A small but great restaurant. I returned after first eating here 5 years ago. Lots of fish, well cooked & presented. Friendly staff & delicious food. An intimate little restaurant. We had 3 course with a bottle of wine for €100

Came here recently while my boyfriend and I were visiting Paris. Strolled by and were easily able to get a table on a Saturday evening. Ordered a bottle of wine to share, the foie gras appetizer and we both got the duck with fig sauce and vegetables for our main course. The foie gras appetizer was deliciously rich with cranberries and so yummy. The duck entree was a bit overcooked, but absolutely fantastic with the fig sauce. The other veggies on the plate were also plentiful and very good. We decided we may as well get dessert because Paris and split the creme brulee. It came a bit cold, but was also very good. Service was great throughout the meal as well, even though there was one person managing all of the tables. Adorable for a cute date spot or a fun meal out.

After my friend and I RESERVED a table at the restaurant, the owner after hearing us talking in English pretend not to have a table for us. Although there were 4 empty tables, he sent us away. At first we thought that it was a mistake so we left and went to eat somewhere else. But when we passed in front of it an hour and half later the same 4 tables were still empty. We checked the email from tripadvisor again and it said that the reservation was confirmed. I never felt unwelcome anywhere before today. The owner is a French prick that acted in a racist way just because we didn't speak the language. The food might or might not be good but it's not even worth to try it if you are treated as a second tier citizen and you are discriminated based on your nationality.

My husband and I had dinner at this restaurant and the food including the service were amazing. We had the steak with duck and the fish of the day; both dishes were very tasty. For dessert we had the chocolate cake and it was delicious. The owner Hugo was the one providing service and he was friendly, attentive, and just excellent. I would recommend coming here if you are in Paris.

Hugo is a fresh and delightful place for a meal. The presentations were beautiful, colorful, and unique. I made reservations in advance and we were the first few to arrive. Just be warned, service is very hands-on by the owner Hugo so you will receive amazing and personable service, but a little on the slower side. They offer prix fixe menu (starter, entree, dessert at €26. Hugo is known for the lovely fresh ingredients and presentation, but you will find some overlap in taste in the dishes. The fresh scallop carpaccio was the winner in my book, it had beautiful thin slices of scallop drizzled with olive oil, pistachios, berries. It was a beautiful piece. I was so happy to find foie gras on the menu after California banned it and it was everything I remembered it to be and more, the filet mignon was solid. Only dish I wasn't a huge fan of was the catch of the day, however the presentation was still beautiful and colorful. Tip: Come early and make a reservation and expect to dine for 1-2 hours due to slow service. Check out my must eats in Paris www.camchowda.com/pariseats

I ordered the duck last night and it was incredible. It came perfectly cooked medium with a side of roasted broccoli and potatoes that melted in my mouth. With the addition of a nice glass of Bordeaux, this amazing meal only set me back 19€ and it was worth every penny!

Throughout our trip from Provence, Basque Country and Paris, I joked that they must hate me for ordering my beef med b/c it was so much tougher compared to our beef. Anyway, it's just different. Our server spoke English fluently and was such a hoot...full of personality & joy. Per his recommendation, we ordered it med-rare b/c it continues cooking table side on the sizzling platter. We ate too much. It's a lot of food to split the cote de boeuf btn two. Comes with very good chubby fries and 3 sauces. TBH, I didn't love the sauces. Luckily we walked 6miles that day and skipped lunch. Started with a garden salad, but sadly we had no room for dessert. Reservations via email. We managed to get a 9pm reso, last minute, I bet due to a cancellation. They have 2seatings...6pm & 9pm.

Making a reservation isn't hard but you do need to email them and there's no online booking system. You also have to confirm again 1-2 days before. I understand they are small with a limited number of tables so that's fair and it seemed like everyone showed up even though they don't require a deposit. On a Friday night, it didn't appear there was much chance or walking in although there were like 2 open seats at what would have been a shared table. The menu is small and includes some typical French starters, steaks, 3 non steak entrees, cheeses, and dessert. All steaks come with potatoes, 3 sauces, salad. Service was a highlight. The waiter was personable and funny, had solid recommendations, and made sure leftovers were taken home. Also had a solid wine recommendation after asking some questions. They probably get a lot of people who don't speak French and they had no problem speaking English. The food- ordered a ribeye medium rare. The steak was so so charred on the outside and it almost ruined the whole thing. I really wish they would have charred it way less especially when it was ordered medium rare. There is seared and then there is burnt; this was sadly the latter. The steak itself was fine, honestly nowhere near the best meat I have had but the price is quite reasonable for how much you get. I would say the steak was maybe 6/10 for me, largely due to the cooking. The fries were phenomenal. Definitely a highlight and really tasty and with a great texture. Salad was good, pretty typical. I wanted to like the sauces more but found them just okay. The best by far for me was the blue cheese sauce but even this one I thought the flavors could have popped a little more. Atmosphere was fun, there were a few bigger groups (6-8 which is the biggest they accommodate) but it never got unreasonably loud. Overall I wanted to love it but was a bit disappointed even though the service and fries were both great.

We were so looking forward to the frog legs, onion soup and other delicacies pictured. We got there and the sign was just as it was with the same name -- Au Pied du Sacre Coeur. We should've noticed something was wrong when no one was inside. When the waiter (lone person working along with cook) gave us the menu, my wife and I stared at each other completely confused. The menu looked nothing like the ones on this website and featured Italian food items, like spaghetti, arroz con pollo or mozarella. I asked him about frog legs or the onion soup. He looked confused and just said no. Out of respect for him, we just ordered the charcuterie, which featured stale bread and a few slices of meat taken from my local grocery store in the U.S. Also -- they claimed to not accept any international credit cards. WHAT HAPPENED? Are all these reviews fake? Most likely, they underwent new ownership right when we visited. But new visitors -- please beware. Do not trust any of the reviews before mine. If I was mistaken, please post photos and just tell me that I was part of some elaborate joke to ruin a lunch for me and my wife.

That's not acceptable. The food, however, was. Hence my difficulty in giving one rating. Our 3 dishes tried were indeed solid. Generous servings of seafood in the bouillabaisse, and I have no qualms whatsoever with my cuise de grenouille and foie gras salads. Bread kept us alive. The free Cote du Rhône glass was appreciated for check-in! Our server had his head permanently at a 30 degree angle, staring at his mobile. Tis a shame. But he was friendly ( oh, and easy on the eyes). I liked the quiet location out of the chaotic fray, like up the street, with all its smoking and volume. PS This is lover's type of location. Even the dark end of the small street feels illicit!
