I ordered an expensive HVL floor lamp from Lumens. The lamp arrived defective. The socket can't be screwed into the base because there is too much wire between the parts. Lumens told me to call HVL. Three calls to HVL have resulted in nothing but misinformation and a waste of my time. They have no tech support, and do not stand behind their products. TERRIBLE customer service. This review is for Hudson Valley Lighting. I purchased 3 pendant lights that were non-returnable. We were building a house 8 hours away and just happened to be visiting our new home. At the last minute, I decided to inspect all my lighting since the electrician was coming out that day and we were heading back to our home in MI. Here is what we discovered - see photos attached. Thank god I purchased these pendants through Lighting New York, as they expeditiously resolved the issue for me. We had to delay our electrician, drive home for 8 hrs. with huge boxes obstructing our sight, and then go through the hassle of purchasing new lights. I would never order from them again. The worst, if I could give zero stars I would. No customer service, you can call your account associate as often as you like any time of day and they wont pick up, leave a voice mail and they wont call. Send as many emails as you want and no on will ever answer you. Try to escalate it and the same response. Why would anyone deal with such a crappy company. Never again Heres a thought, spend 2 minutes answering a call the first time, fix the customers problem, stop wasting your time and theirs and make the customer happy. read more

They are selling lights that they don't stock and won't have in stock for sometimes more than six months or according to the sales rep I talked to, sometimes people are waiting more than a year. They don't tell you this when you order though... it's always just a few more months. The lights are beautiful, just don't plan on actually getting them in a reasonable amount of time. read more

If I could give this zero stars I would! They have the absolute worst customer service, accounting, and their business practices are less than honest. I purchased some lighting in August of 2021 for a home we are building. On one of the orders, they charged and shipped 3 fixtures when only 2 were ordered. In addition, they charged freight where they shouldn't have but that portion has be rectified after a zillion phone calls. We requested a call tag to return the fixture and I would speak to a representative that would tell me the person sending it was on her way back to her desk and would send it within minutes and then NOTHING happened. We called more times than I can count and it took them 2 months to get me the call tag. Once received I sent it back immediately. They have now had the fixture since December 6. I have emailed them through their website - what a joke - and they simply do not respond. I have provided them proof of the delivery back to them down to the time it was received and the person's name who received it.....NOTHING. It is now 3 months later and I still do not have a refund so I am currently on hold while I am writing this email and it has been nearly 20 minutes with no one picking up. WARNING - do not buy from this company. They have shown no integrity of interest in serving their clients. Our designer has closed her account and she has been told by several others that they will no longer do business with Hudson. It has been a nightmare! I finally got through to someone in accounting who advised me that the reason I was on hold for 35 minutes was due to the fact that she was at lunch!!!!! Doesn't tell you that while you are on hold mind you. After sometime on the phone, clarifying that this was through my granddaughter's account and providing her all the information, she said there was a credit memo on the account. I asked why they had not refunded the money and are you ready for this.....she said I had to "ask" for it! So, I "asked" for it and she said it was processing. As soon as I hung up, they called my granddaughter and reamed her out. Screaming and yelling. They I got a call from the nastiest man I have ever spoken to saying he was from Hudson Valley Customer Service and that I had called and I was not an "authorized user" on the account and I explained that it was my granddaughter's account and it was MY credit card that was charged. He said I don't careand then he proceeded to THREATEN ME BY SAYING - you are not an authorized user and you CAN'T CALL here and if you call again, WE WILL CALL THE AUTHORITIES. Seriously, and what are they going to tell the authorities????? That I called to get a refund for a light fixture I never ordered but was charged for and that they never refunded the money. OMG these people are beyond despicable. PLEASE do not do business with any company that would behave like this. read more

Something is wrong at HUDSON VALLEY LIGHTING. There is NO WAY to contact them with a consumer question. The "submit" function on their website does not work. When you call the main number no one from any department picks up. When you use the business directory - even if you search for the president of the company - you are rerouted back to the voicemail. The only message I actually heard was from someone who - at 10:30 in the morning - said she was away at lunch. For forever apparently. They have good products but abominable customer service - steer clear. read more

Horrible customer service & crappy product. The finish is wearing off & the wall lamp is NEVER touched. I contacted customer service & was told that the finish coming off is because of the fingers that touched it during installation so there's nothing they can do for me. So apparently you're not supposed to touch it while you're installing it?? Piece of junk!! read more
