Foster dog - Vanilla with homemade ecoller. She had teeth extraction and only 2 teeth saved

I fostered a few dogs from Copper's Dream. It is such a nice organization! They don't have a physical shelter, they send dogs to foster homes right away when dogs come. Alyce, the coordinator of the foster program, is always on top of everything. She's knowledgeable and always replies so fast when I have a question or some concern.

An amazing company doing so much good. I have my sweet Siren thanks to Copper's Dream and she has already changed my life for the better. It was a seamless process from start to finish -- puppy is spayed & microchipped and was placed with a wonderful foster family who did an incredible job with her before I adopted. They set us up with endless resources; vet contacts, quick links for pet insurance, discounted trainers, learning materials, & more. I could not recommend a better rescue in the Bay Area and whole heartedly endorse this organization as one I would HIGHLY recommend donating to. Thank you for what you do!

We adopted Emma almost three weeks ago and it was the best decision we have ever made. We applied online and heard back from Jill the next day giving us information to set up a meeting with the foster parents. Then a few days later we brought our new puppy home. It was overall a good experience and I have already recommended Copper's Dream to some of our friends.

After looking for a dog for several months through the Petdar app and being discouraged by other organizations, I came across "Butter" at Copper's Dream. Although they didn't have much behavioral info on the pup, I was quickly put in contact with the foster, Alyce, who was able to provide more information. We set up a meeting and when we got there, the dog immediately ran to my oldest son and rolled over for belly rubs. We played with the puppy and chatted with Alyce an hour or so and she allowed us to adopt him that day. I paid the fees online (which was very convenient) and we were able to take Butter home. The puppy is getting along great, he seems very happy, and we adore him. A huge thank you to Copper's Dream for making the adoption process painless and setting us up with such a wonderful little love bug.

Happy, healthy, sleepy Fig. Thanks Copper's Dream!

Copper's Dream is the best thing that's happened to my husband and I since we got married this year. We adopted a little Dachshund mix from Copper's Dream at the Bay Area Pet Fair 2 weeks ago. He came fixed, microchipped, and with all his vaccines up to date. Unfortunately our little pup Fig came home with a cough that turned into something terrible. It was later discovered he had kennel cough (which is pretty common in shelter dogs) which progressed into pneumonia. We were devastated! He would have to be hospitalized if things didn't improve. Copper's Dream to the rescue! We updated them on Fig and they helped cover the initial hospital visit and antibiotics. They even offered to cover the hospitalization costs if needed. I was so touched to know they cared as much about Fig as we did even after he left their care. Fast forward a couple weeks. Fig is now a happy, healthy little guy full of sparkle and personality. Words can't express how grateful we are for Copper's Dream! We can't wait to recommend them to all our future pet owner friends.

We had been looking for a dog to adopt for a couple of months and applied and donated to two rescue organizations without luck. Then I found out about Copper's Dream and our search was over! They have a great website with good photos of the dogs. The process is straightforward and explained as well. What is most impressive is how responsive they are, especially with the number of dogs they are managing. I submitted our application and it was approved overnight. Within a few days, we met our first foster candidate. We ended up not getting the first dog due to some differences but that didn't deter us. We met our second foster dog and ended up adopting him immediately. I guess we are "foster failures" also. We are now using a trainer recommended by Copper's Dream and it's working out great. We can't be happier. Highly recommend!

Dexter and Zoey, both from Copper's Dream!

My two furry best friends are both Copper's Dream alums here and even fostered two (well, one of them I own now - I foster failed). I love how "on top of things" they are :) and organized for a potentially very chaotic organization with all the dogs!

She feels right at home at her forever home.

In my particular case, I was looking for a small, hypoallergenic dog, which was difficult to find. After months of checking their adoption page, I finally found the perfect puppy who fits so seamlessly into our family. She is incredibly sweet and transformed almost instantly after coming home with us, from a shy, shivering little pup to an absolute terror in the best way possible! The staff was wonderful, helpful, knowledgeable, and very informative throughout the entire process. I also appreciated how thorough they were, providing all the supplies we needed for the first few days and taking every precaution to ensure a smooth transition. On top of that, the facility was clean, organized, and clearly well cared for. We're so grateful to have found our newest family member here!

They called her Luna but I changed her name because I never want her to be associated with that family ever. All ties must be severed. I still wonder if I should report them to animal control but let's be real, would anything be done? No, because it's rescues such as SPCA, Dancing Cat, and etc. worry about the health and well-being of the animal. An animal is not just an animal but it's a living and breathing thing that ought to be loved and cared for even if they are feral. Dancing Cat got her in here. In a week this sweet, shy, and affectionate girl was adopted. I was so happy and I still say my blessings prayers as I think about her every single day. Staff that checked us in was kind and patient. He allowed me to sit with her to help get her settled. I didn't want to leave her. Through tears as she watched me walk away, I can look back and accept that this was a great move for her. She now has a family all thanks to Dancing Cat and SF SPCA. I'm forever grateful!!!

Then we stumbled upon Wonder Cat Rescue. These folks act like they actually love animals and want to help them find homes. We e-mailed them; heard back immediately; met the pair we had inquired about and received them the next day. Stephanie and her volunteer foster parents are knowledgeable and caring, the animals are immunized, micro-chipped and socialized. Our new cats had had a rough entry to the world, but were saved from the 'kill shelter' by Wonder Cat, which fostered them, bottle fed them and loved them. We're thrilled. PS: Their Website was updated TWICE on the afternoon that we met the cats. Once to mark their profile "pending" and second to remove them, once we finalized the adoption. When I doubled back months after adoption with the female volunteer about PJ's awful demeanor, she commented that he has anger issues towards women and had to cut him off herself months prior. We did not receive any medical records for our cats including any microchip information. We were never told that one of our cats was extremely sick with respiratory issues when Fuzzy Butt Rescue first obtained them (I found this out 1.5 yrs into ownership after issues had already arose). We were never told that male, neutered cats are prone to urinary tract infections or we would have adopted female cats; I am a solo mom with 100% of everything for my child so my plate is full as is. We were never told that a key piece of healthy lifestyle for male, neutered cats in preventing UTIs is room to run around before my 10-yo son and I brought them home to our 700 sq ft condo. When confronted with health issues with our pets, PJ refused to make any effort to help us get them care. He was insulting and called me "cheap" for not being willing to spend thousands of dollars on testing despite that I took our cat to 2 emergency clinic visits after working hours the first of which was around midnight before a big job I had booked for the next day. He said he would take them back vs actually helping us to resolve the issue. Our cat's UTI was resolved with a $10 homeopathic product on Amazon that has over 10K reviews and a 4.4 star rating. He called that product "a hoax" but it worked in ONE day once I had time to stay home with the cat and treat him. PJ insulted me for even thinking of trying the homeopathic product vs agreeing to thousands of dollars of testing as a first resort. This guy is the absolute worst. If you want a pleasant and professional pet adoption process, go somewhere that has built a documented reputation in that vein which provides the necessary medical history on adoption (I wasn't aware there was any or I would have asked!). It's March 2023 and I'm looking at our cat's 9 page vet record now in after we got them in Feb 2021 and am shaking my head. This cat has major health problems. I had 2 cats as a child for almost 20 yrs with none of these issues. My son was crying in his sleep last night with a nightmare about losing our cat. Screw you and your judgment and negligence, PJ.

Ashley Ascencio and PJ McKovsky responded with rude/angry/mansplaining/outright mean emails, saying we couldn't have the cat because we'd let him go outside. Could do without the cat shaming lecture, it's not an effective way to educate people. Nasty email: "If you're next step is to go buy an animal instead of self reflecting then that speaks highly of you. We feel even more solid in our decision. Please explain to your child you do not value the lives and well being of your animals and I think he'll understand our decision too." Bad experience at this place, Avoid unless you want to deal with mean people. I also agree that they are withholding the medical history of the cats. My husband thought the cat seemed sick. I thought he was just bored and depressed in the cage, but I saw later on the facebook page that this bunch of cats all had extensive medical issues. No one informed me of that at all when we filled out the paperwork on him.
