I been here a few times and every time I had a solid meal and good time chatting with friends and catching NFL and NBA games. This rating is based on my overall experiences from coming here. Came here on a Friday night, it wasn't crowded and was a chill vibe. I got my usual order, marinated steak sandwich, I will say, there is less protein than I was expecting (Shrinkflation?) but it was still good. I really like the battered fries, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. This place fell off a lil from the last time I've been here (over 2-3 years ago?). I'm only giving The Beer Spot two stars because of the bartender. She's genuinely friendly and easy on the eyes. If there's anything else positive to say, you won't find it here. I ordered the chicken wings. Something went seriously FUBAR. Had they not tasted like thawed roadkill from the Jersey Turnpike heated up by Satan himself, I'd have guessed they were still chasing the chicken around out back, because 25 minutes is way too long to wait for wings. As for the "buffalo sauce," maybe they ran out, because what arrived looked like wings rolled across someone else's plate. Dry, sad, and flavorless. I didn't even finish them... something inside looked discolored and tasted a bit fishy. My stomach immediately said, "Nope." The beer list? Fairly decent on paper. But the beer itself wasn't cold enough -- more like slightly chilled tap water than the crisp pint you actually want. In short: swill unfit for pigs, rescued only by a pleasant bartender. Two stars. This has come to be one of my regular spots to visit when looking for a great selection of beer on tap. Their beer selection is vast and rotates so there is always something new on the menu. Their food is good, I usually get their classic burger/buffalo wings/fries, which are all tasty! Staff are welcoming, knowledgeable of beers on tap, and spot on with recommendations. Comfortable old fashion sports bar in Fort Lee with large TVs. Lots of drafts on the menu and prices were very reasonable. We tried 6 different types of beer here and everything was pretty good! Had their garlic parm wings, kobe sliders and the penne vodka. And I was pretty impressed with how delicious the food was! Way better than your average sports bar food. The wings were very flavorful and tasty. The sliders were perfectly cooked and seasoned as well and so was the penne. The only thing was the slow service. Everything took a while, including flagging the waitress down for another beer. But honestly, it was not a deal breaker and the waitress was very polite. Overall, a solid spot in the Fort Lee area! They let a customer sit at the bar with a full grown bull dog. And a smaller puppy as well. They literally had the dog bowls on the bar. How DISGUSTING! Known for their selection of beers, and for good reason. Nice variety, fresh and tasty. The food I enjoy as far as bar food goes (burgers are quite satisfactory). Being in the center of Fort Lee makes it a hot spot in evenings, with a small outdoor dining area (with absolutely no view). Overall quite enjoyable, but the service, although friendly, needs a bit more training on keeping their response level where it should be for its clients. The only recommendation I would like to offer the owners, it to upgrade the place a little. The bar is tired looking, and not it a cool divey way. read more

Still love their burgers! Came in recently after spending a day at the Cloisters and Inwood Hill Park. If you're driving it's just a hop over to NJ, about 15 minutes, and worth it to sit on their lovely back patio as the sun sets. My waitress Charlotte was attentive and friendly. Indoor seating is spacious with very large windows up front. Jukebox too. Plenty of drafts and cans to choose from. My burger was excellent. Juicy, topped with bacon, mac n cheese, avocado, and onion strings. I also slathered it in this honey bourbon BBQ sauce they have, sooooo good. Stumbled across this place and decided to stay for dinner. It was loud because it was trivia night, so we couldn't really have a conversation. The DJ/MC was entertaining but we were too late to join in. Nobody was at the host stand when we arrived and a fellow customer actually had to wave a worker over to come seat us. They had a long list of drafts beers that was impressive. I ordered the steak sandwich with truffle fries. One of the most flavorful steak sandwiches I have EVER had. I came here on a Friday night, when they had a local musician singing away at some of my favorite oldies (perk). I took a long hard stare at the drink menu and finally picked out a craft beer based on it's silly name and luckily it was delicious. Decided to give this spot a try as we were looking to grab a quick bite to eat and a nice refreshing beer during the day and this spot did not disappoint. We sat inside since it was over 90 degrees and the waitress/bartender was super helpful with the narrowing down of beers. This spot has quite a selection so there is definitely something for everyone! I can't remember which beer I ended up getting but the bartender made sure it was something I would like as she gave me two to taste before I picked one. For food, we ended up just sharing two appetizers which I did not expect the presentation to be as nice as it was! We got the Garlic Shrimp which came over fried plantains in a yummy garlic white wine sauce and they did not skimp on the shrimp! Each fried plantain came with 2 shrimps each and was cooked very well. The Red Snapper Ceviche was also really good and was more than enough for us to share and feel satisfied! We ordered both of our burgers medium rare but they both came out very well done. We sent them both back and after waiting 15 minutes, we got our burgers. The patties were medium rare this time but my brother's burger had raw, cold mushrooms in it when they were supposed to be "sautéed." Would not recommend his restaurant to anyone else. This place has a sports bar atmosphere but not too crowded or crazy on weekdays. Just perfect amount of people drinking beer after a long day with some food. They have happy hour for each day. Pretty cool joint, went in for a drink with friends late before the kitchen closed and the server Adrian was patient and helpful with running our order. Marinated steak sandwich was bomb definitely paired well with my Lager. My friend has the chicken hummus panini and that was really flavorful too. The bartender informed us about happy hour Long Islands and boy she read our minds, thats exactly what we came for $10 L.I.I.T pitchers yes! If I could give zero stars I would. Two servers working on a Friday night and one of them seemed to be on drugs. She was the most incompetent worker I've ever had. It took her 10 minutes to get us silverware which I wish was an exaggeration. I told her that I had a dairy allergy and I don't think she informed the kitchen since my meal was completely dairy. I grabbed the first good pub nacho I've had in forever--actual cheese, browned under a broiler, fundido on the side which everyone should do I just realized, and do I detect coconut oil in the pico? If there was an option to give zero stars, I would in a heart beat. I don't even know where to start with my experience here at The Beer Spot and Grill. The restaurant wasn't even busy- there was one large table that was finishing up and one couple on a high top table. There were 11 of us that got seated right away. My friend and I arrived a little later. When we got there, our server was taking orders and told us he would come back to take ours when he brings out the drinks. 20 minutes passed and our server didn't come back with our drinks and to take our orders. My friend and I went up to the bar to flag someone down. Juan, the general manager, didn't take our order as he stated he didn't want to confuse the server so we had to wait for him as he finished separating the bills for the large party. Order was finally taken. Long story short, it took awhile for our drinks and food to come. Food were not bought out as the same time. Nachos arrived last when everyone else was done with their food. Knives and forks were not given after requesting them. I had to go up and grab them myself. The worse part was the poor customer service from the Juan. He was completely rude and not professional. He was very resistant to our requests since the beginning and raised his voice stating that we were being very impatient and stated it was their policy to not split the checks. I saw one of this servers splitting the checks for the large table and he didn't want to take our order since we will be a separate check and to wait for our server to avoid confusion. He was being very impolite and picked fights with us rather than rectifying the issues. He stated there was a large party in the back. Okay. I get it. Why are you understaffed on a Friday night then? We ordered Shrimp & Steak Tacos which came with pico de gallo, guacamole, soup cream, and scallions. (11) Nothing special about the shrimp taco. Looked like a ton of baby shrimp tossed in. We were still hungry and asked for something else, we were suggested the Nachos. (8) It came with tortilla chips, Monterey jack & cheddar cheese, shredded lettuce, jalapeno, roasted corn, guacamole, pico de gallo, and scallion crema. We thought it was a great idea, but did not know the up charge of the chili and chicken. The waitress asked if we wanted those items without letting us know it was an up charge.
