First of all, walk in the back door, not the front. The outside area has a nice seating area but no shade, still good for a good weather day visit. Inside is old school, you can definitely tell as soon as you walk in, it's hasn't been updated in a LONG time but honestly it's kinda cool to see it in what was probably pretty close to how it originally looked. Walk around the counter to place your order with the menu clearly displayed on the wall. The chef is a one man show and cooked to order. He was friendly and attentive despite being alone. On to the food... Finally a place that salts fries properly without needing more. It's the little things for me I normally have to ask for salt every where but they were piping hot and salty!! I ate the smothered chicken sandwich. Fresh slice of tomato, well seasoned roaster bell peppers were the highlight. I felt it lacked seasoning but maybe I'm too much of a sodium junky. The red aioli seemed too thin but that could have been due to the juicy tomato. Bacon Cheeseburger was fresh and the toasted italian was good. Burger of course was sliding off the bread every time a bite was taken. This is a solid place to try. I'm secretly wishing we would have gotten breakfast but that we'll do next time.

Burger was hearty, fresh, and cooked to a perfect medium. Fries were good too. The presentation was appealing, see the photo. They've got a big game room that even includes a shuffleboard table. I saw several signs saying no one under 21 allowed IN THE BAR after 7 pm, which is an excellent practice that I applaud, but I think that unfortunately that probably does not apply to the game room...otherwise why add the words "in the bar." Parking is in the rear (shared lots) and I did not see any handicap spots. Bathroom nice and clean. The menu appears to have lots of options for all types of eaters, including gluten free and plant based, however our server was not knowledgeable about the ingredients or preparation methods for the options, resulting in a lack of confidence about the safety of our choices. When we asked if she could check with the kitchen she said she didn't think so. Additionally, Toasted charges $1 for any changes/alterations, including substituting tofu for meat AND eggs; this results in a diner paying MORE for less food which doesn't make sense. They also charge extra for plant based milk, which even Starbucks has stopped doing. The service: not great. First another table's food was delivered to us resulting in confusion. Our party ordered two veggie sandwiches, one with no mayo and dressing for the greens on the side, the other WITH mayo AND dressing. One arrived with mayo and dressing on the side, the other without any mayo with dressed greens. An omelet ordered without meat arrived with sausage. When it was sent back it was remade with bacon instead. The third time was okay, other than still having one piece of bacon on top. One of our party didn't receive her food until everyone else was nearly finished eating (it was a grain bowl, which should not have taken very long to prepare). The food: mixed. The cinnamon roll - fabulous. The veggie sandwich - dry, lacking flavor (both the one with mayo and the one without). Tomato soup and avocado toast both lacked flavor and pizzaz. The toasted cheese sandwich consisted of a large concealed lump of cheese sandwiched between buttered, quite well-toasted sourdough. The coffee was fine. Pricing: as expected for brunch. That said, I would NOT pay $15 again for that particular veggie sandwich (or $4 for coffee). Overall, I love brunch, and I expect brunch to love me back. Toasted has a long way to go to meet my expectations.
