We are just driving around the area & looking for a place to walk with a view of the water & this place fits the bill. Beautiful view of the hudson, lots of birds (and poop!) , an path to walk around and small beach which is close for the season. We are just there for a walk & some quiet time with nature so we are okey. Bathroom and snack are are also close when we came. During the Winter time anyone can walk in but passes are required during the warmer months. read more

Passed by while in the area. We aren't residents of Westchester so we paid $10 for parking but that was fine because the park is well kept - very clean. Nice trails to walk through, beautiful view. Saw a lot of people fishing. The season officially ended Columbus Day so the beach area is no longer supervised. read more

Hudson Park and Beach is very well kept, with walking trails, a jungle gym with swings for kids, a long gazebo area with seating to watch the boats and the sailing school yachts sail and a teeny beach area for the sunbathers who dare to use the waters near the extremely small beach. There used to be a Tiki Bar that I would bring my friends and family to that was situated right at the very edge of the 'deck area'. The Tiki Bar flooded all the time during high-tide, the flooding was a nuisance but we all still hung out even during high-tide...that was crazy. But what did it in for the Hudson Tiki Bar were the many noise complaints from within the community as well as owners of multi-million dollar homes surrounding the waters edge, plus Sandy also played a role in the Tiki's demise. So currently when I visit Hudson Park and Beach it is now the total opposite, offering sounds of nature, glistening marine life and water side tranquility. Last summer my children headed Out to this park to celebrate my sons 10th birthday. I ensured to check the website for the covid protocol and procedures. Requirements were mask and 6 feet. Upon arrival we were turned away because of parking and we weren't residents, however if we found parking in the street we could enter the park. Mind you there's no street parking available for blocks or miles. What a straight fuck you. We have to most parks in the area that allow out-of-county residents but never this one. I saw on the website that there was a parking fee which I didn't mind given the beautiful day. Directions off the highway were pretty straight forward. Many people were smartly parking in the surrounding area outside the park entrance and walking in to avoid the parking fee. We drove to the booth and were greeted by a nice young who asked us if we had the county park pass. (The county park pass is offered to Westchester County residents and give discounted/free access to all Westchester County parks). When we replied that we did not he informed us that there was a $5 parking fee. This was on a Sunday. I am not sure if it is more or less on weekdays or later on in the summer. Most New York park's peak season is from Memorial Day to Labor Day, so technically we are in the peak season now. There were 2 parking lots. There is a boat harbor on the left with many boats docked there. There were also a lot of people fishing in the 1st parking lot to the left. The second parking lot is closer to the park/beach area so we parked there. This is a nice park with some lovely views of the water. The dock area is nice to sit and relax. The beach was closed at the time but opens I believe in late June. Both the sand and water did not seem the cleanest and I have no desire to get into the water or visit the beach section in the future. There are a few nice short paths as well as a small (very small) play area for the kids. The play area consists of one slide/activity structure and one set of swings. Unless you are going to the beach or fishing, there really isn't much to do there. It was worth it to me for $5 as I like to take photos. read more

A hidden gem by the beach, seems to be exclusive but its open to the public. Sitting by the water and being pensive is the best!

i've been going to hudson park since i was 12 years of age..it was great then..but now..well i took my grandson at 10 am. i love animals but the geese have taken over the beach! there were 4 lifeguards doing nothing and the beach ( small beach is only side open!) was full off goose poop in water ...on the shore!! i had to ask if the lifegaurds wld clean it!!!..no results!!! very unsanitary and didn't let my grandson go in the water!!!what a disappointment for my grandson!! i had to take him home!!! we have the other large beach but no one cleans it and it is kept closed!!!..why? what a shame..really we are building many new skyscraper apartment buildings in new richelle... for who?? there s nothing left to atteact people to want to live here anymore!!..a lot of the stores have closed since covid and in summer you keep the beach closed until july except on weekends..seniors and adults wl d like to enjoy the peacefulness before the schools close but since the tiki bar (which no longer exists) was there.the beach is now fenced in and we can't even have the pleasure of being there all year round to enjoy the view peacefulness or catch some early rays!! no stores no beach.no clubs or entertainment!!.and...no bwach..yes glen island but..why do i have to buy 2 park passed to go??why are we building so much housing when we have nothing to offer!!!?? i think you shld work on what's been here for years and is now falling apart!! i buy a park pass and dnt want to wait till july to go to the beach..i am a senior citizen and wl d like to enjoy it during the week but can't and...why dnt u clean the water and beach on the other side??!the kids who work there r doing nothing and cld be cleaning it up i feel..i wrote this because i saw a review from someone saying how nice it was and how she loved the geese!! me too!! but..dnt like swimming in their feces!!!please bring back the day when " hudson park" was where we all wanted to be!!! clean and opened all the time for all to enjoy..!!! if anyone out there agrees with me..please make urself heard!! we want our beach back and to be able to swim in the water ...ckean shote no goose poop glass needke!! omg. come on now city of new richelle..please work on this for all the people who grew up here..and for the new comers!! i am not alone in this i'm sure!! and. we dnt need a new desease popping up on us because ogpf. This park is an O-K park for the peaceful scenic views in the very early morning hours, but after 2pm and especially at 6pm when they stop charging for parking, it gets very hectic with dozens of people from other cities and towns, blasting music, and tailgating in the parking lots, trashing up the park and ruining its reputation as a New Rochelle Park. The one thing that sucks is the parking: New Rochelle Residents have to pay $5 for parking but for Non Residents due to COVID 19, they cannot park inside at all but can come in if they park outside, which honestly does not make any sense because people can come here regardless because the beach and park is free! Westchester County Parks Passes do not work here, only New Rochelle City Park passes work here since it is a city park and not owned by Westchester County. The beach here is very small and isn't even worth coming here for the beach at all. The thing is that why do New Rochelle Residents without a pass have to pay $5 to park for the whole day but then it's free after 6 anyways? The residents pay taxes and should have full access to the parks, not having to pay $5 especially during the COVID crisis because sometimes people cannot afford to be paying for parking if their only staying for not even an hour or a few hours tops! Honestly this park is a huge disappointment, and needs more work keeping the parks clean, and especially keep the parks safe and enforce more rules so this park can actually be a nice park! read more

Im a lifelong NR resident, and enjoy going to many of the parks with my 5 yr old daughter. Living just a block away from Hudson Park, its nice to have a park so close by. During the summer months, there is a $5 "parking fee". But, there's really not all that much to do. The "Playground" area for the kids is by far, the smallest of any of the other Playgrounds in NR. There's an area with a jungle gym with one circular slide, and two tiny slides. And just two swings, aside from the small "bucket" swings for toddlers. Other than that, the Beach is very small, and just one look at it and you almost get the sensation the water is sewage. Other than that, you can fish, or look at the water. I personally find it offensive to have to pay $5 for what is offered (granted, not a lot of money, just the principle). Here's why I find it "offensive". All day long, they charge $5 to just park and enjoy the waterfront. They "close" at 6pm. And then, during the summer, the parking lot gets PACKED with people parking to see FREE Concerts at the Bandshell. Why do NR RESIDENTS have to pay $5 to park and look at the water, but ANYONE can come and park and see a Concert FOR FREE ??? THAT, well, thats just unfair and rediculous. The HUGE, FREE Playground on North Ave at the Childrens Library offers a Playground area thats at minimum, 10 times the size, AND, The Children's Library is FREE. In fact, so is the tremendous amount of street parking. Even the FREE Playground on Stephenson Blvd is MUCH bigger, has new renovations, is totally FREE, as well as ample FREE street parking. read more

The views and scenery in this park are not that great. Everything was very close and there wasn't much "park" space for children to play in. This park seems more for adult use than for children. We encountered a few sketchy adults doing who knows what behind the amphitheater/stage area. We will not be going back to this park any time soon... read more
