Very fun and cool spot with a schoolhouse theme that's done very well. Came here for a casual dinner and it was perfect. Loved the fun composition book drinks, file folder menu, and the pencil taps. The decor was fun to look at. The food was great too! Loved the smash burger, chicken sandwich, and wings. Caesar salad was good too but we felt that it could've used a larger portion of chicken. Overall service was quick and would be back! They seem to do a lot of live music and DJs during the week as well. read more

Cool gem we found while passing through town. Perfect spot for a quick bite and a drink. The West Coast-style IPA selection was amazing, and the pizza hit the spot. Really enjoyed our experience here we will definitely be back. There is a nice paddling put in right down the street. We ordered the smash burgers she got the single I got the double, so two patties for me. Mine were really juicy and flavorful hers was overcooked. They did not ask for temperature I guess normally would smash burgers they don't. We also got a slice of pizza each she got plain cheese I got pepperoni. The texture of the pizza was nice and crunchy very strong pepperoni flavor I loved it. Her slice wasn't that great because the cheese or sauce flavor it wasn't amazing, I guess my pepperonis dominated the flavor of my pizza which I was very happy with since I love pepperoni. I got an amazing West Coast IPA called West Friend from there, which I would definitely get again thank you for making that style of beer! read more

Person at bar was welcoming and I appreciate they are open late. However my pizza was salty and felt reheated. The vegetarian burger had a nice bun but was served with a small salad. It was overpriced and no real service beyond bringing out the food. You have to seat yourself, get your own water etc. read more

Just edging out Pizzeria Posto, Night School has the best New York slice I have found in the Hudson Valley. Great atmosphere, excellent drink menu, it's the kind of place you want to hangout with your friends. The pepperoni was plentiful and perfectly cupped. The undercarriage crispy with just the right flop. And the crust was tasty but not surgery. Posto might have a slightly better technique. But Night School's charm and the size of their pies make them a destination. If you're near Catskill, Cairo, Saugerties, or Hudson it's worth making the trek. read more

Stopped in on a Sunday to check out a new to me brewery and I am absolutely thrilled with the experience! Tried their pale ale- tastes a bit more like an IPA which I love! Also tried the DANGER ZONE weekly cocktail special - it's a must try- coffee lime and coconut explosion! The real winner was the Hot knots, got them to go and they were so crispy on the outside full of flavor (garlicky and a little heat) with THE BEST RANCH I have had to date! Night School opened in Athens recently, which offers 12 draft beers including several Deep Fried Beers, Crossroads, Union Street Brewing Allagash, Graft Farn, Von Trapp and Miller, plus beer cans/bottles, wine, and cocktails. Non-alcoholic drinks including can soda (Coke products, IBC Root Beer, Siciliana fruit sodas, Pellegrino, & apple juice) also served here. They also offer several crafted pizzas by the slice and whole pies with the selection changing daily. This local bar has a classic down home atmosphere with hardwood floors, a long bar with seating and several tables. The lighting is dim and there are classic framed historic pictures on the walls. The place was a bit noisy with echoing in the dim open room. While I was traveling the scenic route north towards Albany, I stopped by Night School recently to try their pizza. I thought about ordering a whole pizza, $24-$29 range, which most customers were getting with their DFB. Since they also offer pizza slices (not on the online ordering platform), I decided to order three pizza slices including pepperoni ($4.75), daily meat ($5.25), and daily veggie ($5.25). The slices were heated up in the oven and ready to go in about 7 minutes. I enjoyed my pizza slices back at the vehicle. The thin crust was firm and chewy. The pepperoni slice had several pieces of cup pepperoni slices, greasy mozzarella cheese, and red sauce. The daily meat slice was topped with red sauce, mozzarella cheese, sausage, basil, calabrian chili pepper. The daily veggie slice was topped with red sauce, mozzarella cheese, goat cheese, pickled jalapenos, & pineapple. Each of the pizza slices were pretty good for my quick dinner on the road. read more

This is a bar, you will not be served at a table. You need to put the order in at the bar, do not expect to be given plates or silverware when you are served your appetizer, it just doesn't happen. You need to throw your empty appetizer paper plate in the garbage that is on the floor located near another guest table. The server does as little as possible, anything outside the bar area is not going to happen, she will just bring you your food. You will need to leave your credit card at the register to keep an open tab. Do NOT order the slices, it looks like they were put out from the night before for show. The "Ambiance" is meh ... music, eclectic furniture, it's a bar, don't expect much. The music choice is acceptable. They have a cooler with canned/bottled drinks - you need to request for a glass and if you want ice, request that also. The spicy garlic knots were interesting, different and not bad at all. The 8 slice pepperoni pizza was good. Thin crust and crunchy, again, not bad. Oh, and the female server really doesn't have any people skills - maybe she's new - idk. read more
