The place was lively and I'm not sure if that was the normal pace of the service but I wish it had been a bit faster The sweet tea wa SWEET tea! I let some of my ice melt and ot was fine. The catfish was hot and seasoned just right. For the sides I had fried green tomatoes and potato salad. Neither was the best that I ever had but it wasn't bad at all. I'll support this spot again the next time I'm home. It seems to be thriving in a town with slowly dying small businesses. Hopefully it's still around.

I'm just a glutton for punishment. This is my second visit in a year and both times I would've rated -10 on a scale. Every restaurant is shorthanded so in no means am I ratting how understaffed they are. 2 waitress, and we get the turtle Pace-waitress. The tall, thin and very young waitress picked up her slack and brought us refills when we waved her down but literally our server was lazy and slow. The visit prior was so bad that I actually I filed a police report for harassment. The cook literally got nose to nose with me and was threatening and verbally abusive. I am an older woman and was very frightened by her behavior. I made sure she wasn't working before we entered. read more

My husband and I have eaten at Huddle House for years. We've seen employees go and come, but our server this time was Erica. She was friendly. She welcomed us in right away, which we thought was warm and inviting. She and the cook quickly got our food to us, and it was still hot. The restaurant was noticeably clean. Good job, management! It may have been one of his first days by himself as he seemed a little hesitant... but then again, the manager was stoking the fire right near him... so maybe he was just nervous. Alex did a great job. Our orders were brought fairly quickly, including the ever elusive Broccoli cheese casserole. The portions were perfect for us that day (they seemed smaller than normal but we weren't starving anyway.) He very politely handed them to us plate by plate and came back twice to check that everything was well. I HAVE to mention that Alex even used proper English which isn't common in daily conversation. More often than not, people choose to use slang. This is likely one of the best visits to Cracker Barrel that we've had in a long time. Alex should be promoted to a peer trainer! That would definitely improve the perception of the Barrel!
