They were great--until they weren't. We had Huntington service our pool for four years without any major issues. Things started going downhill after they assigned us new weekly cleaners. Communication became terrible. The office would take days to respond, even after multiple voicemails and text messages. When my pool system became very loud, I contacted the office several days in a row with no response. Eventually, they said they would send someone out to inspect it. A technician came, stayed for less than five minutes, never knocked on the door to speak with me, and left without fixing the problem. The system was still just as loud. I immediately contacted the office again, but once again, I received no response for an entire week. At that point, I decided to look for another pool company. When my new company inspected the system, they discovered that the wires to my solar actuator had been cut, causing the system to overheat, which is what made it so loud. Huntington never informed me of this issue. I also noticed that after the new cleaners took over, they were at my house for less than five minutes during each weekly visit ( camera footage). Since switching companies, my pool looks better than it has in years, and I now have a brand-new system. I've also seen that many others have reported similar experiences on the Nextdoor app. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company. read more

I have been a client of Hunnington Pool Service since about 2022. Throughout the years of pool service we have had a few occasions with service that is unprofessional and not acceptable. My wife had a stroke a few years ago so honestly it was the last thing for us to focus on. Throughout the different not so pleasing events, my wife always dealt with the women Anna and Angie and she appreciated their kindness so we just stayed with the company. One incident, one of the pool technicians brought their young daughter to work which is unprofessional and a bit scary for any possible accidents. Another incident was the main pool guy that would come to service our pool, let another technician who was not supposed to be let alone on a job, came and turned on our water to fill our pool and left my home!!! He didn't tell me that he was there and turned the water on or that he would be returning. As soon as I seen he drove away, I called the office and reported that he did this. He came back and was upset and said that he was coming back, I advised could have left a note or knocked on my door to inform me. Then I found out that he should have never been at my pool to do maintenance alone. They apologized. I also had to make a complaint about the monthly fee and the monthly service that I was not pleased with. My pool would barely be brushed. They would only check/change chemicals and take out leaves with net. I had to constantly request for my pool to be brushed. This last incident, we had an ongoing situation with my pool losing water and the pool tech advised that some work can be done with the floater valve they quoted me a set amount . I scheduled the work for Friday at noon they didn't show so I called them fin showed up at 130 . The owner Darrell knocked on my door I let go in he took a look at piping and mentioned he's guy is on the way with the materials . I opened the side gate and they started working about 20 to 30 minutes into the work Darrell knocks on my door and begins to explain that he can't complete the job .. beciase that couldn't take off the valve .. I asked if he needed to borrow tools . He said no we decided not to continue so he gathered hes tools and left . I was very upset . He left it worse then it was before .I am canceling The concert and finding a more reputable com!! read more

Would just like to say that though I've never used them, I've never seen a company allow their drivers to drive so erratically. From other reviews it looks like this is an issue. From galt all the way to Elk Grove they were flying in and out of traffic (while it's raining) then when they went to get off on the exit they almost clipped the back of my car, passed me, almost weren't able to get back over into the exit lane. Then at the last minute they cut off another car and tailgated so close to the car in front of them that one touch of the brake and there would have been a crash. This is unacceptable behavior. Huntington should really do something before someone gets killed as a result of their drivers. My friend was able to snap a picture of the license plate of the truck in question. read more

I joined Yelp five years ago, and that is because I wanted to share all of my experiences... either good or bad... and HONESTLY... At first when contact was made everything was superb... communication and promptness, feeling you will always have consistent customer service... Unfortunately, after we had the pool replastered, and had all new equipment installed, ($4k not including monthly fee, plus, I even paid the spring cleaning which was another $300+)..which the equipment needed replacing.. the nightmare began... I will not go into ALL the details, but when I emailed yesterday at 7:04 am yesterday, got a reply at 7:40am and never heard back until I called at 1pm, and promised I would get a call back.. and never did.. then the call became escalated.. and had to involve my son -stress level really going up for me).. PLEASE do your due diligence when you are looking for a pool service, ( I thought I did)... get more than three estimates, meet them in person, and ask questions...and if they start slacking stay on them; or find another pool service! Also, invest in or utilize your Ring or camera devices, that helps with monitoring how long or how many visits your services are.... Excellent Prices and Quality Service Friendly Staffing. Hard to find this type of Excellence.

They would barely spend 5 minutes at the pool. The techs would dump the debris from the filter baskets in the rock and flower beds. They would never check the pool sweep even though I asked Darrel repeatedly after I kept finding rocks or twigs stopping it up after the service. They would leave the pump control panel open exposing it to rain and sun. They would never sweep the pool and did a half-baked job skimming it. And what follows was the last straw. Continuously the techs would prop the gate open, and then forget to close it. On multiple occasions the dogs got out. I talked and texted Darrel probably 50 times and he said he would make sure they did not prop the gate open again. I put a sign on the gate that reads: "Please don't prop the gate open". Well, they continued to leave the gate open. I have Ring video of the techs propping the gate open and yelling into the camera "don't prop the gate open!" Completely disregarded Darrel's orders and completely disrespected me and my home. What could they be capable of if no one were watching? I sent the video to Darrel, and he did nothing. I fired Huntington, yet these techs are still employed. In fact, if my wife is outside and they are out on our street servicing another house, the guy that yelled into the camera makes it a point to stop and give her a dirty look. I hired another service and what a pleasure to have everything serviced completely and properly every week. Look for that review if you need a pool service company. read more

I am not a customer (and never have been) of Huntington Pools. That said, my wife found one of their employees in our backyard in Elk Grove. He was surprised when she told him we don't have a pool service with Huntington pools. He was carrying pool chemicals (appeared to be chlorine). I had my wife run the pump and get the water tested at Leslie's the same day. The pool chemistry was all messed up (11 ppm of Chlorine + 8 PH). The chemistry had been near perfect (90% accurate) at the last test at Leslie's. I have never, in 10 years, had test results with as high Chlorine as after Huntington trespassed on my property and dumped a bunch of chemicals in my pool. I called Huntington and left a message. I got no response and no call back. I called the next day and spoke to a receptionist who said she'd talk to the owner, but it's a day later and I still have had no response. Very frustrating that they trespassed at my house, dumped chemicals in my pool (clearly without testing the water first), and then Huntington doesn't even have the courtesy to call me back. WORD TO THE WISE!!! In October of 2023, I canceled service with this company. In November 2023, auto pay sent them a payment. I called and requested a refund. However, I was told that I was delinquent, in my account because they had to increase the rates and I owe them the difference even though the auto pay was more than what they claimed I owed them they kept my money. They increase their fees but were failing to provide service. After reviewing my surveillance cameras, I discovered these people were not showing up on a regular basis. when I called to inquire, I was told that they would send somebody else to clean the pool which they did. However, they were not adding any chemicals to my pool. I took a sample of the pool water to a local company and had to purchase chemicals to balance my pool. They want to increase the prices when pools only require minimal chemicals during the winter time. I prefer not to do business with people that I have to follow up on to confirm that they are performing the work that they are being paid to do. read more

Discovered today I owed $500 for drips and drabs going back 2 years (not catching rate increase immediately, small extra services etc.) Wasn't notified since early 2022 because "we didn't have your phone number"(!). On the phone for 2 hours with a confused staff member trying to resolve the amount I owed. They have staff here every week. Never thought I'd be grateful to Visa but I'm glad that's not their policy. I absolutely must share this story with everyone. My 5 star rating for Hunting Pool Services is for being an exceptional neighbor. For a true understanding of how much they helped me out of a hard spot, I must express my hatred of pools. My husband wanted a swimming pool, and I wanted an outdoor living room with an outrageously large television and bed (yes, a bed) to lounge on while view television. I also wanted a bocce ball court. Well, I lost out, obviously. Anyway, kids entered our backyard and turned on all of the water features. Correct, I have no clue how to operate any of the stupid pool equipment. I contacted Kristin. I explained my situation, and she said, oh okay, we will come over. I said, great, just add it to the bill. She told me they would not charge for something like this. Well, I know she regreted that one. Her husband had to come over twice. He did get the water features turned off and everything is peachy keen right now. More happened; however, this is already a lenghty review. So, I will speed it up here. I have been working like everyone else every single day since March 9. I am exhaused and my anxiety level is high. Kristin listened patiently while I had a monumental breakdown on the phone. By the way, sorry for losing it on you like that. I am a good neighbor. In fact, if you shoot me your address privately, I will make you some of my grandmothers special fried pies or whatever type of baked goods you like. This may have been something simple for your company to handle but it was a true horror story for me. I typed all of this to say, thank you so much for being a fabulous neighbor. Its 6:51am on Thurs 11/30 and one of your drivers almost caused a multicar accident TWICE in the span of minutes on 99 and Grantline. Cutting me off and missing by inches to blue blow past me to get to the far side of the offramp (so cutting 3 lanes of traffic) and then you cut a nice Mercedes off when you cut them short cause you went to the outside lane to turn right and then cut them off to get to the ins. Running to late to open the store we were? There is NO reason to drive like that and if thats how you let your drivers operate then I question how the rest your business is operated. Your company has been slandered by this very avoidable situation and I hope they are reprimanded for it. Wont be recommending this business to anyone. read more

The best pool service ever! After hiring Huntington Pool Services I began to have the bluest, clearest pool I ever had. Previous I had another pool company working on my pool and they did a terrible job. A few days after listing my house I was notified that the drain cover was a safety issue that needed to be fixed ASAP. I called Darrell literally last night and what do you know? He says he can come the next morning. In one day he drains my pool, put on a new cover on and preps it for restoring the chemicals and water. After being treated in an insulting fashion by several local vendors (I admit the pool was a mess - leaves from a magnificant Japanese Maple, windfall lemons, whathave you.
