We tried to give Hunan a second chance after the first time it was bad, but second chance was a waste of time and money. I immediately felt sick after starting to eat my meal and my dates meal with literally rotten. We could smell how sour the chicken was and his fried rice looked like it had been frozen and microwaved a few times. They wanted to charge us for the whole meal, but then after explaining again that their food is rotten, we got one meal removed from our bill. Will never be going again. Also, they have a suspended alcohol license sign on their window and the first time we came, the manager was literally yelling across the restaurant, so do yourself a favor and go to Pho Saigon down the street read more

Unfortunately, while visiting from out of town, we decided to get some Chinese food. The place recommended to us was closed, so we gave this a try. Went in to order to go, and the place was really nice, and so was the costumer service. Very friendly. However, as soon as we got home to eat, the food was, less than ideal. I don't know how you can, boil chicken so much that it becomes dry. The almond chicken was completely flavorless, dry, and stale. The teriyaki beef, which was boiled beef chews, didn't even taste like anything related to teriyaki. There was just no flavor period. The egg rolls we got were packed with uncooked cold cabbage, and the crab Rangoon was soggy at best. The drive home wasn't even 5 minutes, so for certain things to be soggy, cold, and stale like it has been sitting in the back of the fridge for days was crazy. Chinese food, is very hard to screw up in my opinion. I've had it all over from many different places, some better some worse. But if I wanted to make chicken noodle rice with slivered almonds on top, and beef stew with water chestnuts to spice things up a little, I would do it at home. We took the family to Hunans last Saturday. Our food was excellent. Everyone was very happy with the presentation of their entrees and the taste. The service was excellent and the server checked on us and refreshed drinks etc. The cost was reasonable and all of us left feeling very satisfied. Nice, understatedly elegant, excellent value for the money. We went on new years eve for our wedding anniversary had to reschedule a party of fourteen and they rolled with it! They got us in, made room, gave us a break on appetizers and the service was good to boot! The only negative was so minor that only a couple members of the party of fourteen complained: the sauces on the Princess Chicken aren't spicy hot anymore. The Princess Chicken used to be so hot it brought beads of sweat to one's forehead but now they just bring out some oil that isn't spicy at all and isn't cooked into the dish. The Egg Rolls are excellent and the Crab Rangoons are fantastic! The Ta-chin fish, Princess Chicken, Flower Steak, Lemon Fish and Mongolian Beef were all good! We ordered "family style," where we passed the serving dishes around the table and each person got to try everything. The Crab Rangoons were so well liked that we had to order several more orders! To be Just, they are addictive. The service was ubiquitous in spite of another party of eighteen in the restaurant and full booths around the perimeter of the dining room. Good job guys! read more

In Nebraska for an out of state softball tournament so we decided to try Hunan's for our group of 10 people worst decision ever. Their chicken chow mein isn't really chicken chow mein but boiled chicken and cabbage and "white sauce" with some crispy chips on the side. I had to spit the food out myself and our group was unable to eat the food so we had to spend more money to buy food else where. The orange chicken was so sweet with no hint of spice whatsoever. Tried multiple times to get a refund, took me 3 days just to get the manager on the phone. She was rude and the best she could offer me was a gift card, if I couldn't eat their food the 1st time around why would I even want to think about eating it again?? I ordered from Hunans for the first time last night. I ordered online and it did say that delivery take about 55 minutes. After 90 minutes, I called the restaurant and they said my order was delayed because they only had one driver. He assured me it was on its way and said "Just don't yell at our delivery driver." Ok... so finally after two hours and fifteen minutes from the time I had placed my order, the delivery driver arrived. My chow mein came with crispy noodles on the side, although I was told on the phone they would be soft noodles, as every other dish of chow mein I've ever had is. If your idea of Chinese food is some horrid buffet or delivery just know this is a class place, clean and well lighted, very reasonably priced, and with FRESH Chinese food as good as you will find in a large city. Ordered take out. It was over cooked the chicken (General tso) was hard and dry. The rice tasted like a whole bottle of soy had been poured in it. The won ton soup was flavorless and the wontons inside it were gritty. My husband said the egg drop soup had no flavor. His sweet and sour chicken breading fell off and the chicken he got (was a lot of it) but it was like half a chicken breast gigantic pieces. Oh the crab rangoon. We were on our way west when a medical emergency stopped us in Grand Island. The doctor informed me that I wasn't to travel but had to get a hotel room and relax for the weekend. I found Hunan Chinese and decided to order from here because I could see the menu and order online. I looked up the address of the hotel, never realizing that this small town had 2 hotels of the same name. My husband received a phone call asking if we were staying in the hotel by **** hotel. Yes that's the one....OK After waiting about an hour my husband gave them a call to make sure that they received the order. The man who he spoke with was incredibly rude, told him that we put down the wrong address (what about the call asking if we were at the one by Quality Inn) This man yelled at my husband telling him how there are two Days Inn's and we gave them the wrong address. He informed my husband that he had better tip the driver extremely well for him to come back out. My husband hung up the phone very shocked. We had had a rough day, we're not from here, I googled the address and used what came up having no idea that there were 2 Days Inn hotels. My husband called them back and a woman answered he explained that he wanted the order cancelled and our money back and then he explained why. She said that she would take care of it. Not even 5 minutes later there's a knock on the door and it's our dinner. The delivery guy was very friendly and we took our meal and didn't make any kind of scene. $46 worth of cold Chinese food wasn't the greatest and the man on the other end of the phone ruined our appetite. Despite that fact that there is a limited amount of restaurants that serve this type of food it was very disappointing. From the time that Hunan's opened it was know for generous servings of amazing food. Now it seems that they do not care what they are serving. I've been coming here, ordering takeout or delivery for years (around 15 years). They use to be a 4 star. But in the past year they have slipped to a 3 star. I have received several different chicken dishes where the chicken was so over cooked it was inedible. When I let them know they basically told me I was wrong. Then a couple of weeks ago I called for delivery on a Sunday and ordered 4 entrees letting them know I was using 2 of the buy one get one 1/2 off coupons from the Sunday newspaper and was told I could only use one coupon per the owner, even though the coupons states that 2 coupons can be used at one time. I'm not sure if Fred is still the owner. If he is I'm thinking he's not running the restaurant any more. When Fred was there the food was always top notch as was the service. I'm not sure if I'll be back. Maybe I'll give them a try again in a year or so. But not sure. read more

Ordered delivery, which it states very clearly that there is a wait time of up to 55 minutes. So approximately 1hour and 15min after I placed my order, it arrived. Most of the food was cold, my two kids meals were covered in ketchup, and there was no sweet and sour sauce on the sweet and sour chicken. I enjoy finding a new Chinese restaurant and giving it a try. My husband and I decided to give it a try based on good reviews. First off walking in the doorway was so packed, that you had no idea who was paying or waiting for a seat. We probably stood there at least 15 minutes without even being acknowledged, and we weren't the only ones. When we finally got to our seat it took quite a while just to get our drinks let along place our order. I will give our server the benefit of the doubt, they seemed short staffed and everyone was running around like a chicken with their head cut off, and he kept his cool. As we were there, more workers came in to help, and it got a little less hectic, but a very hectic environment. I over heard many customers trying to get their waiter's attention, to no prevail. The table next to us was quite unhappy as well. The Crab Rangoon's were very average nothing exciting, the eggroll was huge, and my husband said it was very good. My Wonton soup was quite good, and I had hope for the rest of the meal. I ordered the Triple delight and my husband ordered the Kung-Pow chicken. When they finally arrived, I don't know if I have ever had to wait that long for Chinese food, it looked decent. However, I was not impressed at all. My chicken and beef both tasted overcooked, chewy and flavorless. The shrimp and broccoli was good, but that was about it. My husband also stated that his chicken was flavorless and chewy. Neither of us could even finish our meals. I also had the pleasure of a cart of dirty dishes sitting next to me almost the entire time. I do not enjoy dirty dishes being slammed in there and that much half eaten food next to me, my entire meal. As well as the server's backsides in my face the whole time when they would put plates there. The prices were good, and decent portions, but not worth it. Really quality american/chinese in Nebraska!! The wonton soup is really good, the broth has a great texture and very flavorful. Both fried wontons and crab rangoon are quite nice. They have some of the best fried products I've ever had. The fried items come out as crispy as can be without any grease at all!! The least greasy fried food I think I've ever had. I've tried both the orange chicken (really crispy, not very spicy with a sweeter sauce than I'm used to) and the happy family (pretty good, but would be so much better with fresh mushrooms than the horrid canned button mushrooms, canned straw mushrooms I can forgive but really, canned white mushrooms?) Their rice is really superb. It's becoming one of my favorite places for lunch in GI. Where else can u get a drink, soup, appetizer and entree for under $8 in a nice sit down atmosphere? As a post script, the place is really nice. They have one of the nicest restaurant bathrooms I've seen in this state. They take the time to notice the small details that make you feel at home. read more

Our delivery order took 1 hour and 40 minutes and not only was it wrong, you could tell it had been done for quite awhile because it was soggy and not hot. Both of the items we ordered were wrong. I formerly was alright with this location. However, changes to their sizing/portions, as well as orders, has left me less than impressed. Frequently, I have received the incorrect order, and also have been told that it's what I ordered. American Chinese food is incredibly common, and commonly-named dishes leave very little room for interpretation. Needless to say, I do not recommend anymore. read more
