This buiding is huge. There isn't too much in this town, so they don't have much competition. The employees were supernice, but wasn't great service. They took our plates about 30-40 minutes after we were done eating. I was going to pile them on top of each other but I guess thats too much for the lady. I got a club sandwich which was tasty, the fries were very blah. They also had a bunch of different bakery items, but I didn't try any. read more

Such sweet ladies working. We stopped in and asked if they could make us coffee to go and they happily did. This is a gorgeous historic building with high ceilings and charm. This was our first visit to Hunter's and we were very pleased. I ordered the Reuben sandwich with turkey (so it was actually a Rachel sandwich) and it was delicious. My husband had the Philly wrap and he loved it. It did take a little longer to receive the meal, but well worth the wait. We passed through Sweetwater and made a second trip that way and browsed some antique stores there. We decided to eat local and gave this place a try. The visitors center recommended and said their food was always good. We decided on burgers. I got the spicy burger and husband got a regular hamburger. Both were hot and tasty! The server was super nice, stayed on top of things and mentioned they use local farmers for their beef. We wanted some banana bread but it was sold out before we could try some! They have very generous portions in their bakery window and def will stop again if we travel that direction again. Also, it's a local family that works in the cafe, they cook, bake etc! read more

The chicken ranch wrap is good, fries and homemade kettle chips too. But my favorite is the apple cake. Oh so yummy. The ladies there are super sweet. The restaurant itself is nice. On Saturday, after a long day of riding our scooters (Motorcycles) and on our way back we went through Sweetwater, TN, which if you haven't been, has some nice shops and a quaint little town. ANYWAY, it is a local "Café" and I really wanted a cold beer and when we went in and sat down, low and behold, they had bottle beer! Not a big selection but typical domestic stuff, but no craft beer so the don't get a +1 from me but will give them 1/2 point. Place has maybe 18 - 4 people tables and the place has obviously been there a long time and had that old town atmosphere which is still around in these small towns thank goodness. The service was also friendly and fast. Prices were very reasonable, and I had potato skins (5) and they were hot and tasty. The burgers and fries were very good, and the food portions were plentiful. They have a great selection of dinners, sandwiches and appetizers. I give it a solid 4 for the atmosphere, price and service. I like it! I suggest you stop in if hungry and you are in town. read more

Tried late lunch today and not happy with the time it took to get a simple burger and a wrap, 40 minutes when there were only 5 other tables with customers. The food was Ok but nothing exciting and there were no chips or fries with either the wrape or the burger so that was another $3.49 for sweet potato fries side we shared. Table service was good though and she kept my coke refilled as I drank a lot waiting for the food. The food was hot I will say. Not sure why Bakery is in the name. The display cases at the entry had one plate full of muffins and rolls and otherwise was totally empty. We did not look at the desert menu so maybe they have some pastries or something hidden away from view. read more

Came to Tennessee on vacation saw this cute little cafe on main street. Had to come! Amazingly quick service. Old cozy atmosphere. Love the creaky floorboards. The Cesar salad was amazing. The lettuce was fresh and everything was homemade. down to the croutons. I ate every last bite. Highly recommend. After that I had the apple cake. It was very good. There was a nice crust on top. Would've been nice with ice cream. Very moist and nice. Overall amazing restaurant. Keep it up!! read more

We had a fun time here. The service was very friendly and it was a great local hometown place. I had the reuben sandwich. I enjoyed it but it could use a little help. The bread was a little anemic for the sandwich. I'd suggest a more sturdy bread. The beef was cut a little thick which made the sandwich a little difficult to eat as it took an effort to bite through it and not just yank it out of the sandwich. Overall an enjoyable sandwich. The service was excellent and so friendly. We did take a nice slab of their apple cake home for a desert and it was absolutely delicious!! They also had some baked goods for sale the oatmeal raisin cookies looked amazing although I didn't try them. They also had cards etc. from local artists available for purchase as well. Stopped in for dinner during the Sweetwater Christmas festival. Ordered burgers and fries. The burgers were served plain, bun and hambuger. I had to go locate the waitress to get silverware and napkins. I finally ask if the hamburgers were always served plain? She replied that if we wanted tomatoes, lettuce, etc., it would be an additional cost. The burger was $5.50. Needless to say, we won't visit again. read more

I came here for lunch today and was delighted by this charming little place. The staff was very friendly and were quick to keep all the glasses full. I just went with the special which was a turkey club with bacon and pepper jack cheese and a side of sweet potato fries. I thought that even though the sandwich was a little messy (that's what napkins are for) that it was really good, and that the sweet potato fries were nice and crisp with the right amount of salt on them. The bakery items also looked extremely delicious, but I had to skip those or I'd have been in a food coma after lunch. Maybe next time I'll just stop in for cookies and coffee. This place was kind of a disappointment. The pictures online made it look nice, but once I was sitting I was shocked at how plain it was. One wall looked like it had been patched over with plaster ten years ago and left that way. Now the food...was just ok. I decided to go for the soup and half sandwich. Tomato soup and the reuben. The soup was alright, but the sandwich was completely disappointing. It was the size of a large cracker!!! Service was slow and didn't seem to know much about the place. My two girlfriends wanted to get together for lunch and I remember going to this place before and food and service was great so I suggested this place. Today service was bad/slow and food was mediocre. I ordered spinach artichoke dip and it came out like soup. I spilled it everywhere. It was so messy. The chicken salad tasted good but had huge chunks of chicken and the fruit side was supposed to have blueberries but they were missing when it arrived. Server never mentioned anything or apologized. We waited one hour before our food arrived and we didn't order anything complicated. I asked for extra napkins and server forgot. I won't go back. A lady stopped by our table and asked how everything was after our meal and I shared my thoughts. No apology or offer to change, only an excuse about being busy right before we arrived. Today we met our daughter on her lunch break at this charming, little restaurant in Sweetwater. As you walk in you see this incredible case of desserts that are hard to walk past! HUGE cookies, bars, and various cakes and cupcakes and they all look so good you are temped to just eat cake and skip lunch! We were amazed at the size of the menu and everything sounded so good, but when the server said they had French Onion soup today, my mind was made up - Soup and Salad. The soup was delicious and not too salty as some are. They mixed in the cheese with the soup and croutons making it much easier to eat. Paired with a Greek Salad with heavenly dressing, I was pleasantly filled. My daughter and husband both opted for the Club Sandwich...one with Steak Fries and the other with Potato Soup and again, both were very pleased. The sandwiches were large and full of meats, the fries were tasty with just the right amount of salt and the Potato Soup was praised by one who makes homemade, so that is a good review! The place was very busy with a large table of about 12 and at least 7-8 smaller tables and only one server taking care of everyone. Still, we were served refills on our drinks and the meals were not extremely delayed considering. Our server was very nice and cordial and did not act the least bit frazzled with all the tables she was responsible to serve. All in all, this was a great find and we WILL be back again to try something else on the menu. And BTW, I did not get past the dessert case on the way out...you have to pay up front, so while I am waiting my turn to pay, I am looking and just had to take home a Neiman Marcus bar and a HUGE Oatmeal Raisin cookie! Yep, they get you coming in and going out...calling your name! Had a bite after we got home and the desserts ARE delicious! read more

They have pretty standard fare for lunch like sandwiches, burgers, wraps, salads, etc. The service is excellent and friendly. In my opinion, the baked goods outshine anything on the menu.
