Never had Huckleberry ice cream, nor the fruit for that matter, so why not. I was definitely not disappointed. It was sweet and creamy, and I presume it tasted like Huckleberry...not sure what it was supposed to taste like. Had we were not just passing through, I may have picked up a pint to go. Maybe the best ice cream I've ever had? I'm visiting from California and stumbled upon this place walking by on a super hot day. So glad I decided to stop in. I had river float, which tasted like berry pie, with pieces of cornbread that had almost a pie crust taste to it swirled with berry jam. It was so delicious!
