    I was brought here by a friend who promised me to taste food from his native Auvergne. Since the region is known for its cattle and mountains, the food is very heavy. Since I knew what was coming, I started with a salad. It was simple with tomatoes, eggs and lettuce. It prepared me for the main course. I ordered the sausage and trouffades. This potato and cheese-side dish is quite hearty and rich. It goes well with whatever meat you choose but quite filling. I was thinking of getting the Aligot but I hesitated. You might want to share a main and a salad. Bring your cholesterol meds.

    Disappointing dinner last night for my party of eight people. Maybe it's unfair to compare my ribeye to Ruth's Chris or maybe I just caught them on an off night. I had the 500g Rib Steak with Aligot (mashed potatoes with melted cheese and garlic). The steak was huge but it was almost a quarter of fat, I ordered medium rare but it came out closer to rare and it was under seasoned. The Aligot was okay, same thing just lacking flavor. The only item I enjoyed was the French onion soup. My wife's duck was extremely under cooked also. The only positives were our server was nice, the food came out fairly quickly and they were able to accommodate our party of eight since we were walk ins.

    We came here based on Yelp reviews and were looking to try our some aligot. They do have a large outside area, but we opted for a table inside instead. Our server was very friendly, spoke fluent English and recommended delicious local wine. We were a table of three but ordered a starter and two entrees to share. We began with the onion soup, which was the best that we had during our stay in Paris. The portion size was HUGE and only 8€. It was loaded with cheese, crusty bread, perfectly soft caramelized onions, and needed no additional seasonings. As our entrees, we ordered the sausage and beef steak, one with aligot and the other with truffade. They were huge entrees and our server presented them to us on three plates instead of two which was great. The aligot needed salt or a sharper cheese, but we did enjoy it. I definitely recommend the truffade over the aligot! The steak was cooked to a nice medium rare and the sausage was delicious. Overall, very good experience with large portions and friendly service. Do not leave without having the truffade!

    You gotta try this place! They are popular for their potato dish called Aligot. It's more of a side (like fries, roasted potatoes, etc). They serve Aligot alongside their main entrees. It is a mashed potato type side, cooked with creme fraiche, garlic, and other cheeses. They serve it table side by mixing in a hot pot, and then pouring the goodness onto your plate!! We ordered 3 kinds of steak, daughter ordered fries instead of Aligot! Nice setting, in the middle of St Denis, and if you sit by the window, or even outside, you get a view of traffic, and a beautiful arch!! Service is outstanding! Tipped our waiter €10 and he was ecstatic!!

    Terrible food and service. They suggested the duck breast which was unflavored, chewy and fatty. Fries were limp. Wife's salad was just vinegar. They inquired about our happiness with the meal after they picked it up largely uneaten and told no, they just gave the French shrug. Go elsewhere.

    We had a great time at this restaurant! It was our first meal in Paris. We tried their signature dish: alligot! It's whipped potatoes with cheese, served table side in ribbons of deliciousness. Absolutely creamy & tasty! Wine was inexpensive. Service quick & friendly. My favorite part was the Île flotante I had for dessert. It was a creamy, silky custard, topped with freshly whipped meringue & caramel. It was outrageous! Loved this place!

    We came here based on a recommendation from INSIDER travel and were not disappointed. I'll warn my fellow Americans that the cheese in the aligot is overwhelming... it's not the mild cheese I was used to but I still really enjoyed it! It was very crowded when we went but were able to be seated fairly quickly. My only reason for the four star review is that the wait staff was a bit short and, in my opinion, rude. The only place we experienced this in Paris.

    I have visited twice on layover and it has been delicious each time. I recommend the lamb wrapped in veal with Aligot.

I understand they are small with a limited number of tables so that's fair and it seemed like everyone showed up even though they don't require a deposit. On a Friday night, it didn't appear there was much chance or walking in although there were like 2 open seats at what would have been a shared table. The menu is small and includes some typical French starters, steaks, 3 non steak entrees, cheeses, and dessert. All steaks come with potatoes, 3 sauces, salad. Service was a highlight. The waiter was personable and funny, had solid recommendations, and made sure leftovers were taken home. Also had a solid wine recommendation after asking some questions. They probably get a lot of people who don't speak French and they had no problem speaking English. The food- ordered a ribeye medium rare. The steak was so so charred on the outside and it almost ruined the whole thing. I really wish they would have charred it way less especially when it was ordered medium rare. There is seared and then there is burnt; this was sadly the latter. The steak itself was fine, honestly nowhere near the best meat I have had but the price is quite reasonable for how much you get. I would say the steak was maybe 6/10 for me, largely due to the cooking. The fries were phenomenal. Definitely a highlight and really tasty and with a great texture. Salad was good, pretty typical. I wanted to like the sauces more but found them just okay. The best by far for me was the blue cheese sauce but even this one I thought the flavors could have popped a little more. Atmosphere was fun, there were a few bigger groups (6-8 which is the biggest they accommodate) but it never got unreasonably loud. Overall I wanted to love it but was a bit disappointed even though the service and fries were both great.

We should've noticed something was wrong when no one was inside. When the waiter (lone person working along with cook) gave us the menu, my wife and I stared at each other completely confused. The menu looked nothing like the ones on this website and featured Italian food items, like spaghetti, arroz con pollo or mozarella. I asked him about frog legs or the onion soup. He looked confused and just said no. Out of respect for him, we just ordered the charcuterie, which featured stale bread and a few slices of meat taken from my local grocery store in the U.S. Also -- they claimed to not accept any international credit cards. WHAT HAPPENED? Are all these reviews fake? Most likely, they underwent new ownership right when we visited. But new visitors -- please beware. Do not trust any of the reviews before mine. If I was mistaken, please post photos and just tell me that I was part of some elaborate joke to ruin a lunch for me and my wife.
