Every fall the Huron Turkey Farm is the place to stop. They have a petting farm and tons of fun things for the kids. Sometimes we just stop in so the kids can run around and enjoy the "kid village." They have doughnuts and sweets inside, sell cider, and can supply you with the best tasting turkey for Thanksgiving or Christmas. During Halloween there is a haunted house and plenty of scary attractions.

    Tons of fun to see!

A little costly, but mostly worth it for a fun pumpkin picking experience. Been coming for years & they add something every year - a ship to play on, a castle slide, tons of farm animals, haunted maze/house, a little food shop & of course....plenty of pumpkins !!!!!

If they can grow it, they will sell it, and for a great price! Even though I no longer live in the area, every time I fly up, I always bring a suitcase full of produce back to Washington, DC with me, because the prices just can't be beat. Kurtzhal's offers great stuff for such great prices! Really. In the fall expect to get squash a few for $1, bushels of peppers for a few dollars, and tons of other great finds. And what makes it even better? They take credit card!

My daughter and I were having a good time shopping and picking out plants. Everything was great until it wasn't. When we got to the checkout we had a couple cut in front of us and I called them out to move to the back of the line to only be informed that these people have previously checked out and wanted to get something else quickly. The cashier didn't ask them to move to the back of the line of people waiting but continued to help them anyways. Which wasn't the worst part of my experience. My daughter was looking for yard decorations and wanted to show me something she thought was cool when a worker yelled across the room "HEY LITTLE GIRL DONT TOUCH THAT!!" Then continued to bend down and get close to my daughters face (who was already froze from being yelled at by some crazy old lady) and continued to tell her the item she was showing me was SO expensive and she would break it if she keeps messing with it. I told the lady she was fine meaning SHE'S OBVIOUSLY NOT GOING TO TOUCH IT ANYMORE and she looked at me and said "NO ITS NOT FINE" and continued telling her the $30 item cannot be touched by children and wouldn't stop until I told the women I GOT IT!! My daughter is 5. She was in my 5 year olds face and is incredibly lucky I didn't get into hers. My first initial thought was to leave my entire cart and let the rude employee put away the flowers I was shopping for but I ended up buying it so I could just get out of there. She completely ruined our experience and day after that with her horrible attitude. She was brunette wearing a bandana or whatever it was around her forehead. She wasn't nice, she didn't ask nicely, she surely doesn't know how to talk to children or to be professional. So if you have kids and enjoy going to greenhouses with them DO NOT COME HERE. They don't know how to treat little kids. ALSO most of their plants are diseased (zinnias, etc.) so buy with caution if you do happen to go here

Located in charming Kerrytown, you can easily bundle farmer's market shopping with strolling through Kerrytown shops, downtown shops, and/or grabbing a tasty meal while you're out too. Saturday mornings through early afternoon year-round, and Wednesdays May-Dec. I will say that this year it seems like Wednesday market is much more sparse in terms of vendors and offerings than it used to be, but still a nice option for a less busy day. Artisan market on Sundays, and occasional events throughout the year as well - like the Christmas market each December (one evening only). Parking can be a little hectic - have to be kind of lucky to get a market lot spot or one of the spots on Detroit St (paid), but there are other street parking options and nearby lots and garages. I used to like going Wednesdays before 8am, because I could always get a spot on Detroit St and it was free before then.

It's part of the experience. Come prepared to walk a bit and you'll be fine. The vendors clearly put in a lot of effort. You can tell there's pride in what they're offering, and the market itself has a good atmosphere. That said, I didn't really find anything I needed or couldn't live without this visit. The items were fine, just not quite what I was hoping for. I do wish the vendors could get a little more bang for their buck, whether that's higher traffic, better layout, or stronger buyer energy. The effort is there, and it deserves to be rewarded. All in all, it's a nice stop, worth checking out, and still a good market even if it wasn't a standout haul for me this time. Four stars.

Try my favorite, the iced vanilla latte. It's to die for. The artisans in the market sell items made out of wood, beads and ceramics. There are lovely wooden bowls and cutting boards, jewelry, pottery and even soaps and perfumes, just to name a few. There is even an artisan who sharpens knives, scissors and other blades. My family has a CSA with the Goetz Farm so we're at the market every week to pick up our box of fresh fruit and vegetables. I can tell you this market is very popular and well attended. It's a great place to grab a cup of coffee and a donut and sit down to enjoy the parade of adults, children, and dogs passing by. During the market season, there are several celebrations. I'm particularly fond of Halloween when kids, adults and dogs come in costume. I've been to a lot of farmers markets in my time, and Farmington Farmers & Artisans Market is still my favorite. There are several different "sheds" which are basically huge barns that house tons of different local vendors--everything from produce, plants, ready made food, apparel, sweet treats, handmade crafts, coffee and other drinks, etc. We had a blast looking around each of the sheds and saw lots of interesting items. We didn't end up buying anything, but I would love to go back again. The market is open on Saturdays year round, and even in the coldest January weather there were a lot of people there! They have extended hours in the summer months. One of the best parts of visiting the market was the ample free parking in their lots. We also had fun exploring the neighboring shops and restaurants!
