Everytime I walk into this store I'm greeted with a smile and I love that. Hudson Plaza Wines and Spirits has an excellent selection and excellent staff. I have not once left without finding exactly what I needed. Staff is eager to lend a hand or give a solid recommendation. I was literally just threatened and screamed at walking out of this store for attempting* to return a six pack of moldy ciders. I was calmly and patiently trying to make a return and they were exponentially more rude as the interaction progressed. I understand they were close to closing time, but my sister, mother, and I were all screamed at as we exited the store, despite us still giving them business and remaining patient with them throughout the rude interaction. I was unable to make the return despite demonstrating that the ciders had moldy deposits floating in them, which I had noticed the day before when I poured one into a glass. I had literally just purchased the ciders yesterday, and the owner was kind enough to wipe the dust off the bottles and apologize for the dust to me while I made the purchase. I was told that "I better watch it" when I left the store, despite not raising my voice or getting angry whatsoever. I was told that I was lucky my mother was there, because otherwise they would've escalated the situation more intensively in so many words...my mother and father have both been giving them business for at least 20 years...I have been giving them business for at least 6 years...this was one of the rudest interactions and worst displays of customer service, or lack thereof, that I have ever experienced. Do not give this pathetic and trashy excuse for an establishment your business. They shouldn't even have a liquor license. read more

They have a great selection and all, but their service was terrible. This weird old guy butted in on my at the counter while I was paying and put all of his stuff on the counter then started screaming about the Mets. The larger middle aged counter woman barely acknowledged I was there, and continued to talk to the man about the Mets. So freakin rude. I said goodbye, twice, with no eye contact or response. I have been shopping here for years but never again. Selection is terrible but more importantly, the two sisters that work here are so ratchet it's disgusting. They threatened my mother and brother today--yes, you read that right--they THREATENED my family members for no apparent reason. They started screaming at my family and the other customers in the store for no apparent reason other than that they were "closing in one minute." They told us we better watch it...watch what, your revolting self stumble around and mutter incoherently? I can only assume they were sampling the product because there was no other reason for their trashy behavior. It was actually pretty funny right up until they started making threats and posturing. Anyway, my point is that if you don't want to get threatened then don't go here. I apologize to the owners and longtime employees because you have all been lovely, but I can no longer shop here and support the salary of these "ladies," as they will likely spend their money on awful tattoos and more ineffective make-up. read more
