To make matters worse, they made my young sister walk outside to throw the trash away herself. Accidents happen, and this could have been handled with basic courtesy and professionalism. Instead, the managers and staff came across as rude, unwelcoming, and lacking any sense of customer service. We left feeling embarrassed and disrespected. Unfortunately, because of how we were treated, we will not be returning. There are plenty of places in Galveston that treat their customers with much more kindness and respect.

I had been under the impression that unopened, non-creased books could be exchanged (not returned) within 10 days. There is a sign displayed, but the wording could be clearer. Had I understood that all books were FINAL SALE, I definitely would have compared prices before purchasing, made a different selection, and purchased only one book. I admire how they place bookmarks inside the books of purchase. The bookmarks double as their business cards, such a smart way to consolidate promotion & usefulness. I adore that unique feature. This shop hearkens back to ye olden times where communication was hand written and people took the time to compose. The shop is small but they pack a lot into a very small space. Free two hour parking is close by which was super convenient. It's close enough to the Strand that you can do some great shopping and dining there as well. The people running the shop were very friendly. While I did not make a purchase on this trip, I will definitely be back. The prices seemed very reasonable for products made one at a time by hand.
