A rustic feel, plenty of seating, above average beer, and truck parts on the ceiling. That pretty much sums up this cool, hard to find brewery on the outskirts of Hudson. It makes a great stop as you are about to head back to your Air BnB. The beer was affordable, $16-$20 for a take home four pack, about $7 a full pour, or $12 for a generous flight. The dark stuff (stout and porter) were both good, the pale ale was clean, but the IPA lacked depth. Still, I would recommend coming here for the atmosphere and dark beers, as the place has a very good vibe. The service was good...and Also, really clean bathroom!

3 out of 5 Craft Beers As my wife and I love craft beers, it was a no brainer to check it out. The brewery is in the back of a warehouse which is chill setting. The place is decorated nice and got the approval of my wife . There beers on draft all had cool names such as "Cucumba" or "Tainted Senorita". The drinks I had were good even the coffee stout but unfortunately the drinks were no cold but just below room temp. On a hot day, nothing kill a vibe then warm beers. Overall, the place is worth a visit but maybe not a second one

My first beer was my favorite, their Tainted Senorita Mexican Stout.

Is this place popular? Well, let's see... on Fridays it opens at 2, and when we got there at 2:05, it was already standing room only in the main bar area. We seated ourselves at the bar in the newer area to the left, and that area was full by 2:30. The mix was everything from business men meeting, to early happy hour meet-ups to a bachelorette party. The music was a bit too loud, but they turned it down on request. They've got darts, and I saw cornhole boards lined up against the wall for use at other times. There's definitely something for everyone here with the beer selection. My friend prefers IPAs, and he was quite happy with his. I prefer darker ales and also enjoyed my selections, with my first being my favorite, the Tainted Senorita Mexican Stout. The prices are reasonable, they do flights (4 x 5oz.) and you can also order 5oz pours. I saw the posts about how difficult it was to find the place, but I did see signs up pointing out the route to get there. I don't know how new these are, but they were adequate for us to find it, and we were also grateful for signs reserving parking spaces for the brewery. I've got nothing against Warren St. in Hudson, and I do like visiting the businesses there. But this definitely feels like the place to go when you want to get away from Warren St. for a while.

Large brewery off the beaten path in Hudson with both indoor and outdoor seating and plenty of available space on a Saturday late afternoon. Had to wait for a little bit while the waitress was free to get us seated as we scanned the table bar code for the menu. Free bagged chips to start (you don't get to pick) as you look through the draft list. All pints are $8 while a flight of four is $12, settling on both the "Widow's Walk" IPA and "NY Justus" IPA. Each offering a strong flavor profile without overdoing the hops. For food, there is a truck parked outside doling tacos, fries, and the like - they even deliver to your table instead of having to wait outside. Ambiance inside is nice, as they allow dogs and people alike, with TVs around in order to catch up on a game. When we first came in, there were only 2 waitresses to service the around 50 people in the establishment. Thankfully another worker showed up to shoulder the workload as even more people arrived. If not too busy of a day, good option for brews in the neighborhood.

Awesome beer experience!! Would definitely go back again!! Boyfriend and I love craft beers and the flights were not only perfect for trying new beers but came in tall servings! They even had a sour (his fave, hard to find). Our bartender Erin was so friendly and knowledgeable. Absolutely loved how strict she was on people maintaining their space. There's no food menu available but she provided snacks (chips). She kept the bar area clean and wiped down after every table (we were there for a bit). Definitely adhered to COVID-19 protocols. We enjoyed our beer and time so much, we went back the next day.

A tale of 4 breweries…read more So we tried to visit the brewery (#1) across the street for a flight and some food. It closed at 4, then we were going to have a beer at Return (#2) which opened at 4. The first place closed early (before 3:30pm), so we had some time to check out another spot (#3) a bit of a drive away. (5 min). The other place seemed fine, but since my spouse said the 4pm spot was good, we went back. Second customers in after opening, and I asked if they had any food or flights. He very politely told me that they did not have flights or food (tonight, but they did have some bagged snacks) and told me another brewery (#4) had both those things a short distance away (5-10 min/a few blocks). After chatting with the spouse (she and 3 kids had entered), we decided to stay. (Also, as a fun side-note, #4 is the one spouse thought she was taking us to.) We shared half a pilsner (Polished), half a gose (Speed Dial), and half an IPA (Westwhere). The Pilsner ended up being our 3rd favorite, but they were all tasty. We are not big drinkers, so we felt the 1.5 beers each! And since we were staying, we picked up a mandarin soda for the kids to share (special treat) and we all munched on a bit of popcorn, beef jerky, and Zapp's chips. It ended up being a great time! Very affordable, low-key, solid tunes, and super kid friendly. It's a big space, so noisy children are not too noticeable. Also, the man running the bar, again, was super cool. Highly recommend!

"We don't have a cocktail menu, but we can make anything you'd like."…read more That was one of the first things our server told us, and honestly, it was refreshing. These days, it feels like every bar has a cocktail menu full of creatively named drinks that require reading a list of ingredients just to figure out what you're ordering. At Governor's Tavern, if you want a gin and tonic, you simply ask for a gin and tonic. The only decision you need to make is which gin you'd like. I'm not much of a cocktail person, but I appreciate that not every place feels the need to reinvent the wheel. The place was packed at lunchtime, but we got lucky and grabbed a pair of seats across from the bar. The server who I quoted was genuinely friendly and welcoming. I ordered a Guinness, but unfortunately the keg had just kicked. She recommended the Samuel Smith chocolate stout instead and even brought me a sample before I committed to taste since I never heard of it, which was a nice touch. For food, we ordered the State Grill burger and the Nashville Hot chicken sandwich. Both were excellent, and each came with Belgian-style hand-cut fries. If you're spending the day browsing the boutiques and antique shops along Warren Street and want a drink, a good meal, and a lively mix of locals and tourists, Governor's Tavern is worth a stop.

They arrived already removed from the shells, which I wasn't expecting, but they ended up being the standout dish of the meal.
