The lady was really nice and helpful in trying to get my mom in but her extra wide chair probably won't fit. Oh I love this place! I come often. It is a cozy pub. There is a dining area separate from the bar - since I come to dine, I go there. The burgers are good. But the star here is the "British fare" - fish & chips, bangers & mash, even a full English breakfast (black pudding optional). This is a fantastic place! We all love the food and the service was fantastic. Making sure we were well taken care of. I had two glasses of wine large and they were truly large glasses of wine Cabernet and it was a good wine that I liked a lot. We had scotch eggs as an appetizer, and these are excellent. I make them myself, and I thought these were even better. The pepper the pepper jack cheese bites were fantastic. We took a box home because we couldn't finish them all and we'll make sure to microwave them up. They were also very good. My wife had a cottage pie and it was more than she could possibly eat, and she loved it. My son had the butter chicken and he thought it was also very, very good. I had the bubble and sneaky and to be honest I lived in Europe for 13 years and I never had it in the UK but it was excellent. I wouldn't pass this place up. It's local. It's got a very quiet, nice dining room and the service is fantastic. You must come back always here. We loved it. read more

We were in town for an audition at Oberlin. Very hungry after a long morning and found the Bulldog on yelp. Glad we did both left stuffed. Excellent fish and chips and great burger. Also this must have some legit connections to UK as they had Smithwicks, and Guiness on tap. Also some good local beers on tap. I would come again for sure. The sausage rolls are also good but they needed a little more time heating up and would have been perfect. I think the waitress rushed them because we waited a bit to be served. I met our friends here at their favorite neighborhood bar and restaurant....and I see why it's their favorite! First, the menu had me at Scotch Eggs. Second, they have smoked wings, which I'm also a huge fan of. But honestly, their whole menu was appealing to me. We sat at the bar and we had some drinks before our food arrived. They have pull tabs/cardboard crack, so my boyfriend was happy with that. The bartender was friendly and there was a few other people sitting at the bar, along with a few people at tables, last Wednesday night. It was raining outside and I could see why the restaurant wasn't too busy. My boyfriend and I decided to share a burger and share the Scotch Eggs. The bartender gave us some smaller plates to share our food with- the plates were vintage and reminded me of a tea room. Cute touch. The Scotch Eggs...probably some of the best I've had! So delicious! I was in Heaven. The burger was really good too and the bartender took extra precaution when I told her I had a dairy allergy....the cook came out and talked to me to ensure nothing I had was cross contaminated. Excellent service in that regard! Oh, and the onion rings...excellent! I will definitely come back! And definitely for the Scotch Eggs again. Need to try the wings next time. read more

Went to Bulldog on a spur of the moment decision. Glad we did. The dining room was full because there was a singer singing songs. We ate at the bar. The bartender was a bit frazzled but once she calmed down we got decent service. I had a couple Smithwicks Irish Ale (pronounced Smiddicks) and the Bubble and Squeak and my wife had a burger. Mine was good hers was an average burger. Looks like a lot of good things on the menu and I will come back and try some more. The ambiance is ok, it's a bar with Keno and sports. My kind of place. The burgers are huge and you get your option of kettle chips, onion rings or fries with it. They have a great draft beer selection along with a ton of craft brew options bottled too. We lived in the U.K. for 20 years. This place has the charm and feel of an English pub. We had the Fish and Chips and Steak and Ale pie. The fish and Chips were spectacular. The batter was authentic and the fish was cod, just as the best British fish is. The steak and ale made was also very good. Our entrees were the cottage pie and the bangers and mash which were both quite tasty with generous portions. They opened a week ago I believe so our first time here. We started with the cheese bites which were very good. The Bramble cocktail was delicious though I would have preferred bourbon instead of vodka. I ordered the Fish and Chips which was amazing. The fish was mild and thick cut. My husband had the classic Cottage Pie. The portion was generous and he could not finish it. Being as this place isn't far from home, I'm sure we will be visiting again. Good luck! read more

Decided to stop in and try the place out one day a few months ago. There were a few people at the bar and one table from what we could see, there was another section of seating we couldn't see. We ordered a couple of drinks and the cheese bites appetizer. My boyfriend got beer, I tried the bramble, which I enjoyed so much I got a second. The pours on my drinks were different. One glass seemed to not be filled up as much as the other was. The appetizer we ordered was good. I enjoyed their dipping sauce. However, there is another bar that we frequent that serves the same appetizer at about half the price. My boyfriends beer is cheaper at the other bar as well. We looked around at what everyone else was ordering to see if we wanted to eat dinner there, it looked like the portions were pretty small for the price they were charging. We decided to just stick to the appetizer and get dinner elsewhere. read more

I really wanted to love this place. I see their posts on FB all the time and the food always looks delicious. We went in on a Friday night, at 6pm to beat the crowd that was supposed to show up at 7:30 and ended up not leaving til close to 7:15pm. Service was very slow. They also could have made more money from us, but they never offered the two people I was with another beer;they were only able to get one. She finally brought out water, but she left it on another table so we had to help ourselves (she forgot we asked). We were asked if we were staying for bingo to which we replied we wouldn't be able to get our kid to sit for a full hour and a half til the entertainment started;she forgot that too and apologized saying she was slow to bring out our bill bc she thought we were staying longer. I had to approach her to ask for our bill 2x. She apologized saying a large table of people were seated right before be arrived. I get it, it's okay and when you're busy it's normal to forget things, but to get slow service for sandwiches (chicken wrap & 2 burgers) and mediocre food, to only leave and not see the place that bust, it dosent give me the urge to return. I'd give the review more of a 2 1/2 if I could. I hope I'm wrong however and if we do return by some chance that the service and food it better. read more
