For a small fee, you can enjoy a one on one experience with their friendly alpacas, or take a few out on a guided tour along the wintery trails. Perfect to soak up all the fresh crisp air. The farm is free to visit, the one on ones have to be reserved ahead of time and paid for. The farm is home for many animals, goat, pigs and you'll often find a few cats following you round as you explore. There's a gift shop on site, which you must stop in to see. They have lots of hand made items, from hats, gloves, to socks and so much more, most made with the fur of the alpacas. Also, They do have soaps and lotions that are made from the milk of the alpaca's, which is the most buttery soft lotions and luxurious soaps you'll ever use. The visit here is worth while, it's a unique way to spend some time with the animals and in nature.

The quality of these two products is basically unavailable elsewhere. The hot dogs are from grass fed beef and produced without nitrates. Out of this world flavor. The bacon? I bake off in the oven until crisp on parchment paper. Normally, I'm left with a ton of grease and very little bacon. With Kiernan Farm bacon, there was so little grease I almost didn't have to wash the baking sheet. Crisp and delicious. Highly recommended place to purchase from at local farmer's markets if you get the chance.

I'll never be a vegetarian but I try not to eat red meat except for grass-fed beef from trusted sources such as Kiernan (the occasional Shake Shack burger notwithstanding). No humans are that nice so their morning alien abductors may have performed some type of lobotomization making them super nice as representatives of the alien coalition. The place is small but if you truly take in all that it has to offer you can spend about a solid hour in here looking at the different displays they offer. I won't say exactly what they have as to leave some mystery to your visit but it's certainly an interesting museum for sure. I love the paranormal stuff so "aliens" aren't completely off the table for me in terms of curiosity. I wish I had known this place existed because I would have visited a long time ago. The museum is I'd say 75% alien themed and 25% paranormal. It's certainly geared more toward the UFO theme but still interesting nonetheless. In my opinion if you are making your way north for a getaway and can make it here in 30 mins or less, off your main planned route, I encourage a visit cause it's worth it if you want to add an extra activity to your travel itinerary. If this location brings you more than 30 mins from your route, unless you are seriously into aliens and UFOs I wouldn't go out of my way to visit. With that said, it really was a cool experience and the staff made it worth the price of admission with their kindness and knowledge.

My friend wanted to come…read morehere during her bachelorette trip as she previously did the nature walk and wanted to try the hike. The hike is almost 2 miles and for our group it took about an hour. Keep in mind this was with many delays. Let me delve into why I ranked this experience only 2 stars. The cost for the hike ended up being $60.00/pp after tax. I understand that the majority of this money is basically a donation and not for the experience but even then I would not have paid this much. There was about 10 goats who came on the hike along with 3 dogs. Now the problem is 2 of the goats they took on the hike, Luna and Oreo. They put red collars on these goats to indicate they are not friendly or that you shouldn't pet them. Oreo had a bell on his collar but Luna did not. The point of the bell is so you can hear the goat coming. Our guide Megan told us to generally stay away from Oreo and Luna since they weren't as friendly as the other goats. Additionally, they gave us ski poles to utilize during the hike to be used as a boundary between you and the goat. Oreo and Luna disregarded the ski poles all together. We gave them so much space and were actively avoiding them, didn't provoke them at all. Out of our group of 9 girls, 3 of us were attacked/headbutted by Luna or Oreo, including me. Oreo headbutted one of the girls so hard she fell to the ground. Not to mention once we got back from the hike we realized we were actually bruised red/black/blue from where the goats hit us with their horns. The problem was that Oreo and Luna have like an alpha problem where they don't get along. So if Luna is at the front of the line, Oreo doesn't want to be up there and vice versa. We asked Megan multiple times if she was able to slow down because Oreo would be in the middle of the pack, and after getting attacked, we were afraid to go around him. She reiterated that she couldn't come back to get him because if she double-backed then all the goats would follow her which would delay the hike. But the fact we couldn't go around Oreo delayed the hike. I just wish that they only brough one of the problematic goats and not both as it really delayed the hike and soured the experience. Or, have 2 guides instead of 1 which could handle both goats. Not to mention at the end of the hike you can pick out stickers of your favorite goat/dog. But if you get headbutted you get a special sticker to commemorate it. That means they are actively acknowledging the problem since they spent money on a custom sticker they give out to the lucky winners. I understand we signed a waiver but you never expect to be attacked. We all now have PTSD from bell noises. Honestly, if they didn't bring Oreo or Luna I think we would have had a great time on this hike.

An absolutely extraordinary place, it far exceeded our expectations. Driftwood Ranch offers a…read morelevel of luxury that we had not expected of a ranch experience. Rooms are absolutely beautiful with custom made furniture, large stone gas fireplaces, large bathrooms with heated toilet seats, and a design style that welcomes you and makes you feel that you are in a one-of-a-kind place. Our room had a bed canopy of branches filled with fairy lights, while our daughter's room had an amazing 15' long sculpture of a cattle drive done from a single log. The outdoor setting was equally beautiful. Within very short walks are fields that contain longhorn steer with the longest horns you can imagine, horse pastures, stall barns for the horses, a leather and gift shop, the dining area, and the indoor arena, and roads that lead to the two gates. There are two ponds on site with docks and places to sit, kayaks to borrow, and one has a giant caldron in which they light fires each night to sit around and make smores. In several places there are amazing sculptures from the on-site artist and others. The dining is family style with the primary members of the staff. Breakfast is what you would imagine having if you got up at 5am and worked a full morning of chores, eggs, bacon, biscuits, fruit, sausage, cinnamon rolls, yogurt, toast, etc. Prepare to gain weight. Lunch was typically a soup, bread, and a protein and grain bowl, and they were excellent. Dinner was huge and varied, and absolutely delicious. Everything was prepared by the fabulous Chef Craig who was a wonderful a person as his food was. The people who run Driftwood Ranch are extraordinary. The owner is a famous rodeo champion with multiple titles who now designs the most beautiful and unique homes I have ever seen. His partner was a successful barrel racer who is training horses and making gorgeous jackets for dogs. The husband and wife team who supported our riding experiences were a famous quarter-horse jockey who also makes amazing leather work and an acclaimed race horse trainer. Every person we met was pleasant, helpful, and had amazing stories from their event filled lives. We rode everyday we were at the ranch, including work in the barn and out on the private road. Our all-inclusive package included riding every day. In retrospect I wish I had added a lesson because three of our party are absolute beginner riders. In summary, Driftwood Ranch offered a chance to meet some amazing people who shared their enthusiasm and beautiful surroundings with us, and to whom we are grateful for the opportunity.

There was no one at the ticket booth as there was a sign that said to wait. So we waited a bit then we noticed another sign that said proceed to the snack bar - ok. So we paid for our tickets and started to order some snacks - they were all out of pretzels, they hardly had any desirable candy offerings and the large popcorn was barely warm, the butter was off and it was so salty we only ate half of it. I noticed they brought back a sampler plate with Mac and cheese bites, waffle fries, chicken tenders (I think) and pizza rolls for about $16. I would say there was about 20 cars in the whole place on a Saturday night. I have a feeling this place won't stay open much longer which is too bad as it's only 20 mins away from us and we really enjoyed coming here when they used to care more.
