Richland Hills was able to get me scheduled in about a week. Great experience. Cynthia (might be Christa) handled all of my paperwork and my Dentist was Dr. Dylan Carey DDS. Cynthia knocked out my X-rays and Dr Carey was very good at explaining what he was doing and what he found. Identified a small cavity and able to schedule an appointment 2 days later. With the cavity filling, didn't feel a thing and was as pleasant as could be when getting a filling. The cleaning experience was amazing with Jackie Garcia, RDH. The way she communicates with what she was doing, positive attitude, informative, and the way she handled my teeth was awesome. Great team and great atmosphere. Comfortable making this my new primary Dental group!

The final straw was being told my appointment wasn't confirmed, even though I had received a call and confirmed it. I was told, "We have a virtual assistant and a customer service person, so I'm not sure who you spoke to--they must not have communicated." That level of disorganization is unacceptable. My first visit was just for a simple cleaning for my child -- nothing special, nothing terrible -- but seeing dead crickets by the front desk should've been the first red flag. I brushed it off as an isolated incident. Big mistake. Next came the orthodontics appointment. I wasn't told until later that their orthodontist travels between locations -- something that would've been helpful to know before scheduling. We arrived 15 minutes early for a 2:30 p.m. appointment, checked in, and then sat. And sat. And sat. We weren't called back until 3:20 p.m. -- nearly an hour later -- because they apparently "skipped us." Not once, but twice. After finally being seen, we discussed the plan, signed the paperwork, and were told we'd need a few extractions before braces could be completed. The orthodontist placed a few brackets that day "to get things started." Now I realize that was probably just to lock us into the payment plan. Fast forward to extraction day -- the day before the appointment, at 3 p.m., the front desk calls to say there's an "insurance issue" and we'd have to reschedule. Are you kidding me? I had spoken with the front desk multiple times in the weeks leading up to this -- including a week and a half prior -- and not once did anyone mention a problem. My daughter is covered under two employer-based dental plans. There is no excuse for this kind of incompetence. Because of their failure to verify insurance properly, we now have to wait another month or more -- because, remember, their orthodontist only comes to this office once a month. That means I'm now paying for two full months of orthodontic treatment when absolutely nothing has been done. And no, four brackets on her front teeth that aren't even connected to anything don't count as "treatment." To make matters worse, when I expressed frustration, the front desk clerk actually said, "Well, at least I called you today and you didn't find out tomorrow morning." As if that somehow makes it acceptable. The total lack of accountability here is astounding. Bottom line: this office is disorganized, unprofessional, and completely careless with both patients and their time. I would never recommend this place for any dental or orthodontic care. Save yourself the frustration -- go somewhere that actually values their patients and knows how to run a practice. Update: now my daughter has been fired as a patient because they completely dropped the ball and had total lack of accountability. But they said it was because of our call with front desk. I just googled closest orthodontist to me and I'm so happy I decided to go here. The entire experience was great they were all so kind and understanding of my situation. I cannot be more appreciative that they were willing to fix something they didn't do and also give me a recommendation for when I go home to look at. I am not someone who will likely ever return but they still treated me as if I was a patient who had been there for years. I seriously cannot thank them enough for solving my problem so quickly and easily. If I ever move to San Antonio I know exactly where I would start my orthodontic care.
