I'm from California and came to visit my kids and we wanted some good Chinese food so our kids brought us here. It was a cute little restaurant with a drive through window. The customers service was good, but they did mess up on our order which wasn't a huge deal. The food was good for what we ordered, but not what we are use too in California. Pot stickers are considered dumplings out here and have a sweet taste to them and very tiny. They only offer lo mein and not chow mein, but like I said the food wasn't horrible just different from what we are use to. We'll definitely come back sometime to try it again. read more

Very good! I ordered around 8PM during the COVID restrictions and had my order delivered on base within an hour. The quality is better than ordinary Chinese restaurants and the sauces are well balanced. The owner decided to throw in some fried chicken for me and they were delicious! This food was delicious I am honestly surprised by the quality of this takeout Chinese food. The chicken was cooked and seasoned very well the taste was robust. Me and my wife ended up ordering some food to watch the football game and was pleased with the meal we ordered. The egg rolls were fresh and the beef and broccoli was not soaked in juice . Overall I will be ordering from here again while I'm here in the middle of nowhere Kansas!! Lol read more

Ok.... let's put it out there.... you cannot judge a place from the outside, nor on the decor. And yes, you have to drive through JC to get here. You might think it's too far from the freeway to bother. It isn't! Saw the 4-star rating, so thought we'd try it out. Outside, it's near a strip club. Inside, the dining room looks like the store room. And basically tables and chairs and a well worn rug. But, this isn't important. The Food. Amazing. Large order of shrimp fried rice, Happy Family, Fried Dumplings (yaki-mandu), and two free egg rolls. The mixture in the Happy Family was perfect but the meat so tender. Fried Rice was good, not greasy. And, gave us enough to bring home to eat a second meal. Again, Book by its cover. But if you want Chinese. This IS the place. read more

This food is exactly what you're looking for if you would like really really bad takeout for a night in. Go to the store and pick up the box of takeout they have in the frozen section. It would save you money and it would taste better. Do not let the photos of the food on their website and app entice you - ordered the Kung Pao chicken thinking it was spicy and had those peppers like they showed in the photo. Nope. It was just some syrup-covered chop suey combo with baby corn, water chestnuts, bamboo shoots, peanuts, you name it. Same with the beef dish I ordered - something completely different, yet, still had the same exact veggies as our chicken dish. Almost like they prep four different proteins, shrimp, pork, beef, and chicken, and then dump in all of the same veggies no matter what you order. We stopped eating our meal because it was so incredibly flavorless. No spice, no flavor, nothing. Tasted greasy, and not even in a good way. Even with adding soy sauce it just tasted mushy. I ordered this meal ahead of time for it to be picked up at 5:45, arrived at 5:50, so it's not like it went bad from taking long to get to me. We used to live in Tacoma, Washington where there was a massive amount of Korean food and food from all over the world. I miss legit food. I know it's asking a lot for living in the middle of Kansas, but this place was just not good. No authenticity, no flavor, just disappointment. I'd stick to Manhattan, Topeka, or KC if you would like real, authentic Asian foods. It feels like this place is intentionally dulled-down for the GIs or locals. I would be very reluctant to order from here again, if ever. It was also very costly for the quality - $35 for two soups, two entrees, and egg rolls. They cheat you. I ordered 1 kungpao shrimp, 1 spicy tangy chicken, and 1 beef rice noodle. There are literally 6 pieces of shrimp in the kungpao shrimp and no more than 10 pieces of chicken. Meanwhile, they bombard the dishes with vegetables. Not worth it. If I wanted a vegetarian dish, I would have ordered something accordingly. Terrible quality read more

This is the best Chinese food you'll find in JC. The prices are very fair and delivery is free (unless you're out of the area). If you spend $15 you get either free crab Rangoon or egg rolls and if you spend$30 you get a free app. The food is made fresh and I've never waited more than 40 minutes for delivery and I'm out of their area. I hate writing reviews like this, especially because it seems like the cooks at Hunam are working so hard here in JC, but the food both my mom and I received tonight was dreadful. I got the Singapore Mei Fun and she got the Happy Family, and after about three bites we both felt an oncoming stomachache (which, now 2 hours later, still persists). We took about 3 more bites each before we decided we really shouldn't keep eating. They also put shrimp on my plate, though we specifically said we were sharing and that my mother has a severe allergy. Good customer service. Arrived quickly, about 30 minutes. Taste...not so much. Fried rice didn't look fried, it didn't have that brownish-yellowish tint to it. I ordered sesame chicken. Most Chinese take out places, it's covered in the sauce. This place the sesame chicken was very dry. I've never seen that and I've had my share of multiple Chinese take out places. Since being in Junction City I have only ever ordered delivery Chinese from Hunam. The only issue I have is the time it takes to receive my food. Tonight my husband and I decided to order out and hadn't had Hunam in a while. We ordered and TWO hours later (after calling at the hour and 20 minute mark with them telling us it was on the way..) I finally gets here. It's not hot but it's also not super cold... I had been wanting crab rangoon for a while and I was really excited to finally get it! Took a bite and it's straight up cream cheese and nothing else for filling! I thought maybe that one just didn't have any, the next surely will. I had 10 of them ordered... not one had any (imitation) crab! Not one! I know, it's not too pricey but what a scam. I'm really disappointed in this. I'm not going to call and inform them of their error only because it is now so late to (maybe..) wait for what I actually paid for. This is a horrible place to order food. First of all their delivery service is garbage. They tell you that it will be within 45mins but I got mines 20 mins late. I was starving during duty so I decided to order their coconut shrimp entree and spring rolls. Their coconut shrimp is something I wouldn't recommend, it's full of sugar. The shrimp itself is chewy like it's been frozen then over cooked. Their spring rolls are so small and crunchy. I got sick eating their meals and when I called to make a complain about it they immediately wouldn't want to compensate me. Their exact words were, "you ordered it now deal with it." Almost $80 in my food order that took almost 2 1/2 hours to get after being told 1hr to 1hr15mins. When I called to check on my order after 1 1/2hrs, I was told the delivery driver didnt show up for work. That it would be another 45mins. The food was cold when it got here. The sweet and sour shrimp looked high. But inside was a cocktail shrimp surrounded by a high amount breading. The shrimp was chewy. I couldn't eat the egg rolls. One bite and I spit it out. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Why wasnt our food remade after it obviously had sat for a long time. No discount was offered, just apologizes. Tried this location for the first time. Usually we eat at Jin Jin but we wanted to give this establishment a try. It was an unfortunate experience. Ordering: We ordered via online app. very easy to use and convenient. Location: At the end of Grant. Looked run down and not well set up. Food Options: plentiful and decent variety. Food Quality: Poor! 2/3 of our order was barely consumable. All 3 kids refused to eat what they had and my kids eat everything. Was very displeased. Soy sauce was very disgusting. Rice seemed dry/old. Orange chicken tasted bland and hard. Curry chicken was saturated in a very poorly flavored and runny sauce. Crab rangoons tasted very sour like the cream cheese was expired or old. Spring rolls were super crunchy and not very well flavored. Ice tea was put in a used 2 liter bottle with label ripped off. Tea tasted super sweet and soapy. Compared to 4 Season and JinJin...this place needs a lot of work in food quality. Overall..the food was so bad that we didnt even think twice about saving the leftovers. I felt sorry for the trashcan having to temporarily store what this place calls food. Cost / Food ratio: based on a $ to $$$$$ rating ... $ being cheap and $$$$$ being super expensive and overpriced...I give this a $$$$. This part of JC has a ton of Asian restaurants. We haven't tried any others. They were very kind and provided two egg rolls for free. They were ok. The skin was thicker than I expect, so more gummy than flaky. The food was average to below average for us. Hubby had beef fried rice. I'm not sure I would have eaten. Honestly the beef looked off color to me. It had very little flavor. I had beef and broccoli. It was much better than the hubby's. The rice was older to serve than I expect from a restaurant. I don't normally post reviews, but I couldn't let a single 1-star rating stand. We order delivery from Hunam Palace about once a month, for over a year, and have NEVER had a single mistake. Seriously. My suggestion to Mike B--try ordering online; maybe it's a language barrier? We love the airtight plastic containers that they bring the food in (no spills!), and we actually reuse them over and over again for our other leftovers. Bonus--no having to re-package the leftovers to avoid the fridge smelling like Chinese food for days. The food is really good, and their menu has crispy duck (others don't). Although I never seem to find the exact flavors I am looking for in Chinese food (being from VA), this food is still quite tasty....hence 4 stars instead of 5. We've tried the other places in JC, and this is our favorite of what is available. Note: it's not in the nicest area. Get delivery, don't pick up :) read more
