Breakfast skillet with eggs, sausage and delicious gravy.

Great find! Excellent food, friendly attentive service, clean and pleasant atmosphere. Been back several times this weekend and will return when next time I'm in town. Close to American Wilderness Campgrounds.

    Breakfast of champions...steak and eggs.

When you're travelling and need to stop for a bite it's like a dice shoot. Will it be good? Will it be bad? You might as well ask a Magic 8 Ball. This time it was pure magic. A small town diner for sure, but the kind where everyone that walks in was greeted by name. The coffee was perfect. The food was delightful. The sausage gravy could be it's own food group! And this place IS for the hungry bears because the portions were huge and they kept trying to give us coffee to go! You walk in a stranger and leave as family! All the employees were so polite and pleasant and just downright sweet! It may be a bit off the beaten path but if you want a culinary hug and a happy heart and stomach...here...you MUST come here!

Came upon the Hungry Bear after visiting the Litchfield flea market for the first time today. It was just before 12 noon. He parking was full so I'm front of the Hungry Bear Restaurant... that is always a good sign. We seated ourself and had a choice of breakfast or lunch menu. My daughter picked eggs, mandolin home fries and a slice of ham. I opted for a BLT grilled chicken lettuce salad. We were surprised by the super fast service. We would definitely come back. Was a pleasant experience! Oh, almost forgot... we had to take an enormous cinnamon roll to go! $22 was our bill, cheap eats!

    Are they open on Mondays?

Their listing on Yelp doesn't give days and hours. I would call them at 330-725-5534

I just had the absolute worst customer service I've ever experienced at a restaurant…read more To begin the journey, I called to place a pickup order which consisted of two pizzas and two calzones. It took at least six times for me to state my order, and the gentleman I was speaking with to repeat it back to me incorrectly before we both felt comfortable that he had the details right. He was an older fellow so I tried to be patient and told him that order accuracy is everything so I was ok spending the extra time to make sure the order was right. Once I arrived and my order was ready, we realized that one of the pizzas had the wrong toppings. At first I told them just to refund that part of the order because by the time they remade that one and I got everything home, the stuff that was right wouldn't be good after sitting in the boxes for so long. They insisted that they could remake the pizza in 8 minutes and that everything was would be fine if they left the rest of the order on top of the ovens. I repeated at least twice that I would prefer the partial refund, but they continued to insist so I grudgingly agreed. Once that one was done, they showed it to me and mentioned they added extra cheese. I was handed four boxes which allegedly contained my original order. They also told me they added an extra calzone and a slice of cheesecake in an attempt to make up for their error. Fast forward to the house and when I opened the boxes, I found not only the pizza that they remade, but also a duplicate of that pizza instead of one of the calzones I ordered and the "bonus" calzone looked like it had been sitting on the counter for the last 12 hours. To top it off, as I expected the two items from the original order that actually were correct were ice cold by that point. I will never, ever do business with these people again. It's a shame, because the food is decent when they get it right. It's simply just not worth the hassle. I was wrong about giving the benefit of the doubt to the older gentleman. I arrived early and had a good 15 minutes to see how he interacted with both the employees and other customers. Someone needs to tell him he should step away from the front lines.

Ordered the large New Yorker. It has a spicer sauce with pepperoni, mushrooms, and sausage…read more The spicer sauce was imperceptible. I prefer a heavier sauce and it was kind of runny. It tasted good and the portions of meat were good. I dunno. It wasn't bad and it wasn't like I had to have it again. Maybe I'll give it another whirl down the road.

I got #1, my husband got #8…read more We were in Thailand and my husband was watching videos about this places for weeks! We finally made his dream came true and the sandwich was delicious! For me it would be awesome if the bread was fresh or soft, for me, only my thought, that would be awesome! Some people love the crispy bread but I love softer :) Anyway, my husband in love with it. All good! Haha

Fabulous sandwich shop in LIttle Italy on Murray Hill. The shop is intimate and simple. The owners…read moreare super friendly and kind and happily explained the menu to me. They have about 8 or 9 sandwich options all made to order on a crispy focaccia bread. They also offer my favorite, San Pellegrino Italian sodas and homemade chocolate chip sea salt cookies. They slice the meat for you right there and it was all super fresh. I got the #2 which had salami, prosciutto, and capicola with burrata and pickled hot peppers. The sandwich was good and tasted really fresh. I really enjoyed the burrata. I also did not miss the fact that there was no sauce or spread on it. I'm not a huge fan of crispy or hard bread, so I think I would have loved it even more if there was a soft bread option. I definitely look forward to returning though, maybe they do have another bread option available, I didn't ask. You can also customize the sandwich, so I would have added some arugula. The cookie was incredible!
