They have bathroom facilities and an outdoor shower head to wash off the salt water and sand. The beach is mostly made up of rocks and pebbles. They are also visible in the water. Lots of rocks and sea shells, so it's recommended you wear water shoes for entering the water or even walking in the beach itself. There is lots of seaweed in the water. You will also find the occasional baby crabs and oysters. Other than that you can swim in the water. There is a life guard on duty at certain times. Most of the time you will be swimming without one but they has the water sectioned off with rope.

You get the bay or the sound from the north shore and that's always nice since there are no waves to knock you over. We accidentally stumbled upon this beach while driving around. It's next door to Ransom Beach so if either is packed, just know there is another right there. Decent size parking lot, a clubhouse with restrooms and a snack bar (only open during the summer). There are also a handful of food places right across the street. The other perk is this is a Town of Oyster Bay beach so if you're a TOB resident, you get in for a fraction of the cost (during peak season, of course, the rest of the time it's free). I can't wait to try out this place during the summer and see if it gets crowded. If not, this might be my new beach home for a couple of months.

Sometimes the term Village Park also locally refers to West Harbor Beach which has a memorial park and is 1mi southwestwest of this one and on W Harbor Dr not Bayville Ave. My primary memory of this beach upon last visit 8y ago for wedding photos is its stillness. At the time, its famously large parking lot was 1/8th under construction, but even then the large lot was expansive with only 8 of its 300+ spots occupied on a weekday afternoon. The beach has LI Sound on the north and Oyster Bay on the south along a strip of land only a few dozen feet wide, a precious connection with the idyllicly insular, posh, largely gated isolated estates beyond with the island's own police force conspicuously posted at the only chokepoint entry. It's mostly low slung sand dunes, all environmentally sensitive so tread with care, with the usual tender grasses poking through and some barer patches of grass and dried flattened brush. A few hiking trails a few minutes long are on the far western and eastern peripheries. There's a large football field right of entrance used by Falcon Pride for local school sports programs. Two basketball courts are left of entrance. An annual summer festival uses this parking lot which is the largest public such in the area. All maintenance and conditions are prime and peak. The photography day's other stops were nearby Central Island Beach across Oyster Bay and Planting Fields Arboretum also in Oyster Bay. All are highly recommended for which I posted reviews.

Hubs and I have been hounding our friends- who are Jones Beach die-hard fanatics to change their annual beach party here instead. So pat on our backs- because we convinced them. Plus this is the break hubs and I needed to enjoy the beach as we've been busy practically every weekend. There are a few fields with a couple of them being 'radio-free'. Even with the allowed music in Field 5 that our friends chose, folks are respectful of their surroundings. Amenities for Field 5 include a children's playground, showers, clean Women/Men restrooms, not sure if this Field has a food concession stand/ sit down restn't. If you park in Field 5 towards the very far end and hoof it a bit, it'll give you easy access to the Fire Island Lighthouse. Sand is clean- almost powdery and the water is pristine. This is a trek from Westchester- but it's worth it.

Boy were they great! So 5 stars for them. The beach was easy to drive to. There was street parking and a sign that read Sea Cliff. The Public Safty men in front not so much though officer Derringer in his kindness gave me the grace to vent and the permission to enjoy the show. He gets an extra star from me. The pool closed just as the show was about to start at 8 p.m. The beach was nice , the stage and sound system well done and a nice night with the Sun setting while people , some dressed the part , sang, danced and enjoyed.If you are a fan check out this group.

If you go up and down the long way, you can get a nice 3.5 miles in on this baby with some hills. Throw in a weighted vest, and you're getting yourself a solid light workout. There are already so many reviews, so just some notes: 1) Make your way around the current dump (also a Nassau County gem, seriously) and drive slowly. 2) Parking is tricky at certain times of the day and on weekends. Make sure to come before 9:30 on beautiful days, or else you'll be parking far, far away. More steps, If you really want them I guess. 3) Wear your sunscreen! Skin cancer is no joke, and it's pretty bright up top with not a lot of coverage if you walk around to the lake. 4) Beware...No lights in the bathroom and really not the best place to use the loo. There however is a shopping center close by... 5) Look out of all sorts of critters from birds to bugs.. including ticks.
