    Persian chicken stew
    Austin G.

Located near many of Vienna's popular attractions, Hungry Guy serves Israeli street food inside a design-forward space and on an outdoor patio perfect for people watching. On a Wednesday evening, my wife, six-year-old daughter, and I dined on the patio. Here's our experience. 1) Food: The menu is large with traditional Israeli food and a few unique items blending Austrian and Israeli flavors. To feed the three of us, we ordered the hummus, baba ghanoush, schnitzel in a pita, and the "Fesendjan," Persian chicken stew on a bed of hummus. The "Fesendjan" was the winner for all three of us. 2) Drinks: They serve Pepsi products in cans, but you can always ask for free tap water. Vienna has some of the world's best tap water. 3) Service: You sit anywhere you like and order inside at the register when you're ready. Once the food is ready, a server brings it out to you. 4) Space: It's beautifully designed and comes with an outdoor patio. There's a restroom inside.

    The vibe is low key.

100% find this place! We had the schwarma in a pita...and wow...just wow. This is the kind of place that makes you sad you do not have anything like it at home.

Meat falafel & shakshuka, both with a ton of hummus

At first I thought it was just going to be some upscale schwarma but it's so much more. My wife went for falafel that were part meat part chickpea which was really unique. You could definitely taste both the meat and the chickpea. It came with fries that were well cooked and a bunch of hummus. Shakshuka wasn't quite the shakshuka I was expecting as it would've been great with more egg, a bit spicier, and maybe less hummus. But that doesn't mean it wasn't good, cuz it was good. There was a lot of hummus, more than was really needed but it made for a great tomatoey spread with the pita breads. Would definitely go back, might opt for meats next time tho

    Chicken shawarma - highly recommended

This place was amazing! Right in city center so a bit expensive, but the portions are large enough to share. Concept-counter service with incredibly friendly staff. Lots of amazing drinks from alcohol to juice. The decor is very appealing as it's rustic, clean and a bit industrial. The kitchen is small, but visible so that helps with peace of mind. Outdoor seating was very nice, that's where I chose to sit. Whole restaurant is open when it's warm so might not be the best option if you're looking for an indoor spot. The food-amazing!! The chicken shawarma dish was out of this world. Flavorful, fresh and substantial. A must go in Vienna!

Pita bread and hummus with egg

If you love hummus then this is the place for you! I ordered the hummus bowl with a hard boiled egg and it was literally a GIANT bowl of hummus. The servings are pretty hefty so come hungry. The pita bread is also the freshest, best pita bread you will ever find! You order at the counter and then they bring the food to you. The service is very fast and the place can get a little busy but it is so good!

Nice place with a cool street vibe. Found it purely by chance on the walk back to the hotel. Interiors are modern and clean; service is pleasant and multilingual. Only downside is cash only. Ordered the best fries and the shawarma..both were very good. Would go back if I get the chance.

I had a difficult time finding food that I like in Vienna. I'm so glad my family took me to this one.

While I was wondering to use take out service but I decided to do a table dining in. I ordered the Beef and Pork filet tips with spinach dumplings in creamy mushroom, called Regina Reindl. It was a big portion and delicious. The hotel is owned by a family for centuries. Rooms are spacious if you aren't expecting 27" tv and an old phone that reminds the good old days. Really enjoyed the lunch specials, but even things on the regular menu- like the pizzas- were great. I thought service was excellent, the servers speak excellent English (how I wish I spoke German even half as well as they speak English). You can eat inside or outside- on the lovely terrace, with a view of Votiv park and the Votiv church. Just one caveat- there are wasps in the hedge that surrounds the outside eating area, sit away from it or inside if you are allergic to wasps. The wasps were very interested in our food- but they were not particularly aggressive. We could wave them gently away. Just to give you an idea of price- a 2 course lunch special was around 14 euro- and I got a starter salad (small but good, served in a glass) and a veal entree- which was huge. I also had spaetzle and schnitzel at the Roth, and that was also delicious and HUGE.

There isn't much open in Vienna on a Sunday around here, and by the time we got out of the hospital the first time to wait on blood tests, we were famished and looking for anything decent to eat. The restaurant was virtually empty when we entered, but the kitchen was open and we were seated quickly. There's a smoking and non-smoking section. They close the pocket doors to keep the smoking and non-smoking section separate, so we were virtually alone for most of dinner except when the server popped her head in. This place is proof that mom and pop shops are universal, and generally wonderful. This place had the feeling of a diner/dive bar. Not only was the server super nice and put up with our broken German, the food was seriously amazing. The goulash and the veggie soup with pancake strips were amazing. I also highly enjoyed the Wien white wine. I'm not entirely sure what we ordered for our main course, but it was all delicious, comforting, and tasted like a home-cooked meal made by someone's grandma. All in all, we got out of there for around 30 euros and were extremely happy.

I pointed to it in the dessert showcase near the front door. Elegant interior, tables spaced nicely. Near Stadtpark.
