A decent selection of wines gets them one star, but that's about it. I was referred here on the recommendation of my friends, who said there was a very friendly and knowledgeable gentleman who worked there. I had been looking forward to a wine shop for regular wine stocking trips, since this place was convenient for me and has a large parking lot. And with my friends' recommendations, I had high hopes for this place. I arrived shortly before closing, with maybe twenty or more minutes to spare. The female salesperson seemed friendly at first but quickly ended up being too pushy and unattentive. I know exactly what I like in wine, but I was looking for a gift. I was looking for recommendations from someone who has experience with what other people generally like. Given a price range for a gift, she made me feel like she didn't care what I got, as long as I got something immediately. At one point, she even laughed at one of my wine preferences. I've never been treated that way at any wine store, vineyard, or restaurant before. The male cashier was extremely rude, kept yelling out that they were closing, and had a very bad attitude. I checked out with 10 minutes before but they were so rude they made me feel like I had made them stay later than they wanted. The cashier made some snarky remark as I was checking out. Really, if your store sign says close at a certain time, you shouldn't be closing out the register 20 minutes before that time. You also shouldn't treat customers so rudely . If so, just change your damn sign and close the doors early and save people the crappy experience. If it weren't for the fact that I needed to get this gift that day, I would have just gone elsewhere. I'd definitely stay far away from this place in the future. read more

This is one of the top 5 wine shops in the NYC metro area. They have a very good selection at phenomenal prices, and the service is simply stellar. This is my go to spot for liquor and liqueur. If they don't have it, Bobby will special order it for you, and Nora will notify you as milestones are reached, including when the item is available for pick up. And they still special orders at their discounted rate. Additionally, their website is well organized and online orders are ready to ship or for pick up in no time. A little difficult to find the first time. In a strip mall with its own parking lot. I was specifically looking for various tequilas and this shop had a selection for NJ that was way above average. They had things that I definitely have not seen in other local stores. Prices good/very fair. At least for tequila. I think they focus on wines and again seemed pretty decent. I looked at red Zinfandel and they had Orin Swift but no Turley. I would recommend this shop. read more

From the outside it looks like a regular wine shop, but once inside you see everything is setup similar to a costcos, but not as organized as costcos. If NO STARS were allowed I would definately use this rating. I ordered 6 bottles of wine on Friday, 12/13 and recieved a confirmation from them. With Ground Shipping (Fed Ex) I should not recieve the order any later than Tuesday, 12/17. I had it shipped to my offices since my boss was giving them as gifts. I expected them to be here when i returned from Vacation on 12/19. I called them to ask what the tracking # was and she said that they had not yet shipped it. Her name is NORA.. her excuse was that i put special shipping instructions on the order... She said she was going to call me today (12/19)... of course after i called them. But my question is.. WHY DID SHE WAIT till Thursday of the next week when the order was placed the Friday (12/13) before? Plus she sounded like she didn't care and used every excuse in the book.. it's Christmas.. blah blah blah,, yes that is why i ordered on 12/13 and did not wait till i got back. GOOD LUCK.. A good wine store not too far off Main Street where they have a good selection of wines/liquors and very helpful staff. Prices are reasonable and although I wish they were opened later (closed M-Th 8pm; F 8:30pm), I can't complain. I've picked up a few good bottles of sparkling wine, a west coast red, and most recently, a wonderful 2007 Punto Final Malbac. I think the best part of Hudson Wine is that it's on my walk home and I always wonder what I am going to pick up next. read more

My review is based on a phone inquiry I made to the store one morning this week. John/Jon was so helpful and went above and beyond to answer my questions and assist me. He is friendly, knowledgeable and really knows how to make the customers feel valued. I am making this place my go-to based on the level of customer service alone. Owners should feel lucky to have an employee like him who operates the store as if it's his own and provides the utmost customer service in an industry where hospitality is crucial. Most people are just eager to finish their shift and be out by the end of the day. I will definitely return next time i need to stock up my wine fridge. This man deserves a raise! read more

Fort Lee is a small town, so I was excited to see a wine market as opposed to any generic liquor store. Parking is in a shared plaza with several other stores restaurants, so depending on the hour and day, it could be right in front or very hard to get a spot. I have to say they did offer some nice specials for various bottles and they do stock some pretty rare and expensive varieties, but... and a major but... the selection is very very small. They do not have a great variety of any wine. I was so disappointed in their offerings for Malbec, Carmenere, Cabernet Savignon etc. They also do not feature a vast selection of regions: California, Spain, France, blah blah. Of the 15 cabs they had, I've tried maybe 10, most obtainable from a grocery store. My husband who was with me liked their rum selection and felt that had some unique bottles, but the establishment is called a wine market. Wine should be the reason you visit their shop. As far as selection goes, they have a lot. Wine, beer, whiskey, the works. Their service? Questionable.. took a while before someone asked if I needed help, which I did because all the good stuff is behind the counter and I couldn't go up and look at what I wanted. I don't get why the hard liquor is behind the counter... the rest of the store seemed messy and disorganized. The price didn't really help their situation either. There are lots of liquor stores in the area, I suggest you try those out first. Probably the one and only time I come here. read more

I ordered a case of wine as a gift, to be picked up. Said specifically in the memo that it was a gift and listed the recipient's name. When the recipient went to pick up the order, the owner interrogated him, asked him exactly what wines were included. He didn't know because it was a gift. He gave her my name and his, but she still refused to give him the case. She was rude and unprofessional. Never bothered to contact me regarding the order to sort out the confusion. I placed an order with them for three bottles of liquor primarily because they offered the best price I could find for a particular bottle that was hard to find. The next day they sent me an email telling me they canceled my order because the price on this particular bottle was incorrect. They invited me to place a new order in which the bottle would be about $12 more expensive, even though their price was only $3 less expensive than the second best price I found. I took my business elsewhere. They should have honored the price they took my order at, its not like it would have been a ridiculously low price, just a good deal. read more

I have bought more than 30 bottles of Hennessy XO in three separate orders. All came nicely packaged. My 09/03/2013 order was more than 10 bottles for a weekend party. I was afraid the Hennessy might not came in time for the wkend party, so after placing my order online, I called HWM and requested them to ship the order out same day. Later that afternoon, I received a FedEx notification saying my order has been shipped. A+++ customer service! I'm about to order another 8 bottles after writing this review. I ordered 2 bottles of Don Julio 1942 from Hudson Wine Market. The packaging was over the top and it was shipped and received within 3 days. I highly recommend this store to anyone. My experience with them was exceptional!!! Not to mention there awesome prices, these bottles sell for $140 a piece at local liquir stores and I got them for $81 each.
