I was shocked. You know how lunch wasn't included ? Well I wasted a lb of coldcuts I brought with me because dinner is a feast! Portions are epic and the food is delicious. You'll be having your left overs for lunch the next day. Drinks besides water are not included so bring up your room card or credit card if you'd like some wine. Breakfast, it's a buffet. It's pancakes, cinnamon French toast, eggs, potatoes, danish, oatmeal, juices, pastries and an omelet bar. Entertainment- I was lucky enough to be there on one of the nights Keith Doughtery's production of, "The Souprano's: Villa Roma or Bust," was performed in the forum. Soo hilarious and interactive ! I mean, belly laughs! The next day he also led the sip n paint. My daughter is non verbal and I was really worried about meeting her sensory needs on this trip. There is an entire inflatable bounce room yall! She loved it! We played in the kiddie pool area. Then we went to the game room to do the craft (she made a visor) which was very nice. Also the game room has a smaller play area for the toddlers, she was a bit too small for the big slides in the playground (she caught some radical air though!). Everyone I spoke with was a Villa Roma regular, ready to share stories and experiences. One of the highlights was a dance party at night on the mezzanine (personally my favorite area, have an espresso martini and look out on the entire property from the balcony). Mind you, this has been an OVER $3200 stay for two nights. Shuttle? "Sure! There are spots! I'll reserve them for you!" Actual shuttle conversation morning of to confirm: "there is no room- it is booked; it is full." We responded with "we confirmed this in March and again this week." NO SOLUTIONS to make it better. For any of this. "Sorry." At 6:25 pm at the event we get a call. "Hey the shuttle is ready!" We had already been there for two hours. We could NEVER in good conscience recommend this place to anyone. What a deeply unwelcoming, confusing, inaccessible experience. The only thing that works here is the warm and sweet housekeeping folks and the toilets. The power outage was a massive problem only to be addressed with hostility and shocking indifference. Mind you, this was ONE 24- hour period. Stay away.

YO1: Where Wellness Goes to Die…read more YO1 is what would happen if The Shining and Nine Perfect Strangers had a baby, then abandoned it in the Catskills without Wi-Fi, housekeeping, or adult supervision. A few days before check-in, I called specifically to ask about the yoga and meditation schedule. I referenced a robust schedule I found on the YO1 website and was told a similar schedule would be available when I arrived. What they neglected to mention was that the entire "schedule" consisted of one yoga class on Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. There were also no guided meditations as advertised. Apparently, withholding basic information is part of the mindfulness journey. We also called ahead to confirm that Wi-Fi would be available. It wasn't. Yoga, meditation, Wi-Fi: all promised, none meaningfully provided. At YO1, amenities are less like services and more like affirmations--perhaps if you believe hard enough, they'll manifest. The "hot" tub was lukewarm. The pool was cold. The spa robes were visibly dirty and discolored. The robe and slippers in our room were never refreshed; instead, we received an empty slipper bag, an elegant little metaphor for the entire YO1 experience. We requested towels for the room, but they never arrived. Considering the condition of the robes by the pool, this may have been the closest the resort came to protecting our health. The furniture was peeling apart, the trim was scuffed, and the carpet had stains and crumbs large enough to qualify as their own wellness program. Nothing promotes inner peace quite like wondering whether your robe has already achieved intimacy with a stranger. The entire property was eerily empty. Not peaceful-empty. Not exclusive-retreat-empty. More like "the staff disappeared three winters ago, but the reservation system is still running" empty. At any moment, I expected twin wellness coaches to appear at the end of the hallway and whisper, "Come meditate with us...forever." For the past two weeks, we have repeatedly tried to request a refund directly with the hotel by both phone and email. We have received no response. Apparently, the vow of silence extends beyond the meditation program and into guest relations. YO1 advertises a wellness retreat but delivered one inconveniently timed yoga class, no guided meditation, nonexistent Wi-Fi, a cold pool, a tepid hot tub, dirty robes, missing slippers, undelivered towels, and deteriorating facilities. I did leave feeling transformed; however, I now have trust issues and a renewed appreciation for functioning hotels.

Their waterpark is only open from 11 AM to 7 PM when basically every other waterpark that I've ever been to is open at least 12 hours a day. When the waterpark is closed, there is nothing else available in this place. Food is almost impossible to come by and if you do, you will wait an incredibly long time. The waterpark is small and crowded. Almost all the restaurants are closed until five if they open at all. Our room which was over $400 a night was not what I expected in the bathroom looked like something that you would see in a prison with the drain in the middle of the floor of the bathroom no designated shower or bath area it's just a shower curtain which had molded all over the bottom of it, over a tile floor. Our garbage had someone else else's tissues in it and our shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were all empty. This made me wonder what we waited till 5 o'clock for because checkout is at 11 and check-in is at four. That's five hours for their staff to clean the rooms. I think that that is enough time if you were properly staffed which they are far from. It was the worst resort waterpark I've ever seen or been to. The manager, sabrina is elusive. I asked for her when Daniel was at the front desk when we were trying to figure out when our room was going to be ready and he couldn't find her and then the next morning I called down and got Sabrina on the phone, but she put me on hold for forcing me to go downstairs and then wait for her yet again. This place is so poorly managed. The only good thing I can say is that the employees were nice. And I think that that says a lot because they're constantly hearing how horrible this place is and they all know it. This was also the most expensive waterpark we've ever been to. Please save your money. This place is an absolute rip off, and you will be sadly disappointed.
