This place has fallen on hard times. Many of the stores have shut down. They remodeled it recently, though, adding beautiful murals of life in the area from bygone eras. Very nice touch. The new carpeting spruced the place up nicely, too. We thought it was the death knell when the movie theater shut down. But to our pleasant surprise, it reopened and is even better than before. Maybe it's too soon to call this mall out yet. Hopefully, better things are in store for it. The hair salons are reasonable and easy to get into. The nail salon has all the latest styles (including the fabulous cat-eye), and Savona's pizza is the best around. Maybe there is a second act for this mall. No stores. Dead Mall. Don't Come Here expecting to shop, You won't. The only open stores is a Target a Movie theater and 3 fitness places. The only good thing about this mall is the movies. They have a NCG cinnima. The Theaters all have really comfy seats that recline! read more

Nothing much has really changed with some more stores closing and also kiosks going. The food court and restaurants are nonexistent, despite the food court tables still being there, which I'm sure they'll upgrade to a bench area (I guarantee it). The mall is very well maintained and clean, which is a huge benefit of still bringing some life and customers into the mall. Honestly, I'm not sure how long this mall will last, this, and the Newburgh Mall still pushing these days. Time will soon tell. read more

A large area with a lot of art on the walls. Local areas and beautiful scenery from the area however as the major decline in the shopping era comes the mall is driven out. That being said at least half the mall is open and missing stores and the ones that are open are ghost towns. The typical dicks, movie theater, jewelers, urban clothing, and kids place are there. The typical food court but very small and very few options, but the large corridors are good for those older folks and mall walkers (that's me!). read more

This is a sad excuse to call a mall. A majority of the brick and mortar anchor tenants went bankrupt or left including Sears, JCPenny, and Macy's. Because of that, all of the in-line tenants suffered and also packed their bags. So what did they do? They boarded up the in-line stores to make it more aesthetically pleasing. Only one sliver of a section of the mall still runs and it's the side with Best Buy, Target, and Dick's Sporting Goods all on one side. Good luck reviving this dead mall. Might as well turn it into an Amazon fulfillment center. read more

Sad. Largely empty with a theater badly in need of updating. Old Navy might be the best store in the mall. Food court is empty - limited choices and poor ones at that. On the bright side, parking is no problem. read more

It's getting worse than worse here. It seems like once every other week when I come in, I'm hearing about more and more stores that are either closing or have just closed their doors. When I came in today, I found FYE and even one of the center court's H&M location closed for good (moving business online-only). But this place is seeing the major building of more barren walls around defunct stores. This is sad - and it's getting worse. But even then, this mall isn't seeing anything good going on with it. Around the corner which used to contain Macy's there's now a HealthQuest Medical Practice (Urgent Care) (heard Health Quest has become Nuvance Health but hasn't changed its name within Kingston's locations) but has become detached from the mall by the mall's orders. And even then, the loop road near that location has a large pothole that my car almost got stuck in the other day. (Right lane at the stop sign on the loop). There's still some life left in this mall, but not much. With the exception of the three major department stores all at the one corner (Target, Best Buy and Dick's Sporting Goods), no names are recognizable to most. The chocolate shop and Yankee Candle closed within the last 8 months, and so many others have gone out - even the failing Payless Shoe Store is defunct from this mall now. Chances are you pick a store in the mall outside of these and you actually go: you might want to actually call the business to see if the store still exists - stores go out quickly! The movie theatre has changed from something recognizable (Regal Cinemas) to a smaller local cinema with online ticketing (Fandango ticketing was introduced for this small chain a few months back). But this whole mall doesn't bother me. I'll stick with Walmart, except when I need something at either Target or Best Buy. (I don't want to drag up rumors of old information, but there were issues concerning BestBuy that didn't happen, as Best Buy is still there to this day.) read more

Hudson Valley Mall is small but somehow manages to carry all the basic major stores. -Target -Sears -Macy's -JC Penny -Best Buy -Victoria's Secret -H&M -Aeropostale -Express -Old Navy -Hot Topic -Food Locker -American Eagle -Payless Shoes -Bath and Body shop They definitely need an update for their movie theater and more dining options. However they have other stores and restaurants outside the mall in the area/street so you could easily find something else. I would rather go to Pogukeepsie Galleria for sure, but if that's not an option for you, then this mall probably could get you what you need. read more

This is the land of shopping hell, the world of Dollar Stores and PayLess shoes. The Macy's is fake. It was originally a Filenes. We thought it would take a few years for the merchandise to turn over and resemble Macy's goods, but, no. For a relocated Long Islander it's truly a horrific experience. ;-) If you arrive at the food court/movie theater entrance on Friday evenings, you will see a perimeter of police cars due to the charming clientele. You will have to wear a gas mask to get through the wall of cigarette smoke. Seriously - go to Crossgates or Colonie in Albany or go south. The stores here are a dime a dozen. read more

The only reason we came here was to go to the Regal movies on a rainy rainy day in June. I had time before the show to walk around the mall and do a little shopping. Not many stores to go in. Penneys, Macys both closed and many others! H & M is the only store I spent any time in. Needless to say I went to the theater early. The only thing this mall is good for is the movies! read more

I remember laughing a lot at the ads the Poughkeepsie Galleria would publish saying things like "London, Paris, Poughkeepsie" meaning they were trying to bill themselves as "high shopping." One of the reasons I like the Hudson Valley Mall is because - as far as I know - they DON'T do that. I think the variety of stores in this mall is appropriate for the area. The mall is clean and very well maintained. There's a decent amount of variety to the food court and restaurants. But I don't consider the mall itself to be a destination - it's someplace I would add to my itinerary if I had other reasons to be in the area. read more

On my way into the Catskills, I had to stop here to get some last minute supplies at Dick's. From the outside, this place looks like your typical dead mall. In reality, it's actually pretty healthy and busy. They have large anchor stores; JC Penney, Target, Best Buy, Dick's, and all of them seem to be doing well. Don't expect the glitzy stuff of the mega malls; this is a humble indoor mall with everything you actually need. read more

I love all malls in general. this one wasn't that bad. I've been to worse. we live by one of the best in the country so obviously nothing can ever compare :) but this was nice it had a few good stores and it was entertaining as we had something to do before dinner in the area. read more

The Saddest Mall I've Ever Seen I'm spending a few months in Woodstock and decided to go to the mall in Kingston to see if I might find something nice for my girlfriend for Valentines Day. Instead, I found the saddest mall ever -- the place was deserted, half the stores were closed, and the ones that weren't were populated only by two or three bored employees standing around with nothing to do. I decided to take a few pix just to show that I was not exaggerating, and pretty quickly "mall security" came out and demanded to know what I was doing (I was one of only a few so-called shoppers, so I guess I stood out). "Taking some pictures," I said. "Why?" "To show my girlfriend," I stated truthfully. "You're not allowed to," they said. "Okay," I replied, and left, thankful they didn't try and confiscate my iPhone. So anyway, now I know that the Hudson Valley Mall (the biggest in the area) (in fact, the only one in the area) is less than hopping, even on a Sunday afternoon: because it's the saddest mall ever. read more

The only mall in the area (unless you want to drive 45 minutes to the Galleria), and thus leaving little in terms of choices. This mall only has one floor, and it's more of a spreading outward layout rather than a spiraling upward layout. It has some pretty big name department stores, and some unique smaller ones as well. Your typical mall rat high schoolers hang out here on Friday and Saturday nights so watch out for that-especially around the move theater. The food court is pretty good considering how small the mall is, and I like to get a smoothie before doing my shopping. Overall it's not too bad considering it's the only mall around! read more

Would not reccomend. Most stores are closed. It's such a disappointment to see that most stores end up closing. Maybe the mall needs remodeling to attract more people? It's not very busy which can be a positive thing. Lines are short and quick. read more

What can you say? It's got all the store: Target, Best Buy, Dick's, Radio Shack, Sears, Macys, JCPenney. The food court doesn't have MCDonalds, but it has Taco Bell, Subway, East Wok. It even has a movie cinema! It has Buffalo Wild Wings in there somewhere... read more

I wandered around here one Saturday AM as I was visiting lovely Kingston, and I have got to say shopping here is great! I hate shopping in NYC where i live, so I thoroughly enjoy normal malls like this one. In the AM it was quiet, empty, clean and stores were fully stocked ready to go. in the evening, it was a bit louder with a ton of pre-teens/hipsters/emo high school students being annoying. But still a nice place to check out if you're in the mood to shop! read more

I feel bad giving "the mall" 2 stars because I have such fond memories of my teenage years being spent here. There isn't really any reason to go to the mall. If I ever go, it's because I've been shopping in either Target or Best Buy.....oh, and good place to get a cheap haircut. A plus is that it is a great place to walk around despite the crazy Hudson Valley weather. It's nice and cool in the summer and warm and safe to walk in the winter. I wouldn't imagine this place being any fun for kids to hangout and shop at. read more
