This is an amazing campground! First, the county of Riverside is working to make camping fun! The weekend we visited, not only was there a movie night in a lovely meadow using an inflatable movie screen. There was also a fair Saturday morning! Each site was spacious and the bathrooms always had toilet paper and options for hand dryer or paper towel.

Super chill (May 28) 6$ per person day visit. Cash or Qr Code for online payment. Bathrooms, creek, trees, tables, idk what else you need.

This was a cute campground. The biggest takeaways were the location and the river. we brought a 35 ft Rv and dry camped. There are no hooks ups. It was hard to dry camp for many days with our family and that was just us. If your tent camping or like to dry camp this place is perfect for you. There are no amenities near by but one little general store a mile down the road. The road to get to our campground is a river, lit

Made reservations for 3 three spots over the weekend. We arrived Friday around 5 and was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't too hot. Besides the folks that were camping with us, we had several friends stop by on Saturday for the day. We spent part of the day down at the creek where the kids enjoyed their time playing in the water. The Overall a solid 4 stars for this campsite.

Nice relaxing place to camp near Lake Hemet and Idyllwild with clean bathrooms and coin operated showers.

Ask the Community - Hurkey Creek Park

Recommendations for which lot (preferably with shade)? Also, are there at least water hookups?

No water hook ups. There are spigots where you can fill up. S for shade lot b and c are good.

Can anyone confirm if their is water in the creek this year?

Oh yes there is water. But you cannot play in it, just watch it's beauty. Site 126 is a great place to view it.

    RV hook ups available?

No hook ups, dry camping. Campground has water spigots located throughout the campground.

I have some reservations about writing this review because my experience at this campground was…read morewonderful. I enjoyed four peaceful days there, and, surprisingly, there were never more than three campers present. The other visitors were all gray-haired, which contributed to the serenity--there were no barking dogs, loud generators, music, or screaming kids. I spoke with some long-time campers who advised against visiting during holiday weekends and summer; they warned that it can turn chaotic. Marion Mountain, built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, exudes character and has a relaxed atmosphere that is not geared for partying, although some attempt to make it so. This campground strictly allows only tent camping and very small teardrop trailers or camper vans; RVs and fifth-wheelers are not permitted. The upper loop (sites 1-5) is great for van or tent camping, but parking is limited to one car/van per site, with no extra parking available. This restriction minimizes the flow of day hikers and keeps the campground tranquil. The inside loop features flatter ground for pitching tents, but it does come with close campsites, reducing privacy since the road rings around sites six through ten, which require a short walk to access. On the lower loop, the outside sites are sloped, and you also need to walk to them. The interior sites here are flat but closely packed, creating a cramped environment. I rated this campground one star for weekends and holidays, but it earns five stars on weekdays and in the shoulder seasons. I would absolutely return, but definitely not on weekends! If I want to hear screaming kids and barking dogs, I can just visit my grandkids. If you value a peaceful camping experience, choose your timing wisely!

The drive up is a little windy but there are plenty of turn outs if you're nervous and want to take your time. There's two ways up the mountain to get this site. The camp is easily located right off the 243 and is absolutely beautiful. The grounds are very well kept. There's paved areas, wood chips, and it's not full of dirt. The main hall is nicely a/c and there's a beautiful outdoor amphitheater. If you're looking for a camp, definitely consider this one. They even have a pool.

"Huh?!" In a very belittling way I told him once more to which then he replied "hello what do you want" to the person behind me. The staff needs to do better and hire people who can thrive in a place such as this. Not bums who need a place to stay where they can invite their negative energy to a sanctuary such as this. The housekeeping also wasn't the greatest we ended up doing alot of cleaning since the staff failed to do so. I saw a previous reviewer say how this place has "toxic masculinity" and I agree entirely the presence is very off. I will never be returning to this site again, I truly believe the only hope for this camp is new management or new staff maybe even both.
