We came here the other night to watch The Conjuring. We almost passed it up as the marquee wasn't lit up at all. Upon arrival we saw it was a ghost town - where was everyone? There was no one at the ticket booth as there was a sign that said to wait. So we waited a bit then we noticed another sign that said proceed to the snack bar - ok. So we paid for our tickets and started to order some snacks - they were all out of pretzels, they hardly had any desirable candy offerings and the large popcorn was barely warm, the butter was off and it was so salty we only ate half of it. I noticed they brought back a sampler plate with Mac and cheese bites, waffle fries, chicken tenders (I think) and pizza rolls for about $16. I would say there was about 20 cars in the whole place on a Saturday night. I have a feeling this place won't stay open much longer which is too bad as it's only 20 mins away from us and we really enjoyed coming here when they used to care more. read more

First drive in theater experience! We went during their reopening weekend so they had special deals. You pay an admission fee, tune in to their radio, and watch 2 movies. We watched The Father and Guardians of the Galaxy. During the first movie, there were staff going around making sure cars were parked in the right areas and conformed to lights off in cars. However, in the second movie around 11pm, cars would pull up to our site and leave their lights on for about 30 minutes completely blocking our view. Maybe the staff had gone home at that point but it ruined our experience of being able to enjoy our movie. Overall, the drive in was a great experience. Prices are reasonable and I would come here again. read more

The Fair Oaks Drive In movie theater is now back under the ownership of the Mege family. The same people who ran the drive-in from 1990-2013. Theater was closed in 2014. Open by two individuals 2015 did a poor job and that's putting it nicely. IGNORE the two negative reviews on the page they are from 2015. SPECIAL PRICING MONDAY Monday night special $5.00 per person Got there early and picked a perfect spot. The BIG outdoor screen is freshly painted I went inside to the concession stand. Decided to order the hot roast beef with gravy and french fries. The staff of course is very friendly and helpful. The concession area is all repainted re done and looking great I took my dinner out to my spot in front of the BIG screen and opened up my container and it looked absolutely delicious just the right amount of cheese not too much and just the right amount of gravy as well. It was perfectly cooked and was absolutely delicious flavorful juicy with the cheese and gravy complementing each other. French fries golden brown hot and crispy on the outside but nice potato flavor on the inside. Around 9 PM finding Dory started. The movie looked absolutely fantastic with the new digital projection system. The BFG was the second movie of the double feature. It was a very fun and entertaining movie good for kids and adults. Of course I also got some popcorn and it was very tasty perfectly prepared as well. I really had an excellent time. The staff very friendly and helpful. The food very reasonably priced delicious with lots of good choices. Make sure to look at the special heroes, that they serve Thursday through Sunday. The movie looking so good up on the GIANT Outdoor screen. The biggest drive-in screen in orange county in fact one of the very biggest in the United States of America. I'll definitely be making the trip back up to the Fair Oaks Drive In several times this season. As I have been coming since 1997 Sure to tell your friends family coworkers relatives neighbors. This is a nice Drive in Theatre but I have a few concerns that could be addressed with time. 1st thing is the amount of cars let in and out multiple times while the movie is being played. If your leaving so be it but letting them exit and return on multiple occasions is annoying. 2nd is it's to easy for cars to move around during the movie being played. maybe putting up a plastic chain link fence so you can't jump aisles from spot to spot until your happy. Lastly not an issue just a suggestion is that you need more trash cans especially during a Trunk or Treat. The Movie was great had no problems with radio station staff was nice but the cars sitting with lights on and moving around constantly drove me and a few others I didn't even know insane. Back under the original ownership the Fair Oaks Drive In is a family friendly drive in movie theater between Middletown and Bloomingburg NY just off the Fair Oaks exit on NY Route 17 The folks running the theater are really trying to bring this place back to its full glory. As of this writing there is one screen but they are hoping to have a second screen operational in the next few weeks. The snack bar is fully operational with your standard movie snacks in addition to home cooked meals if you want to have dinner and a movie. The price can't be beat for two movies if you want to stay up late. Sound quality is good for a broadcast over your FM radio. Picture quality is subject to a few variables such as the movie itself, the start time if the sun is still setting and the occasional annoying person who turns their headlights on during the movie. The reason to go here is for the drive in experience, which is a dying American breed If your a person who likes to hear and see the movie in excellent quality this is not for you. If however, you want to take the family and sit under the stars and watch a movie check it out A few last points. The grounds can get muddy if it has rained so get there early if you want a dry spot. Arrive early if you want an optimal view of the screen. A few SUVs with the hatchbacks open can destroy your view. If you plan to sit outside bring bug spray and a blanket as it can get buggy and cool in the evening. If you bring your kids and arrive early bring something for them to do until the movie starts. Lastly, remember you're here for the Drive-In experience so don't go see your favorite all time movie and expect to catch every scene and word. I'm really torn about leaving a review. On one hand, I've been to five shows this season and every one has been an awesome experience from start to finish. On the other hand, I don't want a million people to start showing up and ruining it! Let me start by saying we live 5 minutes from the Warwick Drive-In, but we drive 40 minutes to Fair Oaks because it's so much better. Better layout, better concession stand, shorter lines, and - definitely the biggest draw for us - they have been showing classic movies as part of the double features. Close Encounters, Jaws, The Wizard of Oz - we often go just for those! Already bought our tickets for the all-night Horror Fest; we can't wait! The only downside - and this is the case with any drive-in - are the audience members who don't know drive-in etiquette. Yes, it's a drive-in, but it's still a movie. Everyone paid to be here to watch the movie. Be respectful. Be quiet. And for the the love of God, TURN YOUR HEADLIGHTS OFF. THE WHOLE TIME. It would be great if the ticket booth explained a few rules to every car, and had an usher or two to enforce them. Anyway, if you're looking for a great drive-in experience, this is it! The front sign said that the Gozilla movie was going to be on the first screen and changed there minds and put it on small screen. Then it decided to rain and can't turn in car without the parking lights to stay off to turn the wipers, bc it bothers the other cars. So how are you supposed to see the screen when it is raining and can't turn on your wipers. They won't give a refund at all. Total bullshit and I spend so much money there, I will not being back. read more

We came here last week and were very happy with our experience even though the projector didn't work and we had to move to the other screen. They gave the option to move or get a refund. We're back today, and apparently they didn't want to hire enough staff to enforce social distancing rules like they did week. No masks and people parked on top of each other. Great Sunday night out! Had not been to a drive-in since I was a little kid, and honestly the memories all came flooding back. A Great Time!! I haven't been to the Drive-Ins in a very long time. I'm so glad I went. Staff were SUPER nice, the food was fresh (cook to order, NOT a hamburger puck waiting around) and quite tasty!!! And the price isn't bad at all... We saw the new Mission Impossible and Top Gun. A very fun night. There was some water spots because of all the rain we've been having, but it wasn't the end of the world. Coming back for sure! :-) read more

I'm a big movie theater person, so this was my very first drive in experience. The ticket people were very nice and friendly. The price $8/$5 was very good, especially since you ultimately get 2 movies. The sound through my car radio was very clear. We opted to bring chairs and sit out of the car - next time I will bring bug spray. This is not their fault...outside summer brings the bugs! The screen was big and we had no issues seeing. All the above was 4 stars....the rest of my review is 1 star....this averaged me to just 2 stars!!! THE FOOD WAS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING AND SUCH A WASTE OF MONEY! I love and crave movie popcorn. Large popcorn layered with butter (its my guilty pleasure LOL). I asked for extra butter and to layer it, the guy said this is what we do. I watched the girl fill my bucket (no layers of butter) and then SPRAY, yep spray butter, on top. I asked if that was extra butter, she said there's butter on it! We also got a hot dog and mozzarella sticks. First, you get your food then wait in line to pay...as your food gets nice n cold!!!! I watched them make the popcorn, yet mine tasted like it was 2 days old, whatever they sprayed was not even close to movie butter and a lot of 'crumbs'. The hot dog was pre wrapped and sitting under heat lamps - could only eat half it was so nasty. They make the mozzarella sticks to order in a fryer....I don't think they changed the oil from before they closed 2 years ago!!! It's was all so nasty....a waste of $14 When u go somewhere that says NO OUTSIDE FOOD, THAN YOU NEED TO OFFER FOOD THAT EDIBLE!!!!! We had a wonderful experience at the drive in at Fair Oaks. I'll start by saying we reached out to both Fair Oaks and Warwick to host my daughter's birthday party. Warwick would have been closer but they never got back to me. Glad for that because Fair Oaks went ABOVE and BEYOND to make sure my daughter had a great day. Prices were great, food great and service was spectacular. They even had a gift waiting for her. We are so happy the old Owners are back, the Mege family!!! This place hasn't been the same without them. Me & my husband have been coming here since we were dating and now we bring our daughter and our dog. It is a great family night out. The last couple of years though with the previous management things were horrible. The place was dirty, staff was ignorant, and honestly we stopped coming and really missed it. When I checked again online this year and found out the previous owners were back we immediately made plans to come and couldn't be happier. The concession stand and restrooms are immaculate and as always the food was fresh, hot, and delicious. As for the staff they are all very pleasant, friendly and courteous. It is a shame what the previous people have done to them. If you plan on going to a drive in theatre, I highly recommend Fair Oaks! You won't be disappointed.
