George is a great mechanic and a good, honest man…read more I went to him a few months ago when my check engine light turned on and 2 codes for my transmission came up which was nerve-wracking and financially concerning for me. 70% of the other mechanics I called for quotes weren't comfortable working on a Subaru transmission and the other 30% were trying to rip me off. When I dropped my car off at George's shop, he said that the codes were no longer there (only showing up in the history) and that he drove the car around and checked everything just to be sure the car was safe and functioning well, but since he didn't find anything wrong with the car, he didn't charge me the diagnosis fee. He did recommend that I get new tires (it was about that time lol) and the price he charged me for quality tires and the installation were way more than fair. Fast forward to now, my car is still functioning perfectly. He told me back then that sometimes when it rains hard (which it was the night my light went on), sometimes wires getting wet can trigger the check engine light turning on and those codes coming up. I appreciated George's kindness and honesty, and I'm not sure that other mechanics would've treated me with the same respect and honesty. He's also very friendly and responsive. My Transmissions was acting up, so I research for a Transmission Service company online and put in…read moremy information and within minutes N & M Transmissions responded and told me to being my car in right away, so I brought my car in. It was right before Thanksgiving and they took care of my car issue in less that a week, meanwhile I took it to the dealer before hand and it took them a week to tell me what was wrong with my car, they also didn't fix the issue that I took it in for, but instead they took it upon themselves to do other work on the car that I didn't ask them to do and billed me for it, the total cost was about $1,800 dollars and my car was in the same condition that I brought it into them for. To make matter worse, they wanted to charge me $6.800 dollars to replace my transmissions on top of what they had already charge me. A total rip off the deader are especially when the warranty has expired. I had a choice as to where I wanted to take my vehicle for servicing, but I chose N & M Transmissions because it was local to where I live, and I'm glad I did. Not only did they display great technical knowledge about transmissions, but they impressed me with their honesty, a rare commodity with auto mechanics these days. They explained everything to me in great detail so that I knew everything they were doing or planning to do, so there were no surprises. They're honest mechanic, they also told me about some other issues that I had with my car that the dealer should had taken care of. n &m rebuild my transmission on my 2005 ford escape and just shy of a year of the work being done…read moreon the same month but 4 days of 1 year the tranni started failing so i went back and told him the problem and i only put 11,ooo miles on it he offerd to change the tranni oil and after he did that i drove off and the car broke down. i truly think he did that to force me to rebuild the tranni with him again. do not trust this place and i highly recommend that this place is not trustworthy. do not go there or you will be extreamly sorry. obviously the owner will lie and do anything for money!!

The son, who runs the mechanic side looked it over. And before he did any work he took me into the garage and showed me what exactly was wrong. It was the pulleys to the serpentine belt.
