I would not recommend Great Lakes Dental based on my experience as a new patient…read more Before scheduling appointments for my son and me, I specifically called to confirm that our insurance was accepted and that our routine cleanings would be covered. I was assured that they were. However, after our visits, we received a bill for more than $300 for services that we believed would be covered by insurance. When I contacted the billing department multiple times to resolve the issue, I was told that the office charges more than what my insurance allows for a cleaning. Had this been explained upfront, I could have made a more informed decision about receiving care there. I was also disappointed with how the billing situation was handled. Despite repeated attempts to discuss the matter, no meaningful resolution was offered. We even received a past-due notice before ever receiving a proper statement outlining the charges. The clinical experience itself was not particularly positive. The hygienist was chewing gum during the appointment and was not especially gentle. My son was given fluoride treatment without anyone discussing it with me beforehand or asking for permission. The office environment also felt dated and less welcoming than other dental practices we have visited locally. Overall, between the unexpected charges, lack of communication regarding costs, billing frustrations, and the quality of the patient experience, this was not a positive experience for our family. I would encourage anyone considering this office to carefully verify all costs in writing before receiving treatment.

But l just came back from having a new crown refitted on a lower l.h. molar that was crowned by Dental Impressions less than 5 years ago. The cost is $1300.00, the most current expense in a series of issues originally caused by dental work done in the Dental Impressions office. I think l am a reasonable client/patient. (I had my first dentist for 30 plus years.) But, with Dentist Impressions, l have only felt sadness and frustration with the treatment given to me and with this most current expense, l finally had to say something. I give this office two stars only because my deceased husband Robert was satisfied with his care and Dr Michelle VanDyke worked with his kidney transplant centers to provide medical data they needed.

The hygienist also something on my mouth to rest my jaw on while they worked. I left there completely amazed at how great it went. Three hours later and the numbness was gone.
