Horrible service. They don't build houses correctly won't come out and fix the problems. Say things are not covered under warranty.

I have a 6 year old home built by Hurricane Builders. The foundation is broken due to poor soil packing during construction. I have caves and trenches under my foundation full of water and the garage and a load bearing wall is on the brink of collapse. I have reached out to Hurricane and the warranty company and neither company will take responsibility. These repairs are costing over $45k to make. I have cracks throughout the home on walls and ceilings, the floors are separating, where the foundation has sank several inches. I have to have all of the hardwood ripped out and replaced after foundation is repaired. The foundation company told me all of this is a result of poor workmanship and shortcuts from the builder. I reached out to Hurricane and the warranty manager told me that it was not their problem. DO NOT buy a home built by Hurricane. They throw them up as quickly as possible and turn their back on you when the house fails. read more

WARNING DO NOT BUY A HURRICANE BUILDERS HOME!!!! From my experiences and speaking with many of my neighborhood neighbors who we are thinking about filing a lawsuit against hurricane builders for building some cheap product and filling to stand behind their warranty, hurricane builders make some of the cheapest houses on the market, we have so many problems with these home and they are brand new homes, problems such as stairs coming apart, electrical panels, the bathroom fixtures, the bathroom leakage, bedroom floors kitchen floors hallway floors, appliances not working, windows won't open, light fixtures, those are just few of the problems that myself and other neighbors have experience, I even had one neighbor found out that there were weed growing from the outside of they're home that was growing inside, how can grass from the outside creep into the inside of someone's home without it being properly constructed. Do not try to contact the warranty people to schedule repair because that female who was in charge of the warranty, she will try to delay repairing that home until The 11th month warranty has expired and she would tell you that it is no longer hurricane builders problem anymore, she would say it is your problem. If you going to spend $300 $400 $500,000 on a home, it should at least be constructed to your satisfactory and have a high standard from the builders but this is not the case with hurricane builders, they will build a house, and then come back over the years to repair them because hurricane builders relies on quantity and not quality. I have a dishwasher in my house that seems like it was in a low income apartment in a financially deprived town. Do yourself a favor look elsewhere do not buy a house from hurricane builders, look elsewhere, do your homework. read more

‼‼ WARNING ‼‼ I have never worked with a more incompetent, unprofessional, and dishonest company in my life. Purchasing a custom built home from Hurricane Builders has been an absolute nightmare since day one. The awful experiences we endured while our home was being built is absolutely unbelievable! One headache and disappointment after another. We started our process in July, of 2018. We just closed on Monday, October, 7, 2019. The lack of professionalism from Brenda Starnes, Jose Rimirez, Michael Reese, and a host of others within this company is absolutely mind blowing and they should be embarrassed. The deceiving practices, and misinformation from 1 or more Hurricane employees were common throughout this whole process. After a certain point of my wife and I being fed up by this mistreatment from this company, we took it into our own hands to protect ourselves. We began recording all meetings and conversations, emails, text messages, voicemails, etc. Before we closed, there was a final walkthrough and a punch list created of the things that still needed to be done. There were also items that were supposed to be left in the home per contract and now after we signed the closing documents, Brenda Starnes (Hurricanes Realtor) informed us today that they were NOT going to honor the contract, and were not going to put the items in the home per Jose. Even when we were going above and beyond to work with them, they are still trying to get over on honest people. We do not deserve this! We WILL NOT tolerate this any longer. We will be pursuing legal action in the coming days, and will file a complaint with the BBB. I advise ANYONE, if you are looking to purchase or build, DO NOT use Hurricane Builders. Note: According to several of their employees/contractors, the company is having serious internal issues. Contractors posted on Google that they had not been paid in over 5 months. Hurricane, brushed the review off as it being a former disgruntled employee who was responsible for all the negative reviews. So, to try and keep their review numbers from going any lower, Hurricane solicited friends and several members of their staff to leave a positive review to keep their numbers from dropping. If you go to Google, you will see that 5 months ago over 100 positive reviews were added to throw potential buyers off. DON'T BELIEVE IT! I have several emails from Hurricane, asking me to stay with them and not back out of the deal. They promised going forward that my home would be their top priority. IT DIDN'T HAPPEN!!! STAY AWAY! Bought a beautiful brick home from Hurricane builders. It's well built and spacious with a 3 car garage at a great price and with a big lot.

Just bought A BRAND NEW HOME and it had SOOOO many issues. I'm not gonna give specifics for various reasons but I will say that I'm North of Columbia ,S.C. and they've built ALOT of houses in my neighborhood and they've had MANY SEPTIC issues with almost all of them. Hurricane said they would fix my problems and even told me they did. Well I'm selling my house now and guess what the buyers inspector just said...... Not only did they not fix ANY of those problems but they ran out the year warranty so it's no longer on them and THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT RAUL (FOREMAN) JUST TOLD ME. Oh and by the way no one speaks English (which I don't care too much initially) but when you do have a problem GOOD LUCK trying to get them to do the job RIGHT. They DO NOT care about the houses they build and are clearly out JUST FOR MONEY! One more thing real quick, because they let the problem persist for SOOOO LONG now a HUGE HUGE HUGE possible issue has resulted that is definitely going to stop me from selling my house until I spend THOUSANDS to fix it(If it even can be fixed.)
