My sister in law and I had a beach day and we stopped at Hurricane. We got there at 11:50 and was told they open at noon. The host told us to sit and he will get us service they are opened. My sister in law was able to get a drink from the inside bar and the bartender was very chipper. The manager personally walked over to us with our menu and thanked us for our patience. Our waiter was nice. We shared the Sunshine Salad, Lobster Claw, and Stone Crab. It was so good. I'm a seafood girl it hit the spot. I have to mentioned I loved the Strawberry Mule Mocktail.

This popular multi-level restaurant in St. Petersburg is right across the street from the Pass-a-Grille beach. They are known for their fresh seafood and rooftop sunset views. We sat on the first floor outdoor patio at this casual family friendly place. We shared the Grouper Paradise with broccoli $40.05, Boom Boom Shrimp $15.50, and Mac and Cheese $9.05. The grouper with a crab cake and many shrimp was plentiful and good. The service was good. I ask for an extra plate for sharing that took a while. The view of the Gulf is somewhat obstructed. Parking is $40 with a restaurant gift card to be used in the restaurant.

Blackened chicken and Onion Rings

Fun beachside restaurant with outdoor seating and a menu you would expect to appeal to tourists who like fried seafood. I got blackened chicken which was well-seasoned and onion rings which were nice and crunchy with a flavorful dipping sauce. Considering it's walking distance to the beach the prices are fair and the portions are good! The service isn't anything special but that wouldn't stop me from going back!

We were in no rush during our visit. We only got appetizers since we weren't terribly hungry but the boom boom chicken, and the spring rolls we did get were so good! I didn't take a picture of those but I did take a picture of the mocktails we got. Every time I come to Pass-a-Grill beach, it's a staple to stop here for food or drinks. We went in the middle of the week during lunch time and it wasn't crowded at all (mind you mid/late February isn't a busy time of year typically).

Such nice people working at this restaurant. We mentioned that we had three dogs with us in strollers and they happily welcomed us! They were so happy to see our dogs. It was a slow afternoon so most of the employees came by to say hello and spend some time with the girls. The GM even came out and gave the girls a treats. So let's focus on the food. We had a little bit of everything. 1. Blackened Grouper sandwich with Fries 2. Blue crab tater tots 3. Fried Grouper bites 4. Smoked fish dip We sat outside and the view was great. We really liked the restaurant and would recommend it to those in the area!

Hurricanes is a great spot to watch the sunsets! It's your typical beachy spot with that laid-back vibe, but the view is incredible, especially from the rooftop. Drinks are great and not bad priced at all for waterfront. Service was good, and it wasn't too packed when I went.

Had a good time at Hurricane! Situated on St. Pete Beach, the views were impeccable. My favorite part of the meal were the onion rings- some of the best I've ever had. The batter was savory and salty- while the horseradish sauce was tangy. The salmon was fresh and the asparagus was buttery and earthy. My mom got a couple dirty martinis and she said they were delicious! our service was good, too!

Almost a sunset, clouds came in and blocked it completely.

Service was lacking. I'm being very kind. Sat in top floor waiting for server, only to find out you have to order from bar (after I asked). Then, they had menus but stopped serving food at 6, had to go downstairs and wait in line to be seated. Just getting to order food took forever, and almost longer than that to get it. Silver lining: Blackened grouper was really good. Bad: gator bites were a joke, portion wise and are overly breaded. Additionally, no ramulade sauce... BBQ. And nothing came with lemon or lime wedge. They were kind enough to overprice everything for what you get, so... kudos? Too annoyed to photo food

Stone crabs! 1lb each, with 1 side for $5. Broccoli, tots, salad

Tis the stone crabs while season and this place not only delivers them, but with a great view! They only offer one size and you can order either half a pound (which I say why stop there) or a pound. And you can add a side for $5. Outstanding service seated outside in the shade and facing the beach for another perfect St Pete sunset.

We came here after receiving a recommendation from a local. We started on the rooftop with two rounds of drinks at sunset. The drinks were good, a little fruity and sweet for me but we wanted to order off the menu. After sunset, we went downstairs for dinner. The service was fast! Our server was so friendly and great with the kids. Everything was delicious. The lobster bisque wasn't the best we had ever but I'd order it again! Crab cakes were SO good!

Very nice experience tonight. Good food good service and great atmosphere. Located across from the beach with plenty of outdoor seating

My fresh catch cooked to perfection!
Rene H.

I came to Florida to go out deep sea fishing and because I flew I knew I couldn't bring my catch back with me so I wanted a place that would cook my fresh catch. A client of mine had suggested I check out Pass-a-grill while visiting so I found The Hurricane to serve dual purpose! I made reservations online, however it wasn't terribly busy on a Monday night so we did not wait even tho we arrived 20 minutes earlier than our reserved time. Now, for whatever reason God was looking out for us, we were blessed to have Amanda as our server. Not only was she incredibly accommodating, friendly and knowledgeable, she gave us the exact amount of attention we needed! The recommendations were perfect and the conversation was easy and friendly. As a matter of fact I got a great hug before we left! *Chef's * The food prices are 10/10, quality 10/10, quantity 10/10, wait time 10/10 and the service was 12/10! The restaurant is directly across from the beach which is beautiful just before dusk! I can not recommend this place enough. I only wanted 1 lb of my fish cooked but I had 3 lbs with me so I told Amanda to offer it up to her co-workers as I have no way to store or transport it back home to Missouri. A guy working with her took me up on my offer so I was glad to see my fresh fish did not go to waste! The grunt fish I brought was cooked to perfection, the flavor (I got fried & blackened) was amazing and I could not have been happier with everything from beginning to end! Thank you again to Amanda and the rest of the crew for making our vacation unforgettable! If you make it to the Hurricane make sure to ask for Amanda and be prepared to have a great meal and top notch service!

Insanely long wait for breakfast. We were only the third table there when we arrived and it took an hour.

Wow. I expected more from a place rated 4 stars. To be…read morespecific we went to the beach bar because the restaurant wasn't open yet. The very first issue was parking. Parking is minimum $50 a day + fees. A cocktail? For an hour? Haha no. I'm being mildly disingenuous. The bar staff (and likely restaurant staff) will give you a QR code to validate all $58 of your parking. But it made me acutely miss a time when you could just park and patronize an establishment. Just don't forget to validate your parking, cuz they sure didn't ask preemptively. They were celebrating a 3-day grand reopening when we went on Saturday. There was *one* artisan in their market space. The music was pumping loud enough to not be able to converse. Although it drew a crowd of younger folks, there was not much to behold from the "grand" reopening. Not even s cost of paint. The beach bar may not have been part of the sprucing up idk, I didn't see anything worth celebrating. I meant to look at the size of the cocktail cup that we got (small), but $13-14 for a cocktail is highway robbery for the end result. And $18 for 6 wings ($3 a wing) was a little disappointing. I expected better of a Hilton adjoined restaurant. No one part was terrible. It was just the way they matched up - loud, expensive, small portions. If you're loud maybe you're cheap and tasty. If you're expensive, maybe you're fast and delicious. This was all the worst parts of a bar that doesn't care about its patrons' economics. A bar that wants to serve tourists with mediocrity and move on to the next crop of people who will never be there again. If you're a tourist it'll probably be fine, if overpriced. If you're a local, don't bother. To be fair, we should ask if there was anything good. hm ... no. We won't be returning. 3 stars is probably generous.

We brought a cooler (and while I totally understand why those aren't allowed inside) the staff made us trek it a quarter-mile away to a random sign rather than offering a convenient solution. The real kicker was leaving: despite being steps away from the street, we were forced to lug the cooler back through the sand and around the building rather than just walking through the parking lot. The logic just wasn't there, especially considering we spent over $150 on drinks while we were there. It's not like we weren't supporting the business; we were happy to pay, but we didn't appreciate being treated like an inconvenience. Also, as someone who isn't a "hardcore" environmentalist, seeing the beach littered with plastic straws was disappointing. I thought I found shells in the sand twice, only to realize I was digging up plastic. Great spot for a drink, but be prepared for some frustrating hurdles and a lot of plastic waste.
