A fun, easy going place for dinner and drinks! Came here with a large group for a birthday and it was St Patrick's day weekend and it was so cool, they brought in a bagpipe group that night too. The decor and vibe of the place had such good energy and the bartenders were also super chill and nice. There some menus going around and you order at the bar and pick up at the window. There came be a bit of a wait but they have great local craft beers to keep the vibes up! Love their oatmeal stout and the peanut butter stout. The nutrunner pale ale was another favorite of our group. The food is also great, definitely recommend the Cuban, the buffalo bleu burger, and the fish and chips! You can't go wrong with anything for the menu though and the prices are great! Very kid friendly with wood blocks and other toys they can play with. I apparently didn't take a single photo, but it was a really neat place, both inside and out. Plenty of interesting pieces from the factory, from breakers and power meters, to not even sure what they were. The menu was typical pub fare. I was excited to see cauliflower wings, but they were out. We tried the wings, burger, fries, and garbage fries, and the portions were generous, and food was tasty. Some of the food was picked up at the kitchen, other food was brought to the table. We ordered and paid at the bar. A great stop if hiking in the area. read more

Went there a couple weeks back , first off there is no one to wait in you. You have to go up and order your food then bring it back to your table. Didn't expect fast food service for a brewery. My daughter is 5 and they literally gave us a can of soda instead of a cup with a lif , again we had to go up and ask for a cup with a lid. Should be obvious with a child no? After a bad first experience I decided to give Old Factory another try. Ordering at the bar is neither good nor bad, almost like any other business or FF (Although cannot compare to the local McDonald's). I don't remember the name of the craft beer, which was suggested, not bad, but not great either. Not really a fan of wood floors, open spaces; a group of around a dozen were at a communal table nearby, they were loud. I will say it did past the time waiting. Buzzer like what you get at Panera who h tells you your order is ready. Unfortunately the youngster in the kitchen started to give me the wrong order, quickly rectified. Ordered burger without lettuce, tomatoe and mayo, I didn't put on enough ketchup and mustard, but was good. FF were a pleasant surprise; nice texture, crispy, very good. After paying, I added the tip, which came $21+. I'm debating whether or not it was worth it, but I'm willing to give them another try after the disastrous first time. The problem in this county is places charge city prices for awful food and terrible service. I patronise another business in town because they are constantly and consistently very, very good. This was a great stop for drinks and snacks and I imagine it would be good for dinner as well. There are multiple local brews on tap, a competent cocktail list, and coconut shrimp came out hot, fast, and tasty. There's ample seating inside and out and the air conditioning is strong. Inside there's a shelf of toys and games which made it pleasant to relax as a family. The beer, according to my husband, is very good. The food is good also. The service, as it is, was ok. They give you a buzzer when the food is ready and you go to the bar to pick it up but yesterday a young man brought it out to us. We love sitting outside. When you arrive here take note that there is no table service . You place your order at the bar area and then pick up your food at a window . They wanted to hold on to my card and I politely declined and gave them my name which they were fine with . We are not really beer drinkers so we ordered Frose's ( frozen rose') and they were delicious . The food was pretty good except for the chicken wings ( we ordered buffalo) , they were on the larger side , greasy and no sauce . The Reuben was outstanding and I would definitely order that again . I did not really care for the checkout experience as they just run your card and you do not see a breakdown of what you were charged . It's not a deal breaker though so we will be back . read more

Solid spot! Went here for dinner + drinks. Tried two different IPA's both were great, house Chardonnay was pretty good too. From the food menu, pork lion sandwich and fried chicken sandwich were both good (maybe slightly under flavored), Buffalo cauliflower was a bit over cooked but not bad at all, Buffalo chicken wings need improvement - boneless and pretty much looked just like the cauliflower, we couldn't tell which is what. I wasn't expecting chicken nuggets when I ordered WINGS. Good fries though. There's room for improvements but overall definitely a solid choice so I'm giving them 5 stars for trying and with the limited choices in the area, I'll take descent! Old factory brewing is such an awesome brewery! They have such a great location that is not only in the heart of Cairo (stop by on your way to windham) but also in an (surprise) old factory. They have games you can play, tvs you can watch, great staff you can talk to. They have both inside and outside seating, and a functional (delicious) kitchen! The beer is cold and delicious. Came here after passing by and being intrigued by the place. My table ordered both a buffalo chicken wrap and pulled pork mac and cheese. I can say both of these items were absolutely delicious. Not to mention the flight of beers I had, so many great older styles of beer that they put there own twist on. The staff all seemed so knowledgeable and happy to give recommendations when we ordered. The food is delicious, my husband and I both had a classic smash cheeseburger and it was drool worthy delicious. My son also had a kids burger I have never seen him eat so fast. He said it was so good. My daughter had chicken tenders and she (a picky eater) ate it all. My husband really liked the beer. I must mention that the service was great. One of the worst breweries that I have ever been to. The food was awful - it was just frozen food that was either warmed up in a microwave or put into a fryer. Nothing wrong with that if it's done well. The drinks were awful with the exception of the Brilliant Blonde. Whoever made that mango sour has never had a sour in their life. Interesting raw interiors in an old local factory! Food has been pretty consistently delicious, especially the jalapeno/sauce burgers and great that the menu has expanded! Spent the day checking out numerous breweries in the area and started at Old Factory. Very interesting building with tons of space for both indoor and outdoor seating. Went here on Saturday night while visiting some friends in Cairo. Nice beer selection, although they were out of Kolsch which I wanted. Had a blonde ale which was pretty good although not much of a head. All 4 of us had the fish and chips. Big serving. we could have shared 2 orders. Lots of fries came with each order. This place is always on point. The wings here are by far the best in the Greene County and Capital Region areas. Their garlic parm wings have this creamy sauce unlike any other I have had... it is truly outstanding. I have never had a bad meal here; all of their food is consistently well prepared and delicious. The bartender, Shannon, is a true professional and always makes us feel welcomed. The owners, Tim Sr. and Tim Jr., are always friendly and welcoming... they are rock-solid in the community and are great supporters of local charities. I love their system for ordering food... you place your order at the bar and are given a "buzzer" that lets you know when your food is ready to pick up at the kitchen window. No waiting for busy servers to take your order, bring your food, and then waiting to find them to get a check... it is really a smart business model. Really great space in Cairo, NY. The inside is huge and there is plenty of space outdoors on the front porch and in the beer garden out back. This is obviously a family run business and it was a joy meeting Tim Sr. (behind the bar) and Tim Jr. (the head brewer). The food was simple bar fare, just what you'd expect. As nice as everyone was and as much as we liked the space, the beer was uniformly sub par. We tried 12 of the 13 beers they had on tap (they had just run out the Cream Ale) and we struggled to find one that we'd like a full pint of. Quite a few of the beers shared the same flaw, so we can't help but assume the problem is an overall process issue. We write this review reluctantly as the folks running The Old Factory couldn't have been nicer and we didn't have the heart to share our honest opinion about the beer with them while we were there. We're hoping this review helps them to realize that good location and great intentions aside - if you want to be a successful brewery the beer has to be good. They have only been open a few months and are not quite there yet but we wish them the best of luck as they mature and move forward. read more
