Chef Jerome is a piece of SE Georgia history and makes some fantastic food. From the moment we pulled up to the restaurant, Chef Jerome came out and greeted us with hugs and assurances that he was going to take good care of us. The building is eclectic, quirky, rustic, and several more adjectives - but never off-putting. It is comfortable.... When you walk in, you really get a feel for the history of this place - particularly from the tens of thousands of photos that decorate the walls (virtually all of them) throughout the restaurant. There are pictures of locals, travelers and even several celebrities that have feasted at the Diner. Ben Afflect's picture is featured all over the restaurant as he frequents this place whenever he is in town (he even has his own autographed chair hanging on the wall). We were seated in the VIP room and presented with a menu with several good southern dishes from deviled crab, oysters, scallops and of course shrimp to ribs, porkchops, steaks and burgers. They are known for their Wheelchair Platter - which serves 2, 3, or 4 people. This is a collection of things that the Chef has selected for you including fried shrimp, fish, hushpuppies, pork chops, Mac 'n cheese, and other treats. Comes with slaw and potato salad (both fantastic), We ordered the platter for 2 - and it did not disappoint. We also got the sweetpotato logs with a cinnamon dipping sauce (wow!). First - those were some of the best hushpuppies I've ever eaten. Crispy on the outside but fluffy with bits of corn on the inside. yum. Everything else was cooked to perfection. Once we had eaten, Chef Jerome came out and took some pictures (for the wall of course) and had us promising (truthfully) to return soon. This place is a little out of the way. It's down a dirt road and looks a little rustic - but you will be very pleasantly surprised once you go in and let Chef Jerome take care of you. A Definite recommendation! Don't miss this treasure!

Let's start with the pancake it tasted so good literally melts in your mouth after every bite. On to the fried shrimp the crunch and delightful taste was an amazing thrill. And finally the grits and eggs. The grits was cooked to the perfection and the eggs was soft and light which felt like a floating experience every time my fork dug into them. Highly recommend for you to try. And the service was very quick also I placed a to go order and was in and out in maybe 10 minutes.

I got the veggie omelette with grits and it comes with toast which was okay the omelette was not seasoned at all like not even salt. My husband got the eggs benedict which he said was okay but the sauce was kind of gross. He got a side of the salmon cakes which he said was so dry and just tasted like straight curry seasoning. Who puts curry seasoning on salmon cakes? We got my daughter the waffle with strawberry and whipped cream and the waffle was soggy, I ain't ever have no soggy waffles. And then I got a side of hash browns which were also soggy. Like I said usually their food is good but today I don't know what happened. I'm not sure if they have a new cook or what but the food was bland and not cooked well. We spent 74 bucks and I tipped the waiter 10 so 84 bucks and the food was not good. I hate to say it but we won't be coming back. The waiter was super nice but I feel they went up in prices for sure and to top it off I don't mind paying if the food was good. It's breakfast how can you mess it up? I was very disappointed.

Options seem to rotate. One day you're getting spaghetti and meatloaf, another day you're getting stew and pork. But the staples like fried chicken, mash potatoes and macaroni seem constant. The fried chicken, coincidentally, was the best thing I've tried, with the stew coming in a close second. There are MANY options so we definitely got our money's worth. The desserts look they're homemade as well. $15-16 including a drink is a great value. I tried it to-go the other day and it's charged based on weight. The price still ended up topping out as the same price as the buffet, so sitting down is definitely the best and only real option. Overall this is a great option after church or for lunch. In a city like Jesup with so few independent restaurants, this one is one of the best!

We were hungry and the buffet did not disappoint. We had pork chop, fried chicken, sausages and southern country veggies as well as many other offerings. There were several sauces on the table one being local cane syrup which my husband loves on cornbread. The interior is family style tables, nothing fancy but a local favorite so who would complain. I think it gets busy here because the food is good, homemade and plentiful. People were friendly and since being a local favorite establishment, many of the patrons knew each other and were joining others at their tables. Very family oriented...reminiscent of firehouse style eating. Go try it out!!!

Background to my journey well I literally bumped into this place on a walk the night before heading to diner... After some Yelp research and photo exploring I knew I wanted to dine here for breakfast. Now as I saw it I had two simple choices folks and it's either pork chops or shrimp & grits. Well, shrimp & grits it was and damn it was everything I expected and then some.. Let my hotel and walked to Quinn's. Ok, we're seated very quickly upon entering the establishment. The handing out of the menus and beverage order happening. OJ if you're curious? Like I said I vacillated back and forth with shrimp & grits the ultimate winner aside from me... Well, it's the moment of truth and my meal arrives ( drum roll please ) and DAMN FINE SHIRMP & GRITS! As the plate arrives I marvel at the steaming plate of grits with a mound of shrimp topped with green onions and lots of bacon pieces.. My meal plate was exactly how I envisioned it and that flavor taste exploded throughout my body with my brain rattled with joy.. Smooth creamy grits with a mound of perfictly cooked shrimp with a little pan char just the way I love my shrimp cooked. Yet that crispy bacon & green onion topping really provided the flavor bomb to place it into overdrive... Yes I gobbled it up with a slight belch at the end to show my appreciation.... My bill was presented and I gladly paid with a smile and added a 25% tip for the staff..... As I whistled Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah out the door and down the street it dawned on Frank that I had my amazing southern breakfast in style @ QUINN'S! Love the experience !
