Super professional, incredible design with very little prompting, great communication/flexibility and tremendous value

Anita is a one of a kind person and mehendi artist. I first contacted Anita to ask about wedding henna, almost a year out from the actual event. She offered to meet up at a coffee shop for a trial run, then proceeded to hand draw templates incorporating exactly what I wanted my wedding mehendi to look like. She incorporated portraits of me, my husband, our cat, and favorite animals like elephants and peacocks. Not only is she exceptionally detailed, she is so kind and generous with her time. Anita spent 2 hours during my mehendi trial, 6 hours during doing my mehendi at my house, then another 6 hours doing it for others. She did all this with such a joyful attitude and desire to share her gifts with others. Anita really takes pride in her work, which is evident from the way she makes her own henna cones from natural ingredients and offers multiple versions to avoid allergies. Anita is exceptionally talented. On top of that, she'll bring energy, positivity, and innovation to any event you're hosting. She was wonderful to get to know and work with. My experience with Hummingbird Henna Design is strictly limited to a one time henna tattoo at a special event. This was the second time in my life that I've had a henna tattoo. Both were positive experiences. The first time was at an event in San Francisco. This artist (Anita B) was a Denver resident. Both were talented and capable artists who laid the henna ink on easily and with some flair. I loved the "Rising Phoenix" design I got this time and for the couple of weeks I had it. I was also very happy it was not permanent and that I did not have to live with it forever. Would I do it again? You bet! I wouldn't hesitate to call Hummingbird Henna Design. Anita did amazing work with henna for both us as the wedding couple as well as our friends and family at a Mehndi party in downtown Denver. She came to our home for about four hours the night before the event to do henna on our palms, the tops of our hands, and our arms. She was patient, friendly, and capable. Anita created a beautiful design for each of us that really popped as the color set. Then, the night before our wedding, Anita and a fellow artist she works with did henna for about four hours at our party. They even did custom designs for many of our roughly 100 guests at a large hotel event space in downtown Denver. Both artists diligently worked to reach everyone interested and accommodated many special requests. The henna provided an awesome memory for our guests over the following weeks. For many folks who weren't from a South Asian background this was their first time doing henna. We got so many pictures from friends and family over our honeymoon of their henna designs. For us as the couple, our henna lasted for weeks afterwards and it was a great way to feel connected to the festivities after our wedding weekend. This was my first time getting henna done professionally. She is amazing. Anita came to my house and did henna for me even driving in the snow! She's very kind and sweet and copied a google pic I found almost perfectly. I used the Jagua and it stained beautifully on my skin and lasted about 3 weeks. Got it done for a Diwali event and so many people complimented my henna. Would definitely see her again! Very reasonably priced as well. She prices based on how intricate the design is and how much surface area it covered. Mine was 15$ for each arm past my wrist. Worth it. read more

Anita from hummingbird henna is incredible! We first found out about her while doing a Google search for henna artists in Denver. I really didn't find that many on the internet but I did find Anita. We wanted to do henna for our wedding the following summer. I contacted Anita in September and we had a bridal consultation in November. She said she would try some out on us if we wanted to see how our skin would react with the stain. I was expecting a tiny design but spent about 10 minutes on each of us. She is very nice and soft spoken. My fiancé had a picture that she liked that Anita tried on her. I only said that I wanted a fish with flowers. She whipped both of them right out, free hand. I was seriously impressed. During online searches I have seen many less than spectacular henna designs but Anita was fantastic! She mixes her own paste from real henna powder and essential oils. This is comforting as most pre-made henna cones are filled with toxic preservatives that can cause allergic reactions. We booked with her right then. Although it was about 7 months from our wedding but she was already booking up. We had our henna party 2 days before our wedding (typical to allow the stain to look best) Anita ended up doing 24 people and was at our house for 10 hours! Quite a few people told us they would come to the party and not get henna or only get something tiny. Everyone changed their mind. Everyone got henna and most people got half way or all the way from hand to elbow. She was in great spirits the whole night and mentioned a few times what fun she was having with the crowd. She charges by the hour or by the piece. Both are very reasonable and she also does birthdays! (Kids too!) She is a true expert at her craft! read more

I fell in love with henna when I first got part of my hand done in Hawaii.When I got home I searched online in the Denver area and came across hummingbird henna.
