Prior to my visit when I asked about a trail map, there was no response. Upon arrival at the property, the only trail I was told of was the one that led from the cabin to the lake. This is very misleading, A big part of the reason I booked this place was the nature trails. Post-visit I was told no one has ever asked about a trail map before. Over 100 acres of trails and no map or markers or signage except for the lake trail. That's ridiculous. The cabin needed cleaning. There were spiderwebs in bathroom. Webs in the corners of the bedroom ceiling, a cobweb hanging from the ceiling. These webs looked like they had been there a while. The ceiling fan was covered in dust. I booked a cabin to be able to have use of the full kitchen. The microwave door handle was hanging on by a thread. It appeared someone had previously attempted to fix it with glue, which obviously did not work well. The shower handle came off in my hand, but I was able to put it back on. The toilet was running and then stopped working. Eventually, someone came to fix the toilet. The next day, the toilet stopped flushing again. The kitchen window did not close all the way, allowing bugs to come in. The screen of the screen door is not attached, and the door does not close flush with the door frame. It was not possible to have front door open because there was ample room for bugs to come in. The listing says "Peace and Quite!!! Very Private". It was not private, it wasn't even quite quiet. There is a good amount of streetnoise, the cabin is set very close to the road. Bring earplugs. Private? No. It is a very short walk to the playground because the playground is directly across the street. A fence separates you from house next door, clear view of their home and yard. Not nearly as secluded as you'd think. They asked if I would not leave a negative review in exchange for a refund. I don't do hush money. People deserve to know what to expect from this place.

My family rented a pontoon boat from Payne Water Sports in White Lake, NY, and it was one of the…read moremost frightening experiences we've ever had. Before we even left the dock, the boat was already taking on water. As my family was boarding, an employee actually told us that because there was water inside the boat, most of us should stay on the opposite side to balance it. Looking back, that should have been a major warning sign. There were 16 people on board, including 4 children, and we trusted that the boat was safe to operate. Shortly after leaving, the boat stalled in the middle of the lake. We immediately called the company for assistance. Fortunately, a police boat noticed us because they could clearly see the amount of water inside our boat. The officer was able to help restart the engine and personally drove the boat back to shore. Had law enforcement not happened to see us, I don't know what would have happened. We genuinely believe the boat could have capsized, putting everyone aboard--including four children--at serious risk. What made the experience even worse was the way we were treated when we returned. Instead of showing concern for our safety, one employee greeted us with what appeared to be a smirk and accused us of damaging the boat. We were shocked. The boat was already taking on water before we ever left the dock, and we had reported the problem as soon as it stalled. Safety should always come before profits. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this business. If you value your safety and the safety of your family, I would strongly encourage you to rent from a company that properly maintains its boats and takes customer concerns seriously.

The best thing, Happy Days is only 4 miles from one of the greatest attractions in New York ....Bethel Woods, the 69' Woodstock Concert Field and the historic Woodstock Museum (which is a must see... you'll thank me later). The campgrounds are covered in pine trees, so you awake to great, fresh smelling air. It's very clean. The showers, bathrooms and rec room were immaculate. I drove my RV here, but on the premises, you can rent well restored, classical 3-wheel campers for a minimal fee and spend the night in camping luxury (and instead of my gas guzzling RV, I'll bring my car next time, instead and still save).... Tim, one of the owners, is great. From his story, he had no intention of running a campsite. He was in corporate management. He came to Happy Days as a kid. When the woman who owned the site told him, he'd have to find another place to camp next year ... the wheels went into motion. This campsite is Tim and his brother's baby and the care and the high standards they have also shows in their appreciation of their customers ... and I'm sure that comes from having originally been a customer of the campsite. Make sure you make reservations in advance, especially when Bethel Woods has a concert planned for the weekend. I was going to stay an extra day but I waited too long. Booked for the Bethel Woods concert goers.

My girlfriend and I spent a few hours here on a Sunday afternoon in May. If you rent a boat you can keep it out as long as you want, and you have access to the whole property for the entire day. We spent awhile in kayaks and had the whole lake to ourselves for the entire time. We then spent some time down at the swimming hole and had that to ourselves as well. Everyone who works there was incredibly friendly and helpful. Beautiful day overall and the perfect end to a perfect weekend getaway.

The people who come here are really stretching the concept of "camping". They bring giant speakers and even TVs and power them with loud gas generators. The campground supposedly has quiet hours after 11pm but they do nothing to enforce them and when you bring up the lack of enforcement they just kind of shrug. One night we stayed people played loud music all through the night until 5am. If you value enjoying nature with a good night's sleep stay far far away from here.

Campsite (3/5): These are a bit stacked on top of each other but our group had two next to each other so it didn't impact us too much. There was a huge group at the top which partied into the night though we're up late anyhow and it was no issue for us. Consider earplugs if you're not like us. Minus a star here because on the last day the women's room was out of order -- but I believe it was due to another guest, as a member of our party heard someone say "oh no it's not flushing!" This is my second time doing a float trip with Kittatinny Canoes, but my first time from this base…read morecamp and I would never do it again. The employees working there were not helpful at all. After we were dropped off at the launch point, one employee gave a quick safety speech and then disappeared. No one helped us tie our tubes together or navigate the steep drop-off with our tubes to get into the water, which was extremely slippery and rocky. We were told the float would take 2-2.5 hours. This was wildly inaccurate. It took us an hour to float from the drop-off point back to camp. When we previously did the trip from Barryville, the float was much longer. For what we paid, this was a complete waste of money. Then, when we reached the ending point around 4 p.m., we were harassed by three teenage employees who were yelling at us and demanding that we bring up our tubes immediately. There was no one else going out with those tubes at that time, and we simply wanted to sit and relax for a few minutes since the float had been so short. The employees were unnecessarily rude and nasty about it. I feel bad for the people who paid to camp out on this site. It was pathetically small and claustrophobic. Do yourself a favor and book a float trip with another company. After this experience, I would not return to or recommend Kittatinny Canoes at either base camp. EDIT/UPDATE: After the owner's response, I wanted to provide some additional context because I don't feel her response accurately reflects what we experienced. First, regarding the float time: the website states that the trip is 2-3 hours, not 2-2.5 hours. I understand that river conditions can affect the timing, but the conditions on Saturday were considered normal summer levels, with no flood warnings or high water advisories. Our float was significantly shorter than the advertised timeframe. We were also surprised by how close the drop-off point was. The bus barely drove us up the road before letting us out, and the location itself seemed like an odd place to start the trip, being let out in what appeared to be a vacant grassy field directly next to the Riverside on the Delaware townhomes, not even 3 full miles away. I feel bad for the people who live there. It did not feel like we were out in nature, enjoying lush vegetation. I could literally hear landscaping equipment buzzing along the float. As far as the landing area, we did not see anyone trying to get out of the water with kayaks while we were there, nor did the teenage employees tell us that kayakers were waiting to come through. They were not helping people navigate the landing area; they were primarily standing around and yelling at guests to bring their tubes over to the trailer. If they had politely explained that we were blocking kayakers or asked us to move for that reason, that would have been completely understandable. That is not how the situation was handled. Our issue was not being asked to move. It was the attitude and lack of helpfulness from the staff from the moment we arrived. We would have been happy to cooperate if the situation had simply been explained to us. Unfortunately, that was not our experience, and the owner's response does not change what we personally witnessed during our trip
