I would highly recommend Hughes Kitchens and Bath, who recently remodeled our kitchen. We spent the better part of six months interviewing and researching many contractors for our job. Mike Pierce (President) at Hughes was the first contractor we met with and the one we kept on going back to. He was personal and professional, and by no means high pressure. He spent ample time talking with us and answering our questions, and even recommended ways we could cut costs for our project. He consistently was flexible meeting with us, taking the time to stay late on a Friday or coming over to drop off samples. Hughes also contracts out the price of the project prior to the project, so the overall cost is not an "estimate" that can fluctuate greatly throughout the project. Once we gave the project the green light, there was roughly a three month wait to start of project, which for us was a good sign that their services were desired. Once the project started, we were assigned Bernie as our "lead," meaning he was the main man for our job. Bernie was efficient and more than met my expectations. He was prompt on a daily basis, addressed any needs that arose during the project, and went above and beyond what he was expected to do. He cleaned up every day and was never too loud. As a stay at home mom with two small children, I felt comfortable and safe having him in the home. And my children looked forward to seeing Mr. Bernie on a daily basis. The overall time for the project is more of an estimate, but I know Bernie came in under the time Hughes had allotted him. Overall, I would recommend Hughes to anyone who asks. And if I have another project in the future, I would use them again! read more

We currently had a small kitchen remodel done by Hughes Kitchens and Bath. Our project was projected to take about 5 days and it was completed in 61/2 days, which was fine by us. Our installer,Tom took the time and effort to give the best possible outcome we could hope for. He was careful with the demo and took the time to prep our counters and walls correctly. He selected the travatine that was prepared for our job carefully and rejected any travatine tiles he thought would not blend with the overall backsplash that we were thinking. He consulted us whenever there was a decision to be made that may affect the outcome of the project. He told us that he would arrive at 7:30 and complete his day's work by about 3:30 each day, and kept to that schedule for the entire job. We found this schedule was helpful in keeping as normal a routine as possible, and rare among today's workers. Tom did not rush through the job as if he just wanted to get it done. We also felt Hughes did not push him to, " get it done quickly" . Again,rare with today's contractors. Tom was prompt, courteous, and skilled. We felt he worked as if he was working on his own home. We had little to no mess at the end of each day, and Tom always cleaned up and took his tools, drop cloths, and did not leave us with everything cluttering our home. This was not the biggest remodel, however, we were extremely pleased with the outcome and had no issues to resolve with the company. We couldn't have been more pleased with every aspect of our experience with Hughes Kitchens & Bath! From the first time Tony came out to look at our kitchen to the final result, everything was handled with the utmost attention to detail, courtesy and respect, and the most fantastic quality product. And their price was great! We paid so much less for handmade cabinet doors of solid maple than the price we received from another contractor for pressboard covered with plastic to look like wood. Our carpenter was Jeff and we came to trust him implicitly. His attention to detail, knowledge of the job, and demand for perfection were amazing to see. We began to say that "if that's what Jeff recommends then that's what we want to be done." The transformation to our kitchen is so dramatic that it's hard to believe that we chose the "kitchen makeover" because it looks like a completely new, custom made kitchen. We have recommended Hughes Kitchens and Bath to our friends, and now they are getting a new kitchen too! I'll keep recommending them because I'd hate to see anyone get ripped off by those other companies that are installing shoddy products for three times the cost, and using questionable sales practices to do so. A new white kitchen in Solon, Ohio! We recently had our 26-year-old kitchen cabinets refaced by Hughes Kitchen and Baths out of Canton, Ohio. From start to finish, we have been so impressed by the professionalism, courtesy and quality of results with our kitchen project by Hughes. The owner, Mike, was very pleasant to deal with and explained the process very well. He provided an estimate very quickly! After receiving estimates and sales visits from 4 other local cabinet companies, it was an easy choice for us to give our business to Hughes. We scheduled the work to be done after the holiday season, which they accommodated. The project time at our house was 9 days. Our Hughes installer, Curt, was the best! He was super prompt on his starting time all 9 days. His work, craftsmanship, friendliness and meticulous detail was incredible! Curt asked for feedback along the way regarding cabinet hardware placement and also kept us well informed of progress and next steps so there were no surprises. Hughes Kitchens & Bath recently remodeled the main bathroom on the second floor of our home. This bathroom was in poor condition and had water problems from the tub/shower which leaked down through the floor through kitchen ceiling below on the first floor. The owner's son was our sales/design contact for our project and he was very professional during each meeting. He listened to my design requests for this room and answered and explained each step through the process and the products that would be used in our remodel. The contractor assigned to our project was very professional and took pride in his work. He was on time each day, answered my questions as he did the demolition and each step of the work throughout the project. He kept the work area clean including the area within my garage where he worked to customize wood trim and tile used in the project, He instructed me on how to maintain and clean the products installed (tub, vanity, sink, flooring). We had a small job, just replacing the flooring and toilet in our bathroom. The salesman (Tony) took his time working with us to get just the right toilet to fit our space and made arrangements for us to pick our flooring at a more convenient location (we're relatively far from Canton). Tony visited our house shortly before the contract date to confirm and finalize the contract. On the stated date, within our desired window in February 2017, the workman, Jeff, showed up on time and started prepping the bathroom. He was always willing to discuss and explain. It took him four days to do the work, partly because he was so meticulous in his work. The floor plan was complicated and he made the flooring fit perfectly; he did a great job on the special trim we requested for the bathtub edge, and he very carefully custom cut, primed, and fitted new shoe molding. His cleanup was also meticulous, and he offered the large remaining pieces of flooring for us to keep. Everything was done well, on time, and looks great! read more

We are very happy with the complete kitchen remodel that was finished in May 2019. The entire team was very professional, courteous and responsive in their dealings with us. Hughes spent significant time in advance with us, which included in home visits, so that they could learn how we wanted to use our kitchen, match woodwork and other colors used in home and determine the best possible design layouts for us to select from. The remodeler\carpenter assigned to our project was a perfect choice as his attention to detail and work was superb. This is critical when you have an older home as the walls and floors are not always level and exact due to settling of the foundation over time. It was important for us to have a work site that was kept as clean and dust free as possible. In addition we had hardwood oak floors that are in very good condition that had to be protected during the project. Our experience with Hughes remodeling our second floor bath several years ago was one of exceptional quality of workmanship and materials. Because of this, Hughes was the only contractor we contacted when we wanted to update our kitchen this summer. Tony helped us design our look, bringing multiple samples to our home several times over, because of some health issues I have. The finished look is wonderful. Curt did precise installations of counter tops, 3 flooring islands, and a checkerboard kitchen flooring. Great workmanship! Every detail was addressed with efficiency and courtesy. Dates for installation were effectively communicated by our installer, Curt. Hughes whole staff worked with us regarding my health and allergy issues making this another wonderful, professional, and delightful remodeling event! We originally sought out Hughes to reface our kitchen cabinets since we thought we wanted to keep the countertops the same. Although they can do this, when we really dug into the project, it really wasn't worth saving the countertops, and we did a complete kitchen remodel (countertops and cabinets). The remodel in general went very well, and they (Mike and Steve) worked pretty hard to get it right. There were minor things: water leak when ripping out the original sink damaging some basement ceiling tiles; very slight gap (3/8") between countertops and cabinets that was well concealed with trim pieces; some minor communications issues on what day they were starting and the job scope not originally including some closet remodeling. All of these were remedied with the sales rep, Dusty. We're happily enjoying the new kitchen. As for cost, they were competitive with a second quote that we had received (within $400) of a ~$25K purchase. read more

Having just completed remodeling our kitchen and laundry room, both my wife and I are completely satisfied with the design, the quality and attention to detail of all the work done by Hughes Kitchen and Baths. The men who did the primary construction were an absolute delight to work with. Nate never meet a challenge he couldn't solve and we had a few which he resolved in stride with little or no delay. John's perfection in precision cabinetry and trim detail is flawless. Workers arrived precisely everyday and worked diligently the entire length of their shift. We did a complete bathroom remodel and hired Hughes Kitchen&Baths. We did run into some issues and had to stop the project mid-way. We were very unhappy with the quality of the work. We spoke with Mike (the owner) who assured us that the situation would be remedied. The job was put on hold for 2 weeks while new supplies were ordered. Mike honored his word. A very talented young man named Tyler was sent to finish the project. He did a beautiful job! We couldn't be happier. I was very worried since Tyler was walking into the middle of a mess that someone else created which he had to undo and do it the proper way. I am very pleased with my new bathroom. I had thought to try to keep my original pink tile for sentimental reasons. (My family had owned a tile and marble company while I was growing up.) I knew they had not installed the tile but still memories. It was impossible to try to match it to do the changes I wanted. Dusty helped me pick out a beautiful selection for the remodel. I now have a walk in shower with grab bars and a toilet that is raised but does have a special built in seat for the grandkids (toddlers). I feel more secure with my footing in the tile floor in the shower area. Curt did a great job installing everything and Brian made a beautiful vanity that has a special feature for my laundry shoot. January 2016 We hired Hughes Kitchens to refresh our kitchen, bathroom, and laundry room cabinets. The cabinets were oak, about 24 years old. The doors and hardware were removed. Then the remaining parts of the cabinets were painted. New wood doors were installed and completely covered the painted areas of the cabinets. The new color is off-white. The hardware was installed perfectly. The kitchen looks beautiful! The installer was always respectful of our opinions. He encouraged us to ask questions. And he always provided an answer. Hughes Kitchen and Bath recently completed my home remodel project that included a redesign of my fireplace, refacing of my 1996 cupboards in my kitchen and bathrooms, and installing new counter tops in two bathrooms. They estimated the job would take 4 weeks to complete and it was finished in 4 weeks. I am extremely satisfied with the job Hughes did. My house is finally updated and looks fantastic. Jeff was my installer, and he did an excellent job. He left my house cleaned up every day, and I never felt uncomfortable giving him access to my house. I had my kitchen and bathroom cabinets refaced last week. I am so pleased with how it all turned out. Hughes was so easy to deal with from beginning to end. If I had any issues they quickly addressed them. My work was done by one man Curt. I was amazed that he did all the work himself from painting the cabinet trim, installing pull out shelving, putting on the new drawer fronts and the cabinet doors and hardware. I had a new tile floor put in the bathroom and Curt did an awesome job with that as well. I would highly recommend Hughes for any remolding you need done. We had major cabinet remodeling done in our kitchen, and a new high end master shower installed, and updated vanity. Harry was the remodeler who did virtually all of the work, from refacing our cabinets to tile/granite installation in the master bath. He did an outstanding job and was very, very detail oriented. Both projects were pricey, but we feel we received outstanding service and quality for a fair price. Mike Pierce, the owner, was fantastic to work with and was instrumental in helping us make decisions about cabinets, fixtures, tile and so on. We would highly recommend them.
