I absolutely love my 45 minutes at Burn Boot Camp! I've never been a big "gym person," so finding a workout I actually look forward to is a huge WIN! The community, the trainers, the atmosphere, and the owner are all amazing -- supportive, motivating, and full of energy. I have to admit, I'm a little competitive... I love earning those monthly stickers! Even better, my teenage girls have started coming with me, which makes it extra special. Once you start seeing results, you don't want to stop. Burn Boot Camp truly keeps me coming back for more!

Not to be dramatic or anything, but this gym has changed my life. I joined back in May and I just love the sense of Community here. Childcare makes me so comfortable leaving my baby back there. If you are a little skeptical it is a half wall so you're able to hear your baby which is really nice. If you're a mom looking for a gym with childcare, this is the gym also men as well.

The first time I heard about Burn Boot Camp was through a former coworker, who has been a member for about four years. I've been thinking about joining a gym for a very long time, but I kept backing out of it because I was concerned about how a gym membership would affect my budget. I've been going to LVMPD sponsored events at different gyms around the valley at least once a month and they had their most recent one at Burn's Fort Apache location. I had to fill out a waiver on their website prior to this event. Upon walking in, Jenna, who owns this location with her husband and is also the trainer, greeted me and everyone else with a high five. The energy here was REAL from start to finish, and when they say Burn, I mean it. You will walk out of here tired and sore, but in a great way. All workouts are 45 minutes long, but when you're really into them, it doesn't feel that long. Everyone is assigned a station in groups of 5 and everyone rotates to each station after doing 10 push ups or sit ups. We did cable rope squats, sliding, weight lifting, ball lifting, and pull ups, with our finisher going outside and switching between squatting and running up to the plaza sign and back. During the first interval, I sat out of the ball lifting workout because I was starting to feel lightheaded and nauseous. Jenna noticed this and gave me some juice containing electrolytes. And just like that, I felt much better and got right back in, never gave up! Do not be scared to tell your trainer that you're not feeling well. After the Burn workout, LVMPD stepped in and we did some of their own workouts. We did some self-defense and boxing workouts, where we were all dressed up in real boxing equipment. Being able to box with someone else was thrillseeking and exciting, though I was nervous that I would hurt someone or someone would hurt me. This event ended up lasting almost two and a half hours, obviously with short breaks in between. I'm thinking of becoming a member of Burn in the future because I was so impressed with the workouts. The closest Burn near me is on Horizon Ridge in Henderson, so I'll be frequenting that location when I'm officially a member!

I never imagined attending a gym like this-- it always seemed so out of my comfort zone and impossible. I was so wrong! The trainers here are amazing, attentive, and kind. The community is very supportive. I am doing more physically than I have ever done and I am beyond grateful for it. I can't wait to see what my future holds at burn!

Inside, Toni greeted me, checked me in, showed me around the studio, pointed out the infrared heating panels, handed me a locker lock, and made sure I knew where everything was. A few minutes later, Amelia walked over, introduced herself, asked my name, and made sure I felt comfortable practicing in the heat. The Guide: Amelia Bruff * 103 Vinyasa Flow We began seated cross-legged in Gyan Mudra, thumb and index finger gently touching, with four-count box breathing before expanding to a five-count rhythm. This class was a deliberately slow, deeply intentional practice where poses were often held for 40 seconds or longer. The longer we stayed, the more awareness was required. Amelia reminded us that we always have a choice: our attention. our breath. Alignment was a constant throughout class. Amelia moved through the room offering thoughtful adjustments, helping me refine several postures. One moment especially surprised me. In Center Splits, she guided our upper body into Puppy Pose, then invited us through a breath and body-awareness exercise before cueing us to lift our ankles from the floor. I was surprised how much the pose deepened Then came Pigeon, where Amelia delivered one of the juiciest hands-on assists and back massages I've ever received in a yoga class. Soft Kundalini music quietly filled the room. Everything kept pointing back to the same lesson. Slow down. Pay attention. Choose your breath. The Tribe There were yogis of every level. Amelia knew each of them by name. Even as a first-timer, I never felt like an outsider. Space & Place The infrared panels line the room, creating warmth that's comfortable. Outside the yoga room are open shelves for towels, props, and essentials. Complimentary lockers (with locks provided). The surrounding fitness district has an energetic vibe. The Takeaway After class, I had to ask Amelia if she was a dancer. She smiled. "Yes." Of course. The precision. The grace. The body awareness. It all made perfect sense. I left with this: You always have a choice. Where your attention goes. Where your breath goes. Field Note: Your breath is the one choice that never leaves you. FYI: Style: Slow, alignment-focused Heat: Infrared Best For: Yogis who appreciate longer holds, intelligent alignment, hands-on assists, and breath-centered practice. * Bonuses: Free parking lot, welcoming staff, infrared heat, complimentary lockers with locks, & thoughtful assists.

I have been wanting to get back to the gym for years, but I was hesitant and embarrassed. I'd let myself get out of shape. Stress made me unmotivated to walk into a gym and, let's be honest, large gyms are intimidating. I came across the advertisement on Facebook for Human Forge Fitness. They were looking for women over sixty, that's me. I googled the gym, and it was literally around the corner from my home. I filled out the info online and Kevin reached out and I went in for a tour. I liked that Human Forge Fitness is a small gym, and all workouts are personalized to my fitness level. I have been a client for about a month, and I can feel the difference in just a month. Yes, I'm sore, but it's a good sore. I can tell I'm getting stronger, and I look forward to my sessions. The workouts are hard, but they are fun, and you feel like you accomplished something good for yourself. They were nice enough to let me finish out my workouts at their indoor facility where for the remainder I tried to go 3-4x a week. The park workouts were challenging but doable at whatever your fitness level. Richene always mixed it up and was encouraging. And I loved Fun Fridays. I had never played Frisbee football before. My fave would have to be the indoor workouts with Corey and Will. Because these were in the evenings it really kept me on track eating healthy during the day so I wouldn't feel like crap at boot camp. And obviously no grass, no allergies. For both the indoor and outdoor classes we never did an identical workout. The indoor facility is perfect for those that are fans of Tough Mudder, Spartan or any type of obstacle races as they have the course and equipment to help you prepare. The camaraderie is awesome and everyone is so encouraging from day one. I'm only knocking a star due to cost. I don't think $150 a month is unreasonable if boot camps are the majority of your workout because there are classes and locations all over town and the instruction alone is worth it. They also have a $25 drop in or if you buy a punch card it breaks down to $20 a class. But for me I'd want to incorporate bootcamp into my schedule once or twice a week because I also love my cycling and kettle bell classes and when I factor in the three gym memberships I have combined those set me back only $57 a month. I had taken boot camp classes before in town and this month of classes made me realize how much I miss them. Fortunately for me those classes are a $10 drop in making it more realistic for my schedule and wallet to incorporate a once or twice a week class into my routine.

As a veteran of bootcamp classes, running, pilates, kickboxing, and Insanity/P90X, I can definitely tell you that this was a GREAT workout. Granted, some may think that there's a limited class/location selection, but to be honest, at least you know where to go and what time to go...none of this "will there or won't there be class". My other gripe is also about the cost. If it wasn't for the Groupon that I got, I definitely couldn't afford this. As it is, I don't pay even that much for my gym membership. I am so glad that there are multiple locations throughout the valley. Next, I can only comment on Kenny Hunt, my instructor (or should I say torturer? lol jk). He's a great instructor and just helps you push yourself until the end of class--allowing you to take the class at whatever pace you can handle. There were literally people in the class that were in all different levels of fitness, and since everyone was working as a team and encouraging one another, it made the experience that much more enjoyable. The general format was: arms and core, cardio day, legs, arms and more core, and another cardio day. On a given day, you'll either be doing resistance exercises using your own weight, or weights, or tires, a jump rope, or partnered exercises. I actually even saw a class harness themselves and pull a Toyota Tundra filled with equipment, with a few others pushing from behind. Talk about crazy! All in all, it was a fun time, and I only wish that the classes were more affordable. At least I was able to find out what Bootcamp Las Vegas was all about.
