Once I met and played with Janet, I decided that there was no way I could leave without her. We just clicked. She's so gentle and cuddly and climbed on my shoulder even though she was shy and scared. Ashley was one of the lovely people who helped me through the adoption process and made sure Janet also had her blanket which smelled like her brother who got adopted earlier that day. Thank you so much for your help! Janet takes lots of cuddly naps so far and has lots of energy for zoomies afterward. I figured someone would step in to help. About a few days went by, on a Friday I saw the post again. I reached out and on Sunday I picked up these boys in Fremont. The family that found them at a park took them in but could not keep them. Between the backyard and garage to a bathroom, I figured I could help since I would keep them in my office where it's safe, warm, and room for them to play. This rescue agreed to help take these boys in but due to space which was why a foster was needed. They were friendly right off the bat. I had everything setup that morning already; food, water, and litter box. Once we got home and I let them out of the carrier, I instantly fell in love w/ both boys. Anyway. Fostering through Whis-Purr was a delight. I had everything sent to me; food, litter, even toys! I appreciated that because it's not just food and water; enrichment is just as important. When I dropped them off for surgery, I was able to get a tour from Lucy and was surprised that she was right. Her rescue is not like the shelter at all. The cats had room to sleep, play, and hide. Their area is clean and secured. I am going to be volunteering here, maybe once a week so I can still see and interact w/ these 2. I got their names from Disney's Onwards. The description on Pet Finder is so accurate. They are brave, sweet, loving, and playful. I cried so much the day I dropped them off. Too much that my boss walked over to my desk to check in on me yesterday. Cats and kittens have an adoption fee of $100. If you're looking for dogs, they don't bring them on site. Instead, they're all at a foster house in Brentwood. Man, I've never seen so many dogs in one place! Small and big dogs alike! You can tell they're well taken cared of at Joy's house. Usually you can just sit there, observe all their personalities, and pick from there. I'm sure one will steal your heart like my Wyatt has. Those two dogs spent many years together, always protective of me and of each other on our many hikes. I would periodically send in photos to CD, and always had a friendly reply. Almost like a family. One morning, up in ALanden Quicksilver Park, going up a steep narrow trail, they suddenly half turned and let rip with ferocious barks. A cougar came racing down the hill, I guess it wanted us for breakfast. Nope. Their utter ferocity in their barking and stance was one obstacle. The second was Bear Spray. That cougar decided quickly that this would not be a good way to start the day. Those two adopted dogs were Loyal, lovable, Protective, Goofy. Play ball? You bet. They loved swimming, exploring and making friends. My lab lived until she was 15. Our Shepsky passed a year or so before. Coppers Dream has always been professional, friendly and easy to approach. Now, I'm back looking for one more dog. Our young, female GSD is lonely without her big sister and big brother..

I adopted two cats from Town Cats, and both developed significant medical issues shortly after I…read morebrought them home. One ultimately passed away only a month after adoption, and the other continues to require ongoing medical care. After this experience, I feel it is important to share my concerns about the level of medical screening and transparency I experienced. Town Cats has an adoption process and adoption fee that, in my mind, comes with the expectation that there has been a meaningful level of medical evaluation and care. If I wanted to simply take a chance on whether a cat appeared healthy at a glance, I could have gone to a more traditional shelter. I chose Town Cats because I expected more, and unfortunately, my experience has not matched that expectation. I adopted Fern in mid-July after going through an extensive application and interview process. About one month later, I came home from work and found her collapsed and mildly unresponsive. I immediately took her to an emergency hospital, where I spent approximately six hours with her before she was transferred to a specialty clinic the following day. Despite everyone's efforts, Fern did not make it. The testing performed at the emergency and specialty hospitals showed that Fern was severely anemic and had very low red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. The veterinarians believed she likely had a serious bone marrow disease, potentially leukemia, but because of how critical she was, we were never able to obtain a definitive diagnosis. Losing her so suddenly was devastating. After Fern passed, I reached out to Town Cats because I wanted to understand what medical evaluation had been performed before her adoption. I was told that Fern had not received bloodwork, FeLV/FIV testing, or additional diagnostic testing while in their care. I was also told that no bloodwork or additional testing had been performed around the time of her spay because there was no clinical indication to do so at the time. I understand that no shelter can guarantee an animal will never become sick after adoption. I also understand that cats can develop illnesses that are impossible to detect beforehand. What is difficult for me to accept is the idea that because a cat looks healthy and does not display obvious clinical symptoms, additional evaluation isn't necessary. Anyone who has owned a cat knows how exceptionally well they can hide illness, sometimes until they are critically sick. Unfortunately, Fern was not my first experience with this. When I adopted Juju from Town Cats, she was found to have severe stomatitis and gingivitis and needed several teeth removed because she was in significant pain. She has also had other health problems that are ongoing and continue to require care. Having this happen with one adopted cat would have been heartbreaking. Having it happen with both cats I have adopted from the same shelter is incredibly frustrating. I am not saying that Town Cats could have necessarily diagnosed Fern's illness or prevented her death with additional testing. I simply believe that when adopters are paying a premium adoption fee and going through an extensive adoption process, there is a reasonable expectation that the animals have received a thorough medical evaluation and that adopters are being given a clear picture of what has and has not been evaluated. I loved Fern deeply, and losing her so soon after bringing her home was incredibly painful. I hope Town Cats continues to improve its medical screening and transparency, because prospective adopters deserve to know exactly what they are paying for and what has actually been done medically before they bring an animal home.

My dog has been to many daycares and has had a couple complaints about humping or bothering other dogs. (he has been neutered since a puppy and has that dopey playful like puppy brain even as an adult). But they have never complained about him or told me he was bothering others dogs etc... He gets so excited when we get a few blocks away because he knows he is going to Woofs and Wiggles. Drop off is convenient, easy, and walk in welcome ! I love that we don't have to schedule for daycare as I live a busy not set schedule work life so I usually don't plan daycare days in advance like others can. In addition Johnny is always so welcoming and they feed my dog his breakfast/lunch and tell me that he eats it too. I also love that they spray the floors when dogs go potty (most places just mop which just spreads the potty around). Thank you Woofs and Wiggles for being such a safe, fun , and reliable place for my pup!!
