My "home" fitness studio is at TruFusion so it's great to switch things up a bit. I attended the full body conditioning on Monday evening and my instructor was Dorian. I introduced myself and told her it was my first class. She was very welcoming and gave a general explanation what I would be expecting with class. You start off with a light warm up and then she explained the different stations. You're either doing jump ropes, split squats, burpees etc. Our "break" was to take a run out in the back lot. Now THAT was challenging for me because I do not run nor do I enjoy running lol. The class was 45 minutes and that was perfect. There are plenty of different classes throughout the day so it's convenient to fit anyone's schedule.

It's smaller, private and not super busy like most gyms. I can get my workouts done without waiting for equipment. I really appreciate the thoughtful touches, like the infrared sauna, nice showers, toiletries for women, hair ties, and the locker system. You can tell a lot of care went into creating a nice gym environment. There are a couple of male employees who are always kind, friendly, and welcoming. They talk to me, acknowledge me, and make the experience feel positive. However, my experience with some of the female staff has been the opposite. They often come across as rude, or unwelcoming. When I walk in, they typically do not say hello unless I say hello first. I genuinely love the gym itself and think the facility is beautiful, clean, and thoughtfully designed. I just wish the customer service matched the quality of the space.

Great, friendly staff, and super clean environment! The hours are sometimes difficult because even as members you don't have 24/7 access. Early morning or night hours usually mean less people, afternoon hours can sometimes be busy and mean you'll have to adjust your workout based on what equipment is available. They keep it dark and low lit in the gym which I enjoy so I am less focused on my aesthetics or other people and more focused on getting in my workout and feeling accomplished. Overall, it's a good option if you're looking for a boutique gym, that is never overly crowded.

As someone looking for a new women only fitness community after having my baby, I was hoping to find a welcoming and supportive environment. Unfortunately, my first visit was the complete opposite. I arrived about 10 minutes before my scheduled consultation. When I walked in, not a single person welcomed or greeted me. I stood at the front for a few minutes waiting for someone to acknowledge me, and when no one did, I sat down on the couch. At 10:00 a.m., I spoke with the Pilates instructor as she was telling her student sitting on the couch to head into class. I told her I was there for a consultation, and she simply replied, "she'll be with you." Directing it to the lady in the back room with another client. The Pilates instructor never asked what kind of consultation I was there for, whether I was a new client, or if I needed to complete any paperwork. I continued waiting for nearly 15 minutes without anyone checking on me. During that time, I watched another employee walk by carrying a clipboard and head to the back without greeting me or asking if I needed help. I wasn't expecting anything extravagant, just a simple "Welcome! We'll be with you shortly." Instead, I felt completely invisible. I was only acknowledged after I stood up at 10:15am and started looking through the flyers at the front desk to get the nutritionist attention in the backroom. I left feeling discriminated against. I know I still have a few pounds to lose after having my baby, and I couldn't help but feel like I wasn't treated with the same warmth or respect as others. Whether that was intentional or not, that was how the experience made me feel, and it was incredibly discouraging. To make matters worse, when I finally spoke with the nutritionist at 10:15am , the only thing she said was, "You missed your class. You can reschedule." There was no effort to ask why I hadn't gone into class or whether anyone had checked me in. As a first-time client, I wasn't comfortable walking into a class without first being checked in or told where to go. Again I have never been to this establishment and I was hoping to get a tour of the place. A women gym should be a place where women of all fitness levels feel welcomed, encouraged, and supported. Sadly, that wasn't my experience here. I'll be taking my business elsewhere to a women gym with a more welcoming and inclusive community where every women regardless of where they are on their fitness journey, is acknowledged and treated with kindness. First impressions matter, and unfortunately, mine couldn't have been more disappointing. They only responded with there's was some confusion with your appointment . How can there be a confusion when you send several messages reminding me of my appointment time. Also doesn't the coach know she had a first time client appointment in her calendar. So disappointing.

The Vibe: Choice…read more Among a hub of fitness studios, 103 Hot Pilates & Yoga was easy to find, with plenty of parking & an easy walk to the front door. Inside, Toni greeted me, checked me in, showed me around the studio, pointed out the infrared heating panels, handed me a locker lock, and made sure I knew where everything was. A few minutes later, Amelia walked over, introduced herself, asked my name, and made sure I felt comfortable practicing in the heat. The Guide: Amelia Bruff * 103 Vinyasa Flow We began seated cross-legged in Gyan Mudra, thumb and index finger gently touching, with four-count box breathing before expanding to a five-count rhythm. This class was a deliberately slow, deeply intentional practice where poses were often held for 40 seconds or longer. The longer we stayed, the more awareness was required. Amelia reminded us that we always have a choice: our attention. our breath. Alignment was a constant throughout class. Amelia moved through the room offering thoughtful adjustments, helping me refine several postures. One moment especially surprised me. In Center Splits, she guided our upper body into Puppy Pose, then invited us through a breath and body-awareness exercise before cueing us to lift our ankles from the floor. I was surprised how much the pose deepened Then came Pigeon, where Amelia delivered one of the juiciest hands-on assists and back massages I've ever received in a yoga class. Soft Kundalini music quietly filled the room. Everything kept pointing back to the same lesson. Slow down. Pay attention. Choose your breath. The Tribe There were yogis of every level. Amelia knew each of them by name. Even as a first-timer, I never felt like an outsider. Space & Place The infrared panels line the room, creating warmth that's comfortable. Outside the yoga room are open shelves for towels, props, and essentials. Complimentary lockers (with locks provided). The surrounding fitness district has an energetic vibe. The Takeaway After class, I had to ask Amelia if she was a dancer. She smiled. "Yes." Of course. The precision. The grace. The body awareness. It all made perfect sense. I left with this: You always have a choice. Where your attention goes. Where your breath goes. Field Note: Your breath is the one choice that never leaves you. FYI: Style: Slow, alignment-focused Heat: Infrared Best For: Yogis who appreciate longer holds, intelligent alignment, hands-on assists, and breath-centered practice. * Bonuses: Free parking lot, welcoming staff, infrared heat, complimentary lockers with locks, & thoughtful assists.

The staff was awesome, I was very confused when I got there and they gave me a tour since it's a much bigger studio than the Henderson location. And there are definitely more doorways to get to the different studios, so I was definitely a little lost at first. Tons of lockers and storage areas. The locker rooms are really nice, super clean, and have amenities for getting ready just like the other locations. It looks like the location is supposed to have a café inside... I don't know if that's something that they're adding in later or was previously there, but there is this little area that looks like it's a eating area (I could be wrong.) there's a lot of places to hang out when waiting for class to start. I took a candlelight Yin with Timberly. And to this day, it's still one of my favorite Yin classes that I've ever taken. It was absolutely amazing, I felt like I was floating when I got out of that class. Super relaxing, she is such an amazing instructor and has one of the best energies I've ever had in an instructor ever. She also did a sound bath at the end of class and it was transcending. I absolutely recommend her candlelight Yin Class! You will leave feeling renewed. I really like that the studio is in a separate area where it has its own hallway that's closed off so you're not hearing any of the outside noise. I also really love that Tru Fusion Summerlin does their fitness on the lawn classes. I do those quite frequently and it is a really amazing experience! And they give you a really awesome variety of different types of classes to try out! The instructors are so amazing and I really love how they are focusing on building community and also giving back to the community!

I have brought the filthy wipes up to the front desk repeatedly, have talked to the manager, and am basically met with either attitude, like I'm the problem, or am given a list of excuses. This has gone on for months and months, and the floor remains disgusting. The cleaning staff does go into the room after each class, but they are obviously not given cleaning products to clean with, or what looks like black soot wouldn't be so easy to wipe up with a lysol wipe immediately after they clean. I've been a member since TruFusion opened their doors, and they used to be great, but since then it gets more expensive, and the quality goes down. We shouldn't have to beg to work out in a non filthy gym. Especially with what they charge for a membership. Our mats touch our faces, and the floor in the rock room is dirtier than if we put our mats in the parking lot. Called corporate multiple times, no response

Are you looking for a small and encouraging place to reach your physical goals? Lifting weights or…read morerunning on the treadmill is just too boring for you? Or perhaps you're looking for structured work outs? MAYBE there is a ultra burning desire to redeem yourself from a lack of uber performance at a previous obstacle race. I marked E for all of the above. Back in October I did Tough Mudder with some friends, and was greatly disappointed with my personal performance. It wasn't because I didn't finish (we did, in a decent time), but 6-7 months multiple times a week was dedicated to get ready for the crazy mud run. To only finish "OK" wasn't "OK" with me so once a Groupon appeared for Ultimate Training Center's CrossFit classes and some YouTube researching on what CrossFit is, I took the plunge and made UTC sort of a second home. I'm addicted to CrossFit. CrossFit helps you attain a level of fitness that is measurable by day to day activities in regards to functional movements or "preparing for the unknown" hence their slogan "forging elite fitness". I've only been coming to UTC for two months and I am not getting significantly bigger, but I am getting STRONGER and more ATHLETIC. I didn't realize how much I changed physically until the day I brought my friend (whom has always been more fit than me in the past) in for a few classes and our fitness levels was on different levels. The workout of the day (WOD) changes everyday, so it doesn't get boring. There are times written on a board so you can compare yourself to others (muy excellente for those ultra competitive people). That's enough talking about why CrossFit is the sh!t though, this review is for UTC. UTC staff is always friendly, classes are available early morning, afternoon, and in the evening for the 9-5 workers. Its clean, doesn't stink, there is a shower available, and the coaches are awesome. Chris really focuses on proper technique, has you scale the weight according to YOUR abilities, is encouraging, cares about how you perform, and has jokes. Barre and TRX classes are also offered. I have my first Spartan Race on 02/10/13 and thanks to UTC I feel ready to make the obstacle my b!tch. http://summerlincrossfit.com/ See you in class.
