I've been where we sat at the last row on the ground level and I've visited where we had seats closer to the stage. The lines aren't crazy long, and the security works pretty quickly to move things right along. They do sell cocktails and snacks. I love that this venue is right in the middle of the city with plenty of public tranportation options. The fees have always been reasonable and cheaper if you pay at their box office. This is definitely a venue I would attend future events at based on my prior experiences.

Very tidy. I enjoyed the snack bar and merchandise tables so much. How wonderful we were able to enjoy lovely teaching a meditation from Gen-la Dekyong. She is a no deed none in the Kadampa Modern Buddhism Tradition. She is like the pope of this Buddhist tradition and she's a woman. She's a gentle woman, and she really shares her vast knowledge as one of Geshle's original students in the UNITED kingdom 40 + years of practicing education, tourism . Fun and enlightening!! Such a wonderful evening. This teaching was called "a life without fear " & she gave such profound wisdom with us all. It was nice to see a souvenir on the wall. I went to the New York Public Library on 40th Street early one morning when the IDNYC Department opened. I came prepared with my documents. If you read and follow the instructions on their website it's a smooth process. After I completed the application, provided the documentation, and had my photo taken, I was out of there. My ID came in the mail in about two weeks. Over the next couple of years I had Free year long memberships to the Guggenheim, The MET, MOMA, and more. Additionally I had discounts at the museum shops and cafes. Every Year a new list of free or discount activities is provided. You can check their website. My ID was Free and does not expire for five years. I'm not sure if it's still free. They make renewal easy using an online renewal process. I advise my retired friends to get the ID. The build was an expensive renovation which turned out somewhat beautifully but it has some smoothing out to do. To be perfectly honest this library is an embarrassment to the city, in my opinion. Overall I want to say this library is a wonderful resource but it is not. It is so overboard geared towards being woke that I believe this branch (and honestly most of the NYPL system) is detrimental to the city as a whole.

I'm posting this again just to stress the need for everyone to VOTE! I'm at a loss for words when trying to explain why I feel it's so important. I just feel like no matter how much we protest, if we don't vote, change isn't going to come. It's the bottom line when all is said and done. It's how your VOICE is HEARD! A Year ago I attended my NYC First Day ever using Early Voting. I went the first day which was a Saturday shortly after they opened. My designated location is in East Harlem at the Jackie Robinson Center. Back then it was so easy, no line, electronic signature and they print the individual ballot. I had a great experience because I set aside the time to get my Voting done. I was anxious to see how it would be for the 2020 Presidential Election. Flash Forward to Early Voting 2020 during the Covid Pandemic and Presidential Election. I'm giving the Board Five Stars for enormous improvement over the years. It wasn't long ago the system was antiquated compared to what I experienced in other States. I had a good experience in 2020. I thought last year was good. The 2020 Election brought huge lines on the first day of early voting. It was a Saturday again. Voting doors opened 10am. There was very little confusion about where the lines were headed. The disabled had a separate line. I saw lots of Poll Workers that stopped to speak to us. Everyone was so nice and hard at work. Once inside I was completely comfortable with social distancing and the signature process. At no time did I need to touch anything that had been touched by another voter. Since my daughter and I were together they kept us together and we were directed to a separate line for a speedy sign in. If you have the voters card that comes in the mail they photograph it. The workers don't touch anything and you don't either. They do hand you the ballot only. You're given a pen and you keep it. As we entered and exited we were greeted and guided by friendly volunteers. Even with their masks I saw the smile in their eyes. They were happy we voted. We were happy it was only two hours from the time the polls opened until we were on our way home. We arrived a half hour before the polls opened. People coming later waited much longer! There are people complaining that changes need to be made. They say more polls need to open with more volunteers. They want more money spent on more voting machines. It's my opinion that after the Presidential Election and the pandemic is over complacency will return. Deal with the lines, the wait, and show up to VOTE! I couldn't ask for any Board of Elections to do a better job than My Home in New York City! You don't need to fear for your health when you vote. They have our safety as a priority. I haven't heard of anyone fighting or violence at the polls so far. There weren't any NYPD on duty at my polling place. Maybe they will make their presence known on Election Day. I'm glad NYC Voters are showing a true representation of how the majority of us behave. Let's keep the PEACE no matter who wins this election!!

I am in California and they were amazingly better than any of the police departments I have dealt with here in the SF bay. The officers and dispatcher were quite empathetic to our friend. I think our Bay Area police could learn some etiquette lessons from this station! I was quite impressed initially, but absolutely floored when I found out this is the toughest precinct in NYC, if not in the East coast! A big hug to this department!
