The influx of…read moreinquiries and applications has forced Saint Leo to renovate some of the historical one story buildings to three story buildings. I obtained my BA from Saint Leo back in 2011 and the campus was beautiful with a lake in the back, palm trees through the campus, tons of open areas with shaded seating areas, and plenty of space to throw Frisbee or just relax. I am now back in their Graduate program because I couldn't stay away. I take a majority of my classes at a small Lakeland location that is included in the Sykes building, but I had to make the 1hr drive to the University campus for this most recent class and I couldn't be more excited. I was bummed out when I first heard that I had to make that long drive after work, but all those negative thoughts disappeared when I stepped foot on campus and witnessed all the changes that occurred since I graduated. The Crawford building (mostly criminal justice classes) was transformed from a one story building to a 3 story masterpiece called Kirk Hall. The bottom floor has some cutting edge classrooms with touch screen monitors, computers for use, and 2 separate seating areas. The new Donald Tapia business building is also a 3 story building that has innovative layouts for the classrooms. The library is incredibly cozy and most of the buildings have free coffee for anyone. The campus is smaller because it is a private school, but I can't help but want to learn when I walk around. I may consider just making the drive once a week to the main campus because I love the atmosphere so much! Watch out for parking though! All parking lots require a yellow or red parking decal and a ticket or towing could be a result if you don't pay attention. There is only 1 visitors parking area in the front by security, but there is also a LARGE parking garage located towards the back of the school that also shows you how many spots are open. Guests can park anywhere after 5pm, so just keep that in mind. Be careful when first entering the campus. There is a round about and students routinely speed straight into the round about without looking. There is HUGE level change from going in or going out of the round about, so be careful with bottoming out for your car's sake. The events are never ending on campus with plenty of public attendance encouraged, so be on the lookout for credible guest speakers and performances that will blow your mind! GO LIONS!!!!!!!!!!!

I just received a phone call from a collections company saying…read morethat my tuition was sent to collections for past due tuition that they charged me for the summer. Even though I had withdrawn, was using the GI bill and had not received any correspondence stating that I was being charged tuition for a term that I was not enrolled in. I called, after waiting an hour on hold, and they said that maybe my counselor signed me up for courses. Now I have to contact admissions, get a statement from them that I was not logged in or attending the summer session and still have to go through the collections company to pay. All of the correspondence that I had received were text messages asking how the semester was going, which I always replied I am not enrolled or attending. Thanks for ruining my credit with putting something in collections that shouldn't have been there to begin with.

We went to this library for toddler storytime. Since I was visiting from Orlando I was really…read moresurprised at how big, new and sparkling this library was! The storytime was so-so, but you can't complain since it was FREE and the kids seemed to enjoy it. The library looks brand new with several meeting rooms and a tall ceiling with lots of glass windows to let in plenty of natural light. They have a large collection of books and a dedicated children's area with books easily accessible in bins, blocks, table activities and board games.

New River Branch Library also has a little garden and a butterfly garden! They're encouraging people to grow different fruits and veggies there. I didn't have time to assess all the new amenities but from what I see, I'm liking the upgrades. There is a dedicated room from children with computers and a few toys. The main area was rearranged and there are also other study rooms to utilize. There is a garden outside as well as an indoor hydroponic garden. They looked earnest & engrossed in their duties. Friday, 5/2/22, I visited this library for a one hour lesson in writing a "love letter will." It was interesting and I learned a few things. It was also a pitch for estate planning and wills, but I'm happy with our attorney and our will. I took the useful brochure with me. Afterwards, I wandered down the wide hallway to the double glass doors to peruse the books for sale in the front of the library. Prices were reasonable. I also looked around at the plethora of books and other materials that patrons could check out. But I had to call this visit short. I had to hurry to Palm Harbor to lead a class (Tai Chi for Balance). I hope to return for a more in depth look at what this majestic library offers.

This is a very nice library. I love that they have story times for different age groups and a play…read morearea for small kids. On Wednesdays they have baby time at 11am and I believe at 10am as well. Baby time last for 20-30 minutes and they are lead by very engaging and sweet story time tellers. We do sign language, sing songs, do hand games, and read stories. The babies love it. And then afterwards we usually go to the play area in the back. Not every library in this county has one. She enjoys playing with the other babies and we also read books in the children's library. Customer service is always amazing. Everyone is so nice. And the place is always clean and has a lot of natural light. It's very refreshing coming here.

This is a huge and nice library. It is very quiet and clean. As normal libraries, they have…read morecomputers (to include Mac's), printers, and meeting rooms. They also have plenty events for children. They have a snack and "break area". This location also stays later than most in the Riverview, Brandon, Apollo Beach area. They have multiple rooms that we frequently use for my neighborhood homeowners associate meetings. We have used the Art Studio for a meeting. It has local art (also throughout the entire library) and children art. When using that room it's long tables with various type of chairs and obviously, paint supplies off to the side but out the way when it comes to meeting time. We have also used the Community Room. This meeting room has a divider to adjust for small and large groups. This room has a more professional setting and the space to rearrange if need be. My only complaint is for the entire Hillsborough County Library. When reserving a room, you will never speak with an employee. The process is pretty inconvenient. You call and leave a voicemail, and they'll contact you back in the order of all their voicemails. If they can not hear your number you left in the voicemail clearly, you will not get a call back. The turn around time is usually within a week. There is also an email process.
