The plant shop is a tiny little indor shop and then a really large outdoor area that is covered but still allows rain in. It's a really cool setup honestly! I chatted with the gals working there about some planty things and they seemed really knowledgeable. I walked around for a while admiring all the different plants they had for sale. They had so many options, some I'd seen a lot and some I'd never seen. I wish we had this shop in Charlotte lol. Their prices were also very affordable!!! The Bloom Garden was established 2003 and is the place I go to get flowers/plants for my Aunt/Nana. They have a wide range of assortments to choose from & I'm no floral enthusiast but their prices aren't over top. Walking through you'll probably notice they have smaller exotics closer to the center of the garden & special coconut root created plants named "Kokedama"You may also see something I've missed the few times I've visited which may warm your heart....We will just call them Peter Cottontail plus+ 1 *See photos for the the cottontails The people at Bloom are knowledgeable about the species of the plants they distribute. They are also very helpful. The location is on is off of MacDill but also a short street by a train track so parking can be crampy but you'll survive. Stumbled upon this hidden gem while driving!!! It feels very magical, and you're surrounded by plants. They have a plethora of different species and many orchids that are shown outdoor and indoors. The prices are extremely fair and not overpriced. The indoor shop has the cutest trinkets for plant lovers and unique pots. They do have a small parking lot next to the property. Went for the first time looking for help with some lily bulbs. The owner excused herself to go say goodbye to some people that were leaving and then she never came back to me. Left me just standing there. I finally hunted down another lady (maybe her mom) to ask for help and she literally told me to buy what I wanted off Amazon. I felt like Pretty Woman when no one would take her money for clothes. Bloom is such a beautiful nursery with very reasonable plant prices with sizes ranging from palm sized to towering full grown plants and trees. I've had a plant in a plastic cup growing for over a year. I uprooted it a tad while moving today and took it to Bloom and they gave it a full blown face life! I love this place! The staff is so nice, helpful and knowledgeable. They have everything and the plants are so well maintained. The shop is eclectic and whimsical. I could spend all day here. They make custom gifts and plant dishes. The have adorable items in the garden shop for indoor plants and a great outdoor selection to landscape with. I picked out plants for my flower beds and got feedback on the plants I picked and figured out how many to get and how big they would grow. They have a great selection of cacti/succulents too. Bloom is an oasis! I became interested in visiting after I saw that they hosted a plant swap. A night of hanging out with other plant nerds, surrounded by so much green? I could hardly believe it! The plants in this nursery are in amazing condition. They don't look like they were just stuck in some dirt. They don't need a lot of trimming to look good just before a sale. They're just well taken care if, and worth the money. I was asked if I needed help the minute o walked in. I was helped. I was smiled at. And I was happy. Also, they did a wicked job decorating for Halloween - look at that picture with the clown in the window...I almost dropped my plant! This plant shop has really grown on my heart. Here's why: VIBE: This is a whimsical garden shop that just makes you want to roam around for a little while. I find that I lose track of time in that place. They have cute music and bunny rabbits, and the eclectic vibe of the place is what made me fall in love. As a plant enthusiast, this is a new favorite of mine. SET-UP: If you turn done the dead-end street there is a small dirt lot that allows you to enter the garden on the side. You can follow the path and walk towards the left to find the bunnies! As you keep going, you find the cactus and succulent area. They have a few options for terracotta pots as well here. If you keep going you will find a more shaded area that has a lot of house plants that you find on Instagram on in most people's homes. On the other side is where you can buy more landscaping flowers and things. But there is another tent where you can find more houseplants. Then go inside and check out all the pots you can buy as well as more orchids and houseplants. HOW'S IT WORK: It's pretty simple. You just walk around and find some pretty plants. I usually go for the houseplants since I live in an apartment. I find that this place has all the plants on my wish list. Each time I find something new that I just have to take home. If you are buying a ton you can leave them at the register while you continue to browse. If you buy a plant and a pot, I am sure they would pot it for you. You can always ask the employees for help or tips on how to care for the plants you find. WHAT DID YA THINK: This is my new spot for plants. I am a plant lover, so for me, I go about once a week and still find plants I didn't before. The selection they have is awesome and the way they treat their customers is fantastic. I love coming here on Sunday mornings. I have been coming here for a few months now and my plants at home that I purchased are still thriving! TIPS: -DON'T feel overwhelmed or lost. Embrace mother nature and just appreciate the garden...and bunnies. -If you do feel end up feeling a little lost, don't be afraid to ask an employee. They are so friendly and are eager to help you find the perfect plant. -If you are hoping for plant success, start off on the right foot. Do a little research and asses space where you would like to have plants. That way you can explain to the staff what your light situation is and how big or small a plant you can get -YOU CAN MAINTAIN A PLANT. Everyone thinks that plants are high maintenance. Which in some cases is true but I promise you, this garden has plants that are almost impossible to kill. Just ask for some help! -But if you do kill a plant, just remember, it's a learning process and mother nature sometimes does it's own thing. read more

I've never been treated so poorly by anyone anywhere. I called to inquire about a plant I paid for 2 weeks ago that was never delivered. I would've been completely understanding if I had been contacted at all to let me know about the delay. I was kind and respectful when I called and the owner was extremely defensive, combative, and rude. I was planning to asked to have it still be delivered but he didn't even give me a chance to and told me that he didn't want to deal with me and he would refund me my money and hung up the phone on me. I admit I bought a lot of my plants from Home Depot but i wanted different varieties and in few different sizes since I don't have too much space at my home anymore LOL. Based on appearance, atmosphere and selection, this a nice "boutique" style garden/nursery. However, the last two times I went there were major issues with the plants I bought. If you're looking for specialty and/or collector plants, this is *not* the place to go. First visit: A "living stone" succulent was over watered and died within 3 days- this type of succulent typically gets watered 2-3 times per year, any more and it'll die. I knew this before purchasing and did not water it a single time before it promptly died. I also bought an airplant (t.bulbosa) that, upon closer inspection, had crown rot. I was able to salvage it by cutting off all the affected areas, but it certainly wasn't pretty and I had to make sure it stayed isolated from the rest of my collection. Second visit: Thinking that was just a fluke, I went again a few months later. They have a wide variety of plants that you can't find at your typical big box garden store. This time I bought what was labeled as a stapelia stimilis. I was super excited as I am a collector of stapelia's and most varieties are very hard to come by. I asked an employee about the flower type, as the plant was not in bloom and this is often the only way to differentiate it from other species- but she had no clue what I was talking about. Not a big deal, I don't expect every employee to know every detail, and since it was clearly labeled (labeled by hand, and with multiple plants for sale) I felt comfortable buying it. Fast forward to current- As new growth developed, I started to become skeptical that this plant was actually a stapelia stimilis. But it wasn't until it flowered that I was able to tell with absolute certainty that this was *not* the plant it was labeled as- not even close- in fact, it wasnt even a stapelia at all, nor was it a related plant in the entire carrion flower group! Extremely disappointing, especially since you'd think a smaller, more personal, and of course pricier- boutique style garden shop to have high quality plants. Just go to Home Depot- at least you'll get the plant you paid for and thought you were buying. read more

My husband and I happened upon this little gem yesterday while looking for a restaurant nearby. It is a must see for plant people and non plant people (what's wrong with you) alike! ;) There is a huge wonderful selection and I was able to check a few rare finds off of my houseplant bucket list! First review, suprised! Businesses that provide exceptional service and products must by recognized, and Bloom Garden Shop is one of these businesses. I discovered Bloom a few months ago, in search of a reputable source of veggies and herbs, as my previous procurement tomatoes and basil from Home Depot resulted in a spider mite infestation that took a month to combat (never fun). On my first trip I was greeted by a friendly, knowledgeable staff member who told me about the ideal growing conditions for the basil, tomato, and rosemary plants I selected. Prices were very fair, especially for the Palma Ceia area, with the the herbs around $4 and tomato plants $6. They were very healthy and have since produced many good sized tomatoes and batches of pesto (fresh basil, pine nuts, extra virgin olive oil, Parmesan cheese, and garlic). My experience on Valentine's day (yesterday), was what inspired me to write this review, as the service, and plants and flowers I purchased were all excellent. I was greeted and shown around the vast selection of Valentine's Day gifts, including many handmade assortments incorporating unique ornamental planters and traditional long stem roses. I picked out an orchid and some cut roses, and they were adorned with bows and cards for free. Great selection, healthy plants, fair prices and very knowledgeable staff! read more

New to town and in need of cheering up as the interior of our newly purchased house is completely torn up with workmen etc, not to mention a million boxes .... It's the Gasparilla Celebration, my house is front and center of the action and I didn't have a thing for my very lovely but completely empty front porch. I pulled in to the shop and asked if they could help me make my porch feel like home. The very next day, they arrive with a truckload of plantings for all of my many empty pots and a clever, different and attractive pirate wreath for the front door! The pots are all lushly planted with healthy, robust and attractive specimens that will only look more beautiful as they grow.Oh, and They left the porch immaculate after all the planting. This is a great little nursery. I have been there twice, and the staff is very friendly. I bought Huntington carpet rosemary and lemon thyme both times, and the plants are doing great, unlike some of the plants I got from Home Depot. This is a small local nursery. Great customer service and friendly staff. Unfortunately, they were all out of veg plants and that was what I came in for. They did have some veg plants out on display but they were in a stone pot and we were told that they were for display only and were not for sale. I have been living in south Tampa for a few years now. Lately, I have found myself being more selective about where I dispense my resources for goods, services, and..... everything. Local business establishments are usually the effing coolest and have things that you could never hope to come across at a main stream LAME store such as WallyLand or others. My husband and I have been planning and planting a new garden at our house and had been forced to troll and stake out the big giant home and garden superstore conglomerates that we all are forced to serve. Little did we know that a glowing temple of botany inspiration was down the road at Bloom. The two sisters that own and manage the shop are of the utmost substance and were completely helpful, attentive, fierce, knowledgable, and kind. The many plants and herbs that we purchased whilst there were of the highest quality in terms of health, proliferation, and lovee. (Yes they are all still alive to this day). The plants that you get there are absolutely worth what they cost. The owners told me that they are well connected and actively sell LOCAL growers' plants.... aka the bomb. Seeing the layout and impeccable selection and range of plants, herbs, and other gorgeous garden/patio items there was inspirational to say the least and I know for a fact that it is my new fountain of knowledge for everything flora..... We were searching around Tampa for a bunch of succulents to bring to a house warming party. After visiting two previous stores that did not have much of a selection and one that was closed, we ended up in the area where Bloom Garden Shop is located. We parked on the private parking lot behind the shop and walked in through the garden. There were about three workers inside and we were immediately asked if we needed help. My friends and I do not know too much about plants or flowers so we straight up told the worker that we needed a potted succulent gift with variety and that would look cute and elegant for our price range. She let us pick out a nice gold spray painted pot and then she picked random succulents to fill it up. It came out great and it received many compliments at the party as well. It was decently priced. I think this shop is good if they can provide you with what you are looking for and if you are not too picky. There were a lot of orchids here (which I love), but if you want a super big variety garden then your plant of choice may not be here. read more

I drive by Bloom Garden Shop all the time, but never stopped in.I found a lot of nurseries to be over priced, so I recently bought plants from a local home improvement store. I've been doing a lot of landscaping at home so decided I would just stop and take a look one day. I LOVED THE PLACE! I wandered around for almost an hour looking at the large assortment of plants they had. The nursery looks small from the street but I was surprised to see how big it was. I hadn't been able to decide on a good ground cover for a small meditation garden I'm making when I saw this table with the perfect plant "Baby Tears" and the ground beneath the table was covers with it. I have to say I was impressed and their prices were much lower than expected. I have returned several times since and think this is where I'm going for all my future landscaping needs. If you are into plants, gardening, landscaping or just like flowers, this is a must for you to see. Think I'm going to swing by there now for a few more plants. read more
